[Q] Supercharguer v6 recomendattions galaxy ace II - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi and thanks in advance.
I´m trying to supercharge stock rom Jb 4.1.2 (MG2) , But i only get boot loop .
what roms does you recommend me for superchargue (balanced between daily use and hard gaming)

i think kyrillosv8 is supercharged, you could go with that.
MF1 and MG2 aren't that different from eachother anyways, but do make sure you retain 624 MB.
Then again, the stock firmware does not have such poor memory management that it needs supercharging, most lag you'll experience is cause the touchwiz framework was designed to be laggy (or resource hogging)

MG2 and MF1 are different, for some devices MF1 works good and for some MG2 is the best... for me MF1 is not giving any lag.
and you should consider flashing Kyrillos V8, It's the best stock rom
Maybe, if you want, try flashing CM10

Need help with ROM

Hello everyone,
My wife has Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 and after JB 4.1.2 update the phone is very slow. It lags like hell so asking help from you guys. She does not need any fancy ROM loaded with ton of customization options, just simple, fast rom. Doesn't matter if it is JB or GB.
GPS and 3G/WIFI should work well, because shes using it for navigation sometimes The BEST would be tweaked and fast 4.1.2 JB stock rom if this is possible Or nevermind, every peace faster than this would be great.
Please suggest me something. What rom should i choose? Phone is:
Mode: GT-I8160
Android version: 4,1,2
Baseband: I8160XXMF1
Kernel: 3,0,31-1106830 #2
Build number: JZO54K.I8160XXMF1
THANK YOU!!

For the lagg and force closing, go to applications > active processes and see how much ram it reads. If that says 482, then u need to apply this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2389395 trick. chances are all will be smooth after that.
If u fancy the extra's, you should go with Kyrillosv8.
or you can flash MG2 via odin, I find that a tad more stable than MF1 (again apply the patch linked to above if u end up with 482 MB RAM then.)
Lastly, flashing D-kernel will speed things up and increase stability as well.

Okey now, i did the first thing, flashed V1 624 memory file via ODIN, everything went great, phone seems a bit faster. Now i am trying to flash D-kernel via stock recovery, but it says this: E:signature verification failed. Phone is not rooted. What can i do? Thanks.
And another question, i saw supercharger is made for this phone. It is worth flashing it for SPEED?

First flash this from the stock recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2141395
then flash D-kernel from that CWM recovery.
Thank you for this helpful thread. I was looking exactly for the same fix to my phone. I could apply both the RAM fix and the Kyrillos mod successfully but unfortunately I ran into a bootloop after I have applied the D-Kernel patch. Since I am not experienced, I am wondering if:
a) I did something wrong
b) Kyrillos already patched the D-Kernel
c) if my D-Kernel patch was not compatible (buggy file or not compatible with Kyrillos)
Now I have flashed back XMF1 since I did not know how to fix my bootloop. How can I successfully apply D-Kernel to achieve the desired performance?
Regards,
Quentin

@Hummer951 solved this issue with the right patch: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46456493&postcount=2
However, the performance is still not really convincing. Would you recommend to apply further tweaks like liquid speed or PurePerformances™X?

Kernel for 4.1.2 ? Nto 4.3 (Bluetooth issue)????

It was suggested that my bluetooth connectivity issue is probably due to a kernel issue.
I'm running Hyperdrive on Rogers. After much effort, I got it to pair with my 2012 Acura TL. But it will
NOT connect automatically.
Kernel? So if I load a kernel, must it me a 4.1.2 kernel, or can I use a 4.3 or other??
Thanks
DSSKing
Since hyperdrive is an Android 4.1.2 Rom, then you must use a 4.1.2 kernel this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756776 is one of the most used ones for the sgs3, but you can use any kernel that has a 4.1.2 TOUCHWIZ version. Really make sure you download the right one.

[Q] GT-l8160 downgrade to JB

Hello everyone,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 GT-l8160. After upgrading to JB experience with the phone was much worse than with GB. Then i decided to tweak it a little, so i did that trick with Odin to get 628mb RAM and installed D-Kernel to speed things up. After that, phone was quite faster but still i had MUCH better experience with GB rom and i would rather downgrade the phone to 2.3.8.
Is there anyone who could make a guide or something? My phone firmware STOCK is I8160XXMF1 (Baltic, SEB).
And as i mentioned there is D-Kernel installed in Stock rom and the phone is not rooted.
Thanks for help!

Custom ROM is simply slightly or much tweaked Stock ROM. It can contain themes or new functionality, added or removed apps etc. Most of the Custom Touchiz ROMs are pretty similar to stock ROMs and have added bits and pieces that most people would add anyway - like Xposed framework and some Xposed modules, etc, sound enhancements, Note 3 software but still look much like Stock Samsung ROM.
After 4.1.2 I flashed Criskelo (Custom TW ROM) and it is smoother than 4.1.2. I am very satisfied with this ROM, and can't understand why so many people complain about 4.3. IMHO this is the single BEST update on android I had on any device ever. 1st time I can really tell it is smoother than the previous version.
I strongly reccomend updating to 4.3, just follow all instructions and you should be fine. IMHO best ROMs are DN3, Phoenix and Criskelo. You can also try pre-rooted de-Knoxed stock ROMs, but you would loose any of the extras in these ROMs (Note 3 sw etc).
Really thanks for response ... but many says battery drains fast and fast after 4.3 update
And ram consumption very high
Could you clarify this for me and I would be thankful

Battery for me is the same as on 4.1.2. Maybe on 1st boot it is higher because if you erase everything it has to run media scanner for a long time to scan all your photos. But for me it is the same.
Don't worry about RAM consumption. I can't get it why people want to have EMPTY RAM??? What good is empty RAM, just doing nothing? If it uses more RAM, it means it is using it for something, probably caching disk, processes, apps.... Everything works just fine, Android manages RAM by itself. If it all works fine, why should I care how much RAM there is? Also it depends on your apps more than anything. I have like 290 USER apps, together with system apps it is like 510. And NEVER have I noticed any problems... so just forget about RAM, Android manages everything automatically, and our device has a lots of RAM. Even with TSF shell running which is huge, all is fluid and no apps have problems.

If you flash ROM from Sammobile, you will be Knox-locked. You will have Knox and you can never again downgrade to 4.1.2. And if you root, you will loose your warranty and will never be able to use Knox again. Knox is preventing you from flashing anything without triggering Knox counter to 0x1.
If you do flash UAE ROM from Sam mobile, you don't have to flash anything else, bootloader and modem are included.
But I'd suggest flashing de-Knoxed ROM, so you can later (if you want) install any custom ROM, downgrade, etc.
If you want custom ROMs, I'd suggest Phoenix, DM3 or Criskelo.

Thanks a lot dear

[Q] Best-ish Sony Stock ICS

Hi,
I`m planing to downgrade to an official Sony Stock ICS ROM (& and strip the bloatware) to get all the features working (HDMI). I was planing to pair the stock sony ICS with a kernel like Lupus. Before doing this however I wanted to ask if anyone has a recomendation on which Stock ICS version to get because I remember reading that one of those was a major flaw.
Additionally I'd like to know if anyone has/did run stock ICS+custom kernel and could share his experience with speed/smoothness and such, because I remember running the LT18i_4.1.B.0.587 firmware before rooting my device some years ago and the whole system was so laggy ... which lead me to try custom ROMs first and evetually unlock the bootloeader and go for custom Kernels later.
Any other recomendations are welcome.

I believe the newest is the best you can get, which is 4.1.B.0.587. You can also try 4.1.B.1.13, but it is a branded firmware and may have some additional bloatware installed in it.
Thanks. I remember 4.1.B.0.587 was really laggy when running on stock "everything". I'll try it and see if I can get it running smoothly with a custom kernel...

Even with a custom kernel, stock 4.1.B.0.587 will still lag a lot because of all the bloatware Sony added inside.
