How to revert Flipboard to phone mode instead of tablet mode? - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

The phone mode allows me to view content verticlly, that is, flick from bottom to top to go to the next one.
The version in the Note 8.0 seems to be in "Tablet" mode, where I scroll vertically (right to left) AND sometimes horizontally, just like the phone mode.
This is confusing at best, so I want to revert it back to the phone mode. Is this specific to the Flipboard app that came with the Note 8.0? If yes, how do I revert back to phone mode?

Mod to use S-Notes with phone upside down?

Hi all. New to GN2 so if this has already answered elsewhere I apologize.
When using S-Notes my wrist keeps hitting the back button on the bottom right of the of the phone and force closing the note I am working on. I wish Samsung would just program the phone to disable ALL TOUCH INPUT if the pen is close to the screen but until they do, is there a mod or a rom that will allow S-Notes to rotate 180 so I can hold the phone upside down as I write and avoid the back button?
Thanks in advance.

Keep your pen closer is all I can say. I'm the opposite opinion, on my GN2 the menu, back and even hardware home buttons DO NOT WORK when my pen tip is close to screen. It really annoys me because I'll try to back and have to take the stupid pen away to get it to work.
Same, if you can see the s pen's mini cursor on the screen, menu, home, and back buttons do not work.
swyped all these spelling errors from my galaxy note 2

[Q] Alternatives Navigation Method

Hi,
Is there an alternative method of navigating on the Note 10.1 2014? The hard wired back and home buttons are hard to get used to (came from N10 which had soft back and home buttons that automatically oriented themselves to the screen layout.)
I use taskarou , an app in the play store, to give myself soft buttons on both the bottom and right sides. You swipe from the edge and they appear, then disappear upon release. The way the app is set up initially is way too confusing for me, with multiple sub menus, but now that I have just back, recents and home it is much better. There is no way to get the menu bytton without root on any app like this, but overall I haven't missed it to much.

What is the dock-like thing on the screen?

Hello, awhile ago, something like a dock suddenly showed up on the screen, I could drag it to the side or to the bottom. I took my Note 2 to a store to ask the Sales to remove the dock-like thing. It appeared again suddenly (see the vertical dock-like item on the left of the screen) . What is it? How can I get rid of it? Thanks.

It's part of the Samsung TouchWiz software.
Just press and hold the back button (next to the home button) and it will disappear. If you want it back, hold the back button again.
Got it. Thank you very much.
In the quick settings panel there is a multi window toggle. You can switch it on and off there so it won't keep coming on

How to swap Menu and Back capacitive buttons in KitKat?

In Jellybean, I was easily able to go to System/usr/keylayout and modify the gpio-keys, sec_e-pen, and sec_touchscreen .kd files in order to swap the functionality of the Menu and Back capacitive buttons. (In other words, make the Back button open the menus, and the Menu button go back).
I can't figure out how to do it in KitKat though. It seems that the files have changed or moved.
Anyone know how to do this?
And in case someone asks:
Having the Back button on the left side just feels more natural to me. My phone has it like that too, and it's actually confusing when switching between it and my tablet. I keep pressing the wrong buttons :silly:
EDIT: Oh, and in case it matters, I'm using the P600 version of xKat.
I figured it out.
Everything is in the Generic.kd file now.

I was going to ask if maybe you were just holding the phone upside down, but then I realized that wouldn't be very helpful.
