I have a koodo variant of SGH-T989 and running stock with a pattern lock on it. is there a way i could access the play/pause widget in lock screen similar to an iPhone possibly without root and mods?

AOKP rom has a feature that allows widgets on the lockscreen. I haven't used it, but might be an option for you to check out.

Is there any possible way to have spotify lock screen controls with stock touch wiz? I am coming from ios and this is very important for me because of running and working out it was easy to control spotify on lock screen. Any help would be awesome

If you set up a pattern lock, the spotify lock screen controls work. Probably the closest you will get.

Is there a way to lock changes to home screen by locking it with the zl default launcher and. I know other launchers do this but I'd like to stick with the default ZL launcher

Hey, can anyone recommend a good lock screen alternative that's quite minimal but let's you add widgets. I'm using Nova launcher on my m8 but I can't stand the HTC lock screen and weather widget that you can't remove. Thanks!!!!

You can change it using Xposed and Gravity Box KK. I use the AOSP lockscreen and Chronus widget.
