[Q] (Web Based) App to view 360 panoramas? - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

Hi, I just got the Nexus 7 and made some 360 panoramas around the house to show my family (we recently bought a house), only problem is I can't physically take my Nexus to them to show them (they live in Europe, I live in Canada). So I was hoping there'd be some web service I could use to show them the pictures in a way that they could view them like you do google street view. However I've so far been unsuccesful in finding such a service.
Can anyone recommend me something?
Thanks

Try Dermandar. It's free.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for

London Underground software??????

Ok peeps.
I am off to London for a day out with my girls doing the sites, museums and the like.
My question is, is there a decent tube planner / street map free software out there to use to help our day?
Anyone have any suggestions.
I dont particularly wanna pay for anything as I am in london once in every 5 or 6 years....
Many thanks
Neil
there´s an app called metro.
I was in the same situation somedays ago. I´ve been to London in the past week, and believe me that if you use the little map (paper) they have there in the station its pretty easy to use the tube there.
They have lots of infos in the stations. You just need to see where you wanna go, and check the map if the tube goes there. And once in the station, search the line you have to catch and last, each platform shows where to go (direction).
But its better someone that live there tell you more.
I personally think its pretty easy to use.
A good commercial (not free) one is: http://www.visualit.co.uk/ - I use it.
The Metro program is free and excellent but not very visual: http://www.nanika.net/Metro/
One thing I tried was to download a copy of the tube map and then view it in the album.
enjoy the trip !
there's also City Advisor here on XDA, still under development but really promising
I also use Metro, have used it for business and for Holiday trips etc. (used it in Barcelona on holiday last year)
Cheesy Dave is right in that it is not very visual but for a free route planner that takes in the tube and mainline trains in the city it is brilliant.
For just about anything else I use googlemaps.
google
silly but why not use google maps with the Sat Nav operational and download a map of the undergroup to nav your way on the tube.
Or is that too easy. Maybe thats just me, but I do know London very well by tube and road.
I got tube 2 (visual it). are u interested? send me pm
Travel Guide by mobisystems.com is perfect for what you want. maps, tourist info, photos etc
You could just get a large image from google and save it as a picture

if u know yuor city it's the better solution. if u r a traveller, in a big city, it's comfortable to have a program that's a navigator in a tube.
I work for the london underground, so come to Camden Town and I'll give you all the info you need for ... FREE
I "tested" the Visual it Tube2 application and it did not convince me to buy it. The path tool suddenly stopped working and even while it was It had very poor graphic to be useful, was really not easy to read/use. In my opinion you'd better stick with a london map
@Rathis
I'll be in London near camden town from 14th march, if you happen to see a mad italian trying to get a satellite fix with a touch HD in the tube you'll probably be watching me.
London Tube
You can download the official map here. Trust me, the best thing is to get the map when you arrive. You can get them for free very easy at every tubestation (also at Heathrow express and connect). No hasle with your phone Besides that it is quite easy to travel around with the tube. There are 3 major connections (circle, district and central) they can bring you nearly anywhere within walking distance. In every cabin there is a good overview/map of all the lines.
one other thing to remember is that most shops or places are very aware of which is the nearest tube station, and often the ads for such plsces will have that info clearly shown.
You can also try the "Visitor Guide" from 3lobyte.nl it's look like something that you want.
by the way Smog, the 14 March I'm off

Sony Live View available for $19.99

Here is the ebay link to Sony live-view:
If you dont know what live-view is about here is a neat little promo video from Sony.
Developers have created other plugins for this device as well. The plugins include: Alarm clock, gmail, dialer, phonebook, Calling, etc...
Let me know what you guys think..
I got one for around the same price 1/2 year ago, it's slow so I stopped using it, they have released the second generation one now.
Poor reviews.

where is the review.
I would recommend that you just save your 20 dollars and wait till the new E-Pebble watch is released in the market. You can pre-order the watch right now as i have. I have a live view and it is extremely poor with ice cream sandwich. No plug-ins work at the moment. The only good use i can see with this is to connect it to your phone at the time of a test and send yourself all the answers to the test and you'll be able to view the answers on the little liveview.
the best it can do for me is control your music player whiles using my expensive headphones connected to the phone, other features are slow, and takes time connecting.

Everywhere if you use Google.
I ordered one. Should be here next week. Just wanted to try it out.
i was wondering if the firmware is hackable? does it run some version of android or a custom firmware?
I also just bought one because it's cheap. I searched online for ways to make it work with ICS and I found this. I didn't write this howto, just passing it along.
1) Install ADW Launcher
2) Open ADW Launcher, longpress on the homescreen and create a "Custom Shortcut"
3) when selecting the shortcut target select "Activity"
4) Search the Plugin within the list and select the "****Preference" subnode
5) Press OK
6) Click on the new shortcut so that the preferences of the plugin will open
7) check the "Enabled" checkbox of the plugin
8) you are done the plugin should work now... but you need to restart LiveView-App to see them!
9) revert back to your launcher of choice.
Also install liveviewcharm app from the market, and that will solve the connection issues.
So I also got this watch, but there is one thing that really annoys me, the watch never reconnects by him self, the phone always asks to confirm the bluetooh passkey, can I overtake this issues ?
Thanks
I just wanted to say that I bought one figuring "for $20, how bad could it be?". The answer is, REALLY bad. The fact that someone ever thought this was a commercially sellable product is absurd. It's borderline unusably bad at the things it's supposed to do, and sure, there's a bit of third party development going on for it, but what I really wasn't prepared for is how cheap and shoddy the thing is. It's just not worth owning at any price point. Save your $20 and buy yourself some beers or something. You'll thank me later.

Can any one confirm if this still works on Galaxy Nexus with newest Android 4.2.1 its available on my country wanted to try this out just for as usual "Clock" and also music control capabilities. I'm on tight budget so I cant afford Sony Smart Watch (love its water proof thingy) so I may as well try this out.

Looks like price is down to $18. Someone reported finding it for $15.
If you see it that low, could you let us know?

Nexus 7 as a Presentation Aid

I'm a graduate student and spend a lot of time giving various presentations. I'm looking for an app for my Nexus 7 that will allow me to view my speaker's notes and toggle between slides during an active presentation in powerpoint. Anyone had luck with this? Seems like a perfect use for the device.
I'm unlocked and rooted, but still running stock.
You can download note cards from the app store. Depends on your requirements.

sounds like keynote on an ipad
I think somebody mentioned OneNote whereas you could take notes on the powerpoint slides or something of the sort

Details on upcoming major update to Nexus Media importer 4.0

Hi:
I've been beta testing Nexis Media Importer 4.0 with a release date scheduled for 11/23, Black Friday, and a public beta release coming soon.
NMI 4.0 has the ability for either full screen photo scrolling or a split-screen thumbnails/image. It also has an internal audio player that allows multiple selection of tracks for playback. Coupled with the existing video streaming and the ability to open pdf, doc and xls on the fly, it's turned into a complete solution for Nexus 7 external storage.
Users can still access Photos, Vidoes, Music, Docs etc through a scanning or Folder View as well as accessing the music player or full screen photos via a separate folder/Photo or folder /music menu.
It offers most of the same features you see in the Kingston Widrive without having to recharge any batteries. My 64gb Class 6 MicroSd card connected to an OGA cable, gives me all the data I need on hand to keep my Nexus 7 up-to-date.
There will no doubt be some more changes before the final release but I'm already a happy camper.

Black Friday is a psuedo holiday in the US. The day after Thanksgiving (which is always a Thursday) about 90% of the country has off, and it's the unofficial start of the Christmas season. Therefore a large number of stores use this day to hold their biggest sales all year, pushing their profits into the black, thus Black Friday. Its completely insane, and there tends to be some people who get hurt each year, but, arguably, it's the best day to get many big ticket items. If you can fight off the crowds. Example: several stores have 32" TVs for under 100$, so that's going to be a bloodbath.

That sounds horrible >.< I mean good deals and everything, but I can't stand extremely busy shops. Thanks for taking your time to explain though.
On Topic; I'm looking forward to this update, I bought the NMI a while back and has served me well.

I do a lot of video work and it would be handy to move files around when on location and no chance of a net connection anywhere. Stickmount does the job but it's no way near as elegant
Also back on topic: I've just been using Stickmount and a standard file explorer for a while now, and it's served me well. What would be the big draw for a user such as myself to use this application? Keep in mind, I am using the g-script mounting trick for obb data, so I don't know if this would be a 100% replacement for me.

Moment lens anyone?

Hi,
Has anyone got the Moment lens for the Nexus5?
The reviews got me to order on September 10th;
my debit card was charged on that day but there is no record of my order on their web My Account Dashboard and they are not answering my emails inquiring about my order status... (no customer service phone number )
Incidentally the company is Seattle based , so Google Nexus support is just logical...
Anyway could anyone comment on their Moment Lens ordering experience? I am understandingly concerned about my wallet.
Thanks
Update 09/25 1900 gmt:
I was able to talk to them over the phone (I think I caught MarcB? driving his car) and they should follow up on this matter.
Update:
I just got an email from Henry Romano and my order should be out within the week. Apparently the amount of traffic they received for the new iPhone 6 mounts crashed their site.
Order is now showing up in web account dashboard
Will post samples as soon as I get the lens (I ordered the 2x Tele lens)
That's pretty expensive. Let us know how you like it. Why did you think google nexus support was logical because they're in Seattle?

Well, perhaps not logical but more likely, as it is easier to develop a business relationship with your neighbours, especially if those plan to increase their devices photo capibilities (Android L).
And yes, it is not cheap, I believe its closest competitor is the Schneider iPro lens system, similarly priced (but not available on N5).
http://connect.dpreview.com/post/8486141252/schneider-optics-releases-ipro-lens-system-for-iphone-5
Imho pricewise it is targeted to photo enthusiasts that do not wish to carry an additional camera regularly (I do use a Sony NEX with EyeFI OCCASIONALLY)
I will post samples when I receive it

Well Google is in Mountain View, CA which is pretty far actually. Just saying =P
Ooops ; ) I am indeed clueless;
I have a family member that recently started working for them in Seattle, hence the confusion. I am my self 10,000 miles away from the West Coast.
I've got the Moment Wide for my GS5. It's nice BUT...... They don't seem to want to honor their warranty. Mine came to me usable but badly scuffed, I contacted via email in less than 24hrs of delivery and they are saying that the bayonet mount looks like it has been attached to my phone "enough times to show signs of use". Mind you I have had it less than 24hr at the time. Even though it functions fine, the barrel has two large gouges on the side. The quote from Henry, the customer care guy is, "it shows signs of use, there for we won't be able to help". So just take that into account. $90.00 with no real warranty... You can see how it looks on my Instagram if you want. PM me and I'll give you the account name.
As promised:
https://www.dropbox.com/sc/04zw7l04twl1fal/AACeccSDj4bcQW34P-tlny8sa
I just received so it's a very quick test
Just got my Moment Lens Wide, so far I'm happy with it.
Almost double increasing pictures without any quality decreasing.
Holder for lens is thin enough to nicely sits under google bumper case on my nexus 5.
Also, I was lucky to get one in Brand new condition.
Only one thing that bother me now is a caring that stuff.
hopefully, they will make holder for nexus 6 as well.
