Hello all,
I'm having weird caller ID issues with my Note II. I'm running the LiquidSmooth ROM 2.9 with the neak kernel.
Anytime someone tries calling me that is not in my phonebook, the caller ID displays strange ASCII characters. If someone is in my phonebook however, the name displays properly. Anyone know why this is happening and/or how to fix this?
Screenshot of issue is attached.
Thanks in advance.

I have my lock screen set to Productivity, which is where you get banners for Calls, Text eMail ect.
So when I get a Phone call from my Wife, for example on the lock screen banner it shows her Name.
But if I get a Text message from her it only shows her number.
The splash screen for the Productivity shows that you would get the persons name, like for the phone call if they were in your address book.
Anyone getting the caller id to work on text messages??
I just noticed this too
Very strange. I thought it was due to a custom ROM but maybe not.
To the OP, are you running stock ROM?
Has anyone else seen this issue? Any fix?
Cheers,
Scott

Just Tried To Recreate This Fault.. Im Using a Custom Rom So May Be Different But I Cant Get It To Happen At All...
Ive Tried It With Numerous Different Contacts And Theyre All Coming Up With Names...
Your Wifes Number Is It Saved To The Phone, Sim Or Google Contacts? Maybe Thats Making A Difference!
Thanks
is it as simple as the text coming through from +44 (or similar local international code) and the number being saved in it's national version?
I put money on it being due to you having more than one number listed under your wifes contact card.
Hello everyone,
Just wondering if anyone else here uses DeskSMS or BrowserTexting. I have a small problem and was wondering if anyone had found a fix for it.
Whenever I send a message longer than 160 characters on either of the remoteSMS websites, the SMS doesn't split and never gets sent. When I text on my phone, my Messaging application automatically splits the texts for me.
If anyone has found a fix, that'd be wonderful!
Thanks, all.
Bump.
Hey lads,
Changed my firmware to WanamLite 1.5 (with the RedPill kernel) and just found out that when I call a saved contact, on the "Dialing" screen all it shows is the number and when I hang up it asks me whether I want to save the number as a contact. Happens on every contact a have (no matter if saved as a google or a FB contact) Any ideas why that would be happening?
I did just install HaxSync and synced the existing contacts. Though i couldn't find anyone else experiencing that particular issue with their app.
Thanks in advance for your input

Update to latest version. It has this functionality.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
I've tested some rom's for the Galaxy Gio and i liked the most the Oxygen Rom 1.1.0. Here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002632
Although i found 2 problems with it. The lack of Gtalk and the fact that it doesn't display the contact name in incoming calls.
For Gtalk i started using the talkto app and problem solve.
Now for the contacts i don't know what to do because they're sync with google and they are display correctly in the contacts menu, only when people call me that it does show the contact.
If someone could help it would be very nice!

I think the problem resolved itself. Today the contact names are appearing as they should. I did nothing to the phone.
Hey guys, I just did a installation of cyanogenmod (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2555021) for my Ace II. I was running on a older version of CM11. SMS sort of works, I can send the message and others can receive, but it will show on my phone that there was an error sending. Also, if someone calls me, its said that the number is unavailable. When I call any number, there won't be any respond of any sort. Please help me. Thanks for reading.
