How to root t999, easy? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hey guys I got the s3 today and I need some help to root it. Is there a way that you can just flash the cwm zip file In stock recovery and root it?
Or is there a community custom kernel out there that u can just flash and it installs busybox and SU?

Run Root66 through Odin and it will Root stock for you.
Since you just got the phone today, I suggest you read around a bit before opening threads like this. There are tons of guides and the like out there, all for the taking and have been here for some time now. Check the Stickies and use Search in the Q&A section.
Good luck and welcome to the T999.

Get the stock rooted one to flash in Odin from the rooting no tripping flash counter thread in development.
I used to have the stock .tar but can't seem to find it now.
Even if you root you can easily flash back to stock

[Q] Is there an updated CWM and Root for Stock JB 4.1.2 UVMC6

I been searching for an updated guide to add CWM and Root the T989 w/stock JB 4.1.2, I am use to CMW, not really want to do the TWRP,
any suggestions?
I don't think there are any others. I've been using Twrp. Without issues. Just follow the developers recommendations and read the posts. Good luck.

Just use TWRP to root and then flash CWM.
And PM a mod to move this thread to Q&A where it belongs.
Moved, please post in accordance of the XDA posting rules.
And always use search before posting.

[Q] Unrooting question

I'm wondering why I can't find a sticky on how to unroot? I would think lots of us restore to factory again, unroot and start over, I'm surprised there's no guide stickied.
That being said - does anyone have a link or guide to returning to stock - or better yet returning to stock/rooted?
My phone really need a reformat...
Thanks!
There is a sticky in the general thread with exactly what you are looking for. Has root roms and other links in it.

[Q] Need Rooting Help Galaxy S3 SGH-T999

I watched you guys video on how to root this model and when I got to recovery mode and android appeared instead of the hat so it couldn't install the zip file. It also told me something about I didn't have a binary su installed when I tried to enter the superuser. I'm an very new at this and would like to learn more about this and know how to successfully root my phone. I also am running 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Thanks, all help is appreciated:fingers-crossed:
There are lots of guides to help you get started in this stuff. Search xda for noobs guide and you shoukd find a few. Then read all the stickies for our device.
And you must learn how to use Odin. No way to root without it.
Once youve read what's out there, we will be glad to answer questions and help out. But there's no reason for anyone to repost step by step what to do every time someone asks, when its all already out there.
