Guys, some support please..
I have rooted nu Galaxy Ace II with kernel.bin.5 and Messi 10. It was working fine until automated application update from Google Play store for several applications happened. After this system collapsed. As far as I can go now is recovery mode but it does not allow to mount SD card (Can't mount /sdcard/), therefore I cannot install... Factory reset won't do as well: unknown volume: /data; unknown volume: /cache.
Can you point me in the right direction please?
I don't think that this is the problem, but for being sure, did you look if your SD Card is still working?
(but normally it shouldn't impact system... )

If you want to mount in recovery you have to leave the text lines like:
-unmount data
- unmount sdcard
Cause what you read is that what happend if you tab on the line!

Well, I tried different SD with the same result unfortunately: unknown volume for path [/sdcard].

yeah, never had problems with this but this time is different, i.e. while attempting factory reset it comes back with:
unknown volume "/data"
unknown volume "/cache"
unknown volume "/sdcard/.android_secure"
it replies that way with almost every option in recovery mode I try to execute..

Like the title, I'm asking if there is a way to use MTP in CM9 for our device, like this.
Arco says that the MTP is a problem in every Samsung device with a CM9 but for GS2 for example is fixed.
No one knows how to make it working?
Thanks in advantage, and i'm sorry if I'm in wrong section or if isn't a considerable problem
i got a bug on that.. i think it is also affected by USB tethering..
My question is: Do you really *need* MTP?
If what you're after is a simple way to transfer files from/to the SDcard, I recommend using AirDroid instead.

take a look at 'Multi mount sd' or 'dual mount sd' at store, they solve the problem alternatively to native android connection, both cards are visible either on phone or on pc

eh, i quoted the wrong message.. these apps are the reply to general problem of visibility of storages on only 1 device - phone or PC
I tried to swap storage of my phone and now, when I open my phone, it refreshes itself after reaching samsung animated logo.
Which means my phone is not opening, just restarting after Galaxy W logo.
This was what I did.
- Install Root Explorer
- Open root explorer, go to folder \system\etc
- Download modified vold.fstab :
- Open root explorer
- Tick mount R/W ( So that you can edit system file )
- Extract the content of the file that you download just now and overwrite original vold.fstab with the downloaded vold.fstab in the \system\etc folder.
- Tick mount R/O
- Restart your phone and enjoy.
After that, I flashed couple stock roms with Odin, it gave the same result. Am I right ? My phone is gone away
From where did you download the modified vold.fstab ?
Have a look here also.
do you set permission after doing that?..

if your phone can still boot to recovery,, why not reflash your back up..
I did the steps here
mygalaxywonder.blogspot.com/2012/02/how-to-swap-and-unswap-memory-in.html
I downloaded files from there too.
My phone was already rooted and permission was setted.
The phone does not accept any flash. I tried many stock Rom's too. Like Turkish one, Europe one.
Isn't there anyway to save my phone ?
[SOLVED] Dont worry
hey bro I faced the same problem and solved it easily

3-format /system and wipe cache and delvik cache
4-install new rom like CM-9-rc6 (prefered)

6-reboot
iam out now will be back in 2 hrs hope you can solve it

Just swap the internal storage with your sd card and you will have bigger internal. If you are using cm9 go to settings > storage > press menu > there should be something like use external or such i don't remember > tick it and then restart

It depends what do you want.
I have got mounted whole /storage/emulated/0/Android/obb/ to /storage/sdcard1/Android/obb/ and it works fine with "Folder Mount".
You have to un-tick "Check destination folder".

This is not what i meant. I want to move the whole app to the external sd card, like in the older days of android.
Not that I know, You could try to flash a kernel with init.d support and try all the scripts like apps2sd, int2ext for me I happy with folder mount

My recommendation would be to just Odin back to stock, that way you'll wipe everything in the process.

If you don't mind,
I would suggest you to Reset the tablet and while resetting, you just have to check "ALSO WIPE SDCARD" so that it can wipe your internal storage. Or you can just manual format it in "Storage" section of Settings :good:

hey,
reboot to recovery, mount system and data, then connect through adb shell, then attempt to
remove from command line.
rm -f -r /<directory-name>
should do it.
my question is if this is a demo/floor model, could that "directory" actually be a partition, block device
like preload maybe.
while in android open terminal and run mount.

If you have root, then you CAN change the platform.xml file of course.
So be sure your device is rooted (maybe check it with this app.
you can enable sdcard access on two ways:
1. install sdcard fix from playstore
2. do it manually in platform.xml (root is necessary - see above) like described in this article.
Thx, concerning Your mentiond app i have root. But i can still not modify or save the platform.xlm nor can the sddix app from the store. I got an errormessage. Any hints?

Selinux block access to the internal storage - result (can not open any file on internal storage ; file not exist ; many other problems). Problem cause - diferent android version. From these reason NEVER use internal storage to store your important private data!!! Instead buy an external storage with more gb, for example 32gb ! If you not allready know, Sony pc companion software all time format internal storage, and its WITH REASON! Switching between diferent android versions ALWAYS require FULL format of the everything - CLEAN INSTALL, which mean you must format userdata including INTERNAL STORAGE everytime since internal storage is part of the userdata partition! If you not doing that than you must expect problems! If you restore backups from diferent android version allso except the same problems! Always restore beckups if backup is from the same rom like your backup, backup from another rom + not the same rom = problem! Hope things clear.
Thx. I flashed a new .108 and inkl. the wipe. Now system is running smothley and everything is fine.
