Xperia Play SO-01D stuck in FlashMode no Fastboot no booting - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello.
I've got an xperia play, which is carrier based, but unlocked, the owner says he tried to do an OTA update and now it is not booting.
When I press Power Button, it vibrate with green LED indication, then it blinks again in abt 1 second and nothing. It I keep pressing the Power button it constantly vibrates and flashes green LED - nothing on the screen.
When I connect to the computer again green LED is shown.
Flashtool states its in Flash Mode, whether I connect normally or with back button pressed.
However I am unable to get into fastboot mode, with any combination, if I press search button and connect the phone it shows nothing, and when I release the search button it connects in flash mode - according to flashtool.
any help?

why can't u flash a FTF file using flashtool as shown here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2054486

Thanks for your reply, but I DID in fact flash the following:
Code:
Xperia_Play_2.3.3_UK_Generic.ftf
It completes flash (shall I provide the log) via Flashtool Version 0.9.11.0
But nothing happens - its the same

As I've mentioned it only blinks when I press and hold the power button. .. it then vibrates a single vibration - at this point if I release the power button as we would normally do. .. The power button blinks in a second a single wreak blink and that's it. Nothing more. If I keep the power button pressed it keeps on looping this vibration and led blinking till I release it. .. which again doors the same as I've mentioned before.
Riffbox jtag havent responded yet whether this model is recoverable or not... so still no fix... the phones bricked.

Your loader seems to be damage, try one last thing:
- Run S1tool, press RESTOR button, connect the phone in recovery (green led) and flash.
The software can be find in different thread in xda.

[Q] [HELP] Phone doesn't turn on

Hello,
I got a new Xperia Arc S LT18a yesterday, I turned it on, everything was fine. A few minutes after being connected to the WiFi
I get a message to update my software, I say yes it got out of the android UI and showed some update animation and in the middle
it turned the screen off and that's it.
I tried to start the phone but nothing works, tried all sorts of key combinations, tried hard reset, nothing works the phone will not turn on.
I tried hard reset: back + menu + power button. Phone did not turn on.
The battery is fully charged.
When I press and hold the buttons, e.g. volDown+power the led on the right-hand side (where you plug the usb) flash in green color every second.
I tried flashing some kernels, no effect.
When I go into Emma, the Sony root/boot tool, can't remember, it shows this: (view attached)
Can anyone explain what the problem is and how to fix it please?
Thanks,
Oded

If you have locked bl try this:
Use PC Companion->Check for updates->repair(you will see this in message box).
For unlocked bl, flash stock ROM via flashtool.

Has anyone gone through the process of writing a new SEMCBoot that can help?
First of all, was you phone's bootloader unlocked?
Second, did you run a customized software? (custom rom, kernel, etc.)

I don't know if the bootloader was locked/unlocked when I got it from the factory/store.
I did not use any custom kernel/rom, I just booted the device up when I opened the package, a few minutes later
after connecting to WiFi I saw message about software update, that's when I clicked yes and then things turned bad.
Do you happen to know how to fix this SEMCBoot?
Emma shows that ur bootloader is locked :-/

[Q] {Q} L18i Stuck in flashmode

A friend bought an xperia arc s (l18i) and started having issues with it that same week.
Had it flashed that and everything seems to work fine, but then he had to bring it on a daily biases (have flashed to stock 3 times).
The final flash just does not go through and the phone is stuck in flashmode.
Some various symptoms that called for a flash to stock.
1. AndroidUI FC often making it impossible to use the phone (in stock)
2. Black screen at times and won't turn on
3. Stuck on "Sony Ericsson" Boot screen (the initial problem)
Now the phone is stuck in flash mode and cannot even enter into fastboot and also i am on ulocked bootloader, relock gives the same error log below
Nothing happens even when i press the power button
Using flashtool had the error log below

I am facing the same problem as him and i have tried excluding TA. But the same error still occurs.
BTW, mine is a LT15i, it cannot be turned on again after i turned it off 2 days ago. so, i am trying to flash it, but fail.
Do ur phone boot
Atleast a boot logo
If not then
TA - trim area (most sensitive area for unlocked bootloader)
U erased that area
U erased kernel which helps phone to boot up
So its super hard bricked
Don't worry it can be repaired
Go to xda arc forum
There is thread named red light issue

what is no verification?
your using flashtool right. to flash an ftf file. in the boxes where you choose what part of the ftf you want to flash. there are two un checked boxes one of them asking for verification of flashing

Can't relock Bootloader!

I had aicp_amami_lp-10.0-RELEASE-20150707 on my phone so far, but because of some bugs and the missing sony-camera app I'd like to go back to stock sony. For that, so I can have a unmodified and completly up-to-date version of it, I wanted to use the sony companion-repair-thing which I used quite a lot of times by now. problem with it is that you need a locked bootloader for that which, so far, was no problem thanks to flashtool. but now, for absolutly no reason, my phone doesn't want to relock. I put some very old sony stock firmware on it and also have twrp, tried everything, debugging is on etc. but nope, when pressing the "relock" button, the next time I'm opening the bootloader thing on flashtool it still says "relock". no error message though, nothing. It just says

after that it just says "relock" again and sony companion doesn't want to repair the device because of changed software which can't get updated (that means "lock you're bootloader or you can't repair it") but that excact thing always worked before, it just doesn't now, and I don't see why.
What's also weird about flashtool:
as you can see in the log above, I have the unlock-code saved in a "ulcode.txt" in the registered devices folder so the unlock-code is always already in the bootloader window. I wanted to try what happens when I delete that file and have to manually place the code in but when deleting the ulcode.txt it just comes back right when pressing the BLU button. How does that work and how can I get that away? It even comes back without internet connection, so it has to be saved in some different folder, right? But even reinstalling it and deleting all flashtool related folders didn't change it (could it be some kind of registry entry?).
I guess I got to stick to AICP until I have a solution for now.
Did you backup your DRM keys before unlocking? Restoring the DRM keys should also lock your bootloader.
If you haven't backed up you won't get full camera quality back:

No I didn't backup my DRM keys. But I wouldn't get how that can change the camera quality. That should only change on Hardware and on the App.
I haven't tried myself, but you read around here, that not are or were camera problems on Z1 compact if you haven't saved your TA partition.
You mentioned you have TWRP. Did you try with stock recovery?

I've changed cabel, reinstalled drivers, restarted pc (i cant restart phone cuz it will stuck at provider logo than i need to wait for battery to die),i tried with excluding kernel and not wiping data nor cache. I tried with 32 bit version and 64 bit version.
there is a reset button near the sim card on this device to restart
