[Q] Google Play detecting wrong carrier? - HTC One V

Hello, I'm new here to XDA. As forum policy requires, I have watched the XDA video and I know that one must fully search the forums (and Google) for the answers to their questions. Unfortunately, I haven't come across any solution to my problem:
Google Play is detecting the wrong carrier for my phone. Because of this, certain apps that were once compatible with my CDMA Cricket HTC One V are labeled "incompatible" for my device. Google detects my phone as Virgin Mobile as opposed to Cricket.
I have recently rooted my phone with RhythmicRom v1.4, and I have followed the advice from a previous thread to delete my app settings for Google play and remove my synced account, then resync. Nothing. I have also tried to follow the advice in another thread of checking the Web version of Google play to see if I can delete my phone and re-add it. Nothing again.
I assume it may have something to do with a file on the system, that perhaps one can edit? It's not so much as changing the name to what I want on the notification, it's more about what information synced networks such as Google are receiving about my phone.
I would appreciate whatever kind and non-sarcastic help anyone is able to provide on the matter. If you need any other information, I'd be more than happy to provide it. Thank you!

Thanks to a good friend, I got it worked out.
There's a specific app that exists, for those who don't want to go through the phone. It's called "Market Helper", and he referred me to a link here.

Helped after hours of searching to be honest.
Have a good day.

"V Cast Apps" Error - Something with the app, or my account?

Hey guys, I have a DInc for a work phone here, and we're trying to test something with the VCast Apps app, but when we try to get into it, it launches and gives us the following error:
"Error: Unable to verify your account information. Please call Customer Service."
Thing is, our Office Manager isn't in today thus VZW won't speak to any of us about it. Has anyone else experienced this before? I'm just trying to see what this error is all about. I've already tried going into Manage Applications and clearing out the data for VCast Apps, tried soft resetting the device, and I've made sure it's signed into GMail and all that stuff. I'm fairly sure it's an account issue but I figured I'd poke around XDA and see if anyone has any input
Thanks in advance, any help is greatly appriciated!
I've had that error too before. I don't use that VZW stuff still but if I remember correctly, I could turn off WiFi and that apparently helped it work for me.

Question on the Google App sync

So I tried searching beforehand but I didn't find anything really, so forgive me if it has been asked already.
The initial sync that the device does when you're first setting it up (like from installing a new Rom) syncs with your provided gmail account and starts installing all the apps you had up till the last data connection before wipe.
I'm curious if I can start this sync again without a data wipe/factory reset. Thing is, some of the apps simply failed in downloading, and would continue if restarted. I rebooted the phone before all of 'em were finished and would have to manually fetch them all over.
Now I know and have titanium and all the wonderfullness, but the sync is just preffered for me, and data by titanium. So is this possible? Is it so common I completely missed it? Or do I simply have to do a data wipe once more... Thanks for any and all replies.

Firstly, you are going to get flamed for posting this in the Development section, rather than the Q&A section.
Secondly, as far as I know, the initial sync is a one-time only operation. I do not know of any way to force the system to sync again, barring wiping everything.
If you've linked your device on the Market website, all your apps should show as installed on there under your account/profile area. From here, you should be able to install them again despite it saying it already is installed because once you click the install button, it will check your phone again to see if it is already on there. I had to do this myself and it saved me quite a bit of time.
This video HERE will help you with your problem.
Thanks for the info Nightmare. And yes, the video is all important, ill admit to not knowing everything there is to know about my device and its available services, thanks for the replies.
And mods can close/delete this, clicked through wrong favs in the app, sorry for the miss section, just realized, lol.

[REQUEST] Blueant Android Application

It's in the market, but it lists the Galaxy Nexus as incompatible. Prior reading has shown that this has been an on going issue on many devices (listing it as incompatible when in actuality, it would install fine and work fine). So I was wondering if anybody could post the APK file for the latest one (it's a free app, so I don't think this is against the rules, if it is please close the thread).
If this doesn't work, I was also wondering if anybody could make it compatible?
Please and thank you regardless!
Try Googling the APK. If its unavailable for the nexus to download then most of the people in this forum may not have access to it.
They also probably didn't update it for ICS which is why it probably shows incompatible. And it might be with the ICS drivers.
LTE EX Galaxy Nexus CM9
Asus Transformer Revolver
Check here http://www.myblueant.com/android/download.php
Email them, tell them to fix their app listing in the market so we can download it.

Funny, I didn't know what this BlueAnt app was until I bought one today and went looking for the App in the "Play Store". Did a google search and this thread popped up that I previously replied too. lol.
Seems to be working fine as far as the app downloaded manually from their website. Using it now, although it seems useless outside of "reading text messages".
But I'm having a problem with Name Announce. I went through a Jawbone which claimed to do it... and used several 3rd party apps to try to make it work, until I gave up and got this. I've synced my phonebook 3 times now but my work number, under "Corporate", but when I call it just says the number.
I use Email for exchange which syncs my work contacts into my gmail contacts. I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it. I'm going to try to delete the work number and re-create it under my gmail listings and see if that works.
[UPDATE]
Funny that worked. It won't sync my work exchange contacts, thus just reads the number. I would have to manually delete all the exchange contacts and physically add them in under my personal Gmail contacts.
This would work, but part of using the exchange is that it automatically keeps everything up-to-date with new/old employees.
I guess its time to report a bug to BlueAnt. Personal name announce is a step in the right direction at least... and I moved my main corporate number over so at least it covers 90% of my inbound work calls. We work in the field so I do get lots of calls from cellphones, which in this case wouldn't name announce.
Just a heads up for XDA and Google reference.

[Q] Google voice commands / voice search not working when gmail account added.

Hello everyone,
I have a very strange problem with my Samsung Galaxy Nexus that I cannot get support for and thus am turning to different forums looking for help.
Currently, my phone will do voice searches and other things that it is suppose to do (take a message, set a reminder, etc.) as long as I have not associated my google account with my phone. I created a short video of what happens so you can see it on youtube.
Since it seems like this is an issue with google, I really have not been able to get any help. I tried posting within the google groups for help, but no help as of now (maybe about 1 week has past.) Is there a google phone number I can call or an e-mail I could write to? I think that it has to do with my account so I really don't know where to go from here.
I did create a new gmail account (google account) and the NEW account works fine. It is my old account that I have had since 2009 that will not work. I really don't want to get a new account so any help would be really appreciated.
I did search the forums, but never found anything close to this problem and only one person posted a comment on the youtube video with the same problem (I think).
Since I am new I cannot post links to youtube. Here is the best I can manage to get you to the video of my problem. Use the standard youtube address followed by
/watch?v=CcEJo5oMAd8
I forgot to mention that I am on Verizon in the USA running Android 4.0.2. Baseband version I515.10 V.EK05 / I515.EK02
Kernel version 3.0.8-gaaa2611 [email protected]#1
Build number ICL53F
I also note that my phone was made in korea
Thank you for any help you can give me.

Not 100% sure how to regain your data if you don't have a google account linked to it anymore. If you did just going to play.google.com and having it send an app like GotYa. But if the person that took your phone did a full wipe on it recovering anything remotely sounds like more of a challenge than an easy task.
With the phone back in hand you _might_ be able to use some regular PC data recovery tools to pull data off the SD card even if its been deleted prior.
Not sure if Anyone will be helpful in tracking things down, Most of the time the phone company just wants to drop the connection on the stolen phone and move forward from there.
Hopefully someone else will have better information than I can provide though. I've only dealt with Lost phones, never actually had one stolen.
Install Plan B from the online Play Store.
Google +?
Did you have either Google + or Dropbox on the phone? Both backup photos if you enabled them during setup.
can't download from google play

I can't download from Google Play store. It says I never accessed from my phone. None of my google accounts worked.
Found my photos but I can not get closer that 323 yards to get my phone. And the police aren't interested because the only crime was the theft from my car. If it were my cold dead body they would look.
Can any of the IMEI or other information help me get closer? How? Force a download? Drag and drop into the apps I have on my google accounts?
Please help!

Always...ALWAYS link your data with your google account....unless you work for the CIA, FBI, a terrorist organization, or NSA. You can sync your contacts, photos, apps and app settings, you name it. There is no need to walk into a sprint store anymore to "transfer your contacts." I dont know why they even still offer that service when you can just simply sync everything now.
