Hey guys, I'm on a GT-i8160, recently flashed XXMF2 stock ROM. I was just wondering if there was a way to enable scrolling of the wallpaper without using any launchers or apps or something that would use up battery life some more. thanks!
Why you don't wanna use other launcher's? I recommend using the Apex launcher, the battery drain is slow, and it's highly customizable.
For me, TouchWiz is not the best. Get it.
You can enable it. Edit bools when you decompile seclauncher.apk. find aome line related to wallpaper and change it to true/false

But you think he is so advanced todo it?
Easiest way is to download kyrillosv8 rom and extract the seclauncher2.apk from that. it has scrolling wallpaper
Just replace it in /system/app (remove odex file too) then reboot. Should be a very easy process

I have been using 7zip to replace icons for my docked apps. The only one that has eluded me so far is the phone icon. I found the stock green phone icon in res\drawable and replaced it but it did not change on the app or dock. Usually the icon for others was in res\drawable-hdpi. Soooo my question is where the heck is the one I need to change. Thanks.
I believe its in dialertabactivity.apk
Thats where it takes the icon from

Now, any idea where that default apps icon is stored? The white 16 square rectangle that Zeam, launcher and LP use? Is it in Framework-res? I can't find it in Zeam so think it is in the system somewhere. Thanks.

What launcher are you using? It is in the laucher. I use adwex, one of its features is the ability to change the icons....I change them all the time.

Zeam. It's not in the drawable-hdpi where I found all my other icons for apps.
The way I do it sometimes it just open the apk with 7zip, the take the res folder and drag it to the desktop, or whatever, open it in windows, and change the view to large icons, then you can look at all the images in the apk and find what you want.

Yeah, that is what I have been doing, but Zeam has so many drawables... I guess I have no choice but to look at them all. Really though the apps icon was a system default a lot of launchers used.
Got it! Had a wierd name action_apps_grid or something like that. Thanks for the help. I have made my phone my own now...
I have decompiled the 4.1.1auncher apk and am making some edits to make it better for 240dpi. Can anyone tell me which XML file I can disable the search bar in.
I've figured out how to changed to rows with the cell count option. And I think I know how to edit the margins using cell width in the dimens XML file.
Please don't say nova does this etc. The new stock launcher is so smooth and nice in 4.1.1 and I want to keep it. Android is about choices. So there there is another thread with people doing this but he seems to have gone quiet so I was going to fill the requests in that thread.

If you download a custom launcher from the market you can change the names to whatever you like. GO Launcher EX will allow you to change the names however due to GO Launcher being a RAM hog your phones performance will slip a little. I'm unsure if other less-RAMhogging launchers will let you do that but you can look on the market.

Yes. It's been a while since I used GO Launcher so I've forgotten how you get the menu up to change it, but it definitely works.

Then that requires editing of the launcher apk which can be found in /system/app/ its called touchwiz30launcher.apk
Give me the specific icon pack you'd like to use, and I can recompile it with the new icons and upload a flashable version for you.
(Assuming youre using a rooted rom and running the default tw launcher.)

So you want the browser icon to be a chrome icon? Yes. Just tell him what icons you want. What color, what "pack". Do you want stock Jelly Bean Icons?

no the icon, i mean rearrange (i think thats the word ) instead of having stock browser there, put the chrome (no icon, i mean launch chrome instead of stock browser for example)
Long press on the icon and drag it. If I'm understanding you correctly.
Edit: I forgot that it was different in twlauncher.
1. Open app drawer
2. Menu -> edit
3. Drag chrome over top of the web icon, it should replace.
4. Hit back until you get to the home screen. (Home will undo your changes).

I've been looking to do this myself, but I'm a bit freaked out to try doing so. Would you be willing to offer me the same thing?
I'm running Hyperdrive RLS6 on a Galaxy S4. I paid and downloaded the "Future Blue" icon pack and have been changing one icon at a time with the free Icon Changer, but it's a huge pain and extremely time consuming.
Go Apex!

Can you show us some tips, for example, how to replace the stocked folder icon with another one? I'm eager for the tutorial ! Many THX.
How can I disable wallpaper scrolling? Do I just need to download the stock tw launcher and replace the current one with that? Since the rom is odexed I would need to delete the .odex files as well correct?
Thanks in advance!

wallpaper scrolling is dependent on the launcher used. It can be disabled inside the launcher settings. No need to delete anything.HTH
There are no launcher settings for the touchwiz launcher
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
It depends on the wallpaper. I use a live wallpaper called Water Drop. It gives you a ripple effect similar to the stock unlock screen when you touch it. In the settings for it you can choose whether or not to scroll along with a bunch of other options. You can also use it with whatever picture you want as the background so it looks like you want it to.
I think it's ROM specific. Mine won't wallpaper scroll unless I select the option in AROMA during install. I use FreeGS.
It is launcher dependent, for example apex launcher supports it. I do believe there is a modified tw launcher that supports it, but I couldn't tell you where.

TW comes in different variations, which are ROM specific.
