Hi,
I'm just wondering if anyone else is suffering from this problem.
When my battery gets down to 20% or lower if I use the camera (without flash) for approx 1min when taking multiple photo's my phone turns off and the power button has to be used too power it back up.
it happens with both photos and video.
I haven't tried a different ROM yet, I am on ARHD with TripNDroid Kernel and have tried camera mod's too to try and prevent it.
I assume its because my battery may possibly be on its way out and its not providing enough current, but just curious to see if anyone else has seen this.

Please can I get some assistance, I cannot for the life of me figure out what has happened.
LeeDroid 3.3 latest.
I have gone from 48h standby to 14h. During use it's depleted in a matter of hours, it's incredibly low in relativity to what I'm used to.
I was on LeeDroid 3.0.2 previously and battery life was VERY long, I loved it - going back to this version doesn't help and the battery issue remains, and therefore it also remains on the newest build.
Previously I was running a bucket load of apps/games with normal 50% brightness, I have resorted to deleting apps/keeping tasks closed but to no avail. The Statistics for battery usage seem to look similar to how it used to be before, with display taking up a large chunk.
I tried the battery trick today but it hasn't helped. My phone has already gone to 98% (40m uptime) with screen turned off + SetCPU set at powersave/lowest mhz while screen is off.
I hope you can help, Thanks.
This does happen sometimes, not sure what causes it but a wipe and reflash sorts it out for me.
What kernel are you using? Have you made any recent changes before massive drain started happening?
Try monitor the current using current widget. If it's normal, around 1-4ma during standby, perhaps, your battery need calibrated. If it didn't resolve your problem, then, maybe the battery is dead.

I dont think this is the problem because when it happens to mine it just happens by itself after a few weeks of having the ROM installed with very few extra applications which I install immediately.
anyone know if the proximity sensor is classed under display? could be that thats stuck on. got any apps that use or used the proximity sensor? or maybe the touch screen is stuck on.
have you tried removing the SD card? see if its something on there.
Well I reinstalled Leedroid with the recommended rom and although the battery life is nowhere near what it was previously... its at a respectable 22h or so... enough to give me time to actually find a fix...
Theres no apps, nothing, just the rom and its apps so I will try it without SD card also, i dont understand how to check for proximity sensor though
Thanks
Hello Mates,
I am using Wildpuzzle ROM v0.8, which is having many problems in its stage.
The camera fails to operate sometimes. But I do managed to make it working using an external application.
The major issue remains of the BATTERY.
Its been a disaster for me to use it when EDGE 'on'. When the downloading is taking place, this phone starts draining the battery within 30sec for each percent. Presently i get the battery backup of around 120mins max on data usage.
One more issue lies in, the battery wont get charged beyond 71%. I need to reboot so that it shows somewhere more than 90%.
I have tried to reflash the v0.8 rom but facing similar problem again.
Will Radio update be a better option?
Can you recommend any better Sense Enabled Froyo?
Is this the bug in the ROM itself?
Help me, with your suggestions.
Thank You.
Recalibrate your battery. Just perform a search on XDA, there are many guides. It cant be a bug with WildPuzzle because I have personally tested it extensively, and this issue didnt exist.
Only after a fresh flash of a ROM, I get very bad battery life, but this is normal in all ROms I have tried. After 1-2 charge - discharge cycles, it fixes itself.
But because you are facing issues like it doesn't go beyond 71%, then jumps to 90% etc - Your battery definitely needs recalibration.
Hi there!
This topic is continuation, but much more specific than my last one topic: (Screen starts to glow on it's own???).
Please do not close this topic, if you need - close the old one, thanks in advance.
I have problem, like in the topic: while in sleep mode, my phone's screen lights on, then off, and repeats for few times every couple of minutes.
It's problematic for three reasons:
1. my screen battery consumption is now over 60% (I don't use my phone frequently for last few days to check the problem - but still, consumption is very high)
2. due to point number one - very fast battery usage (less than a day)
3. it lights on like a lamp in the night, so I can't keep it near me
I have made small research in google and found out, that that is not a new problem, as you can see for yourself:
http://www.htconeforum.com/forum/htc-one-x-help/443-htc-one-x-blinking-while-sleep.html
http://www.htcdesiresforum.com/htc-...creen-blinks-once-every-minute-in-sleep-mode/
http://www.htcdesireforum.com/htc-desire-troubleshooting/screen-keeps-flashing-lock-screen/
etc.
I have no apps in the background running, I have wifi or other data transfer disabled for the moment. I have also done factory reset for 1 time - no luck here as well.
There seems that there is no logical explanation of the problem, and due to the reading I've done - seems like a software issue rather than hardware.
Please advice! :crying:
1. are you on stock?
2. when it started this behavior?
3. was there an update for your system before this behavior? (applies only if you are on stock).
these are questions you'll need to answer in order to get help. if you are on stock, the only help i can suggest is to root your device and at least flash Titanium Kernel #5 - that should definitely increase battery life but idk if it will cease your problem. another suggestion is that you can flash a custom rom that 99% of the time will solve it.
cheers
Up until last night, the battery tab in Settings showed me the breakdown of each process that was draining the battery, including screen. Now it only shows that Android OS is using 100% of the battery and that it's been on for 248 days? Tried restarting and it's still showing up this way. Any ideas how to fix? Thanks!
I don't own one of these devices(yet), but based on android knowledge I'll give some recommendations.
are you rooted or modified in anyway?
if so fix permissions and reboot. if that doesn't work clear your battery stats.
If not I'd try shutting it all the way off and plugging it in to charge. don't press the power button. If its like my other Samsung devices it should come on by it self when you plug in the cable and kick in to a battery charging mode just showing an animated battery in the middle of the screen. let it charge from there until full then turn it back on.
short from doing a full wipe I can't think of anything else to tell you.
You might want to contact Samsung or poke around the web see if anyone else have experienced a similar problem Ive never seen anything like that in a stock rom.
I'm assuming you have already tried taping the refresh button in the upper right hand corner.
when you tap on the graph at the top of the batter stats does it show you the time breakdown of the wifi and screen and such along the bottom?
oh also make sure your software is fully up to date.
hello
i had resurrection ROM and suddenly the phone turn off battery turn from 50 to 7 and turn off again and didn't stop unless i connect power cable
i format the device to ARHD ROM and its still doing it
but the problem is when im in TWRP it doesn't turn off with out power cable so it probably not the battery
any help please what it can be?
I have come across this problem of rapid battery loss but not as severe as yours, it took only 9 minutes for my whole battery to drain from 100 to 10. But i also did switch roms and even recovered stock firmware but nothing seemed to work. After a while, i kept switching and switching roms and eventually, the power issue stopped, i had no idea what happened. Is it because i don't use my phone often Anyways a battery replacement would probably be necessary if the problem still occurs. This power issue is inconvenient and would like to know if someone else would be able to know of a better solution.
