This should be posted in the Official LTE thread
And you should always call your carrier to see if a tower is down

[Q] If I buy an international galaxy s3 will I get 4G

I live in las vegas and seems like were getting 4G on international devices. Will this work on the galaxy s3 international and htc one x international? How are the speeds?
Thanks
Tmobile users can only get edge on the int. S3

Woops sorry guys I posted this in the general section. Well I heard that kansas and las vegas does support those bands
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
I know it works the other way around.

I wouldn't take the chances with las Vegas. Although they are refarming Vegas isn't the best place for T-Mobile. It's on and off a lot
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
It will work on hspa+ I get between 6-9mbps in las vegas área with the iPhone which is the same bands as htc one x and gs3 international, I'll post screen shots tomorrow

I think that's how it is no matter where you're located with T-Mobile. :\
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
As said previously, I wouldn't count on it for day-to-day service. If it works in Vegas chances are Vegas is the only area you'll be in that it works. T-Mobile is very slow with this whole refarming business
Sent from my SGH-T999
Yup Vegas was recently refarmed so any international or at&t device will work there.

No LTE icon means you are not getting LTE.

I'm in phoenix. and those results look a whole lot more like HSPA+ to me. biggest indication of LTE right now is insanely fast (10+mbps) upload speeds.
no LTE for me here in east phoenix yet. but i'm in a marginal signal area.
I'm in West Phoenix/Glendale area. I've not seen LTE over here either.

Help with signal bar icons.

I have the GS4 from T-Mobile (obviously) and I recently flashed the Slimbean rom and it's great but when I turn my data on I sometimes get an H or a DC icon instead of 3G or 4G, and I also never had this happening in any Touchwiz roms. I've been looking everywhere for what it means and I sort of have an idea but is it bad or should I just ignore it? Any feedback on this would be great!

H is 4g.

Yeah thanks but I know that already, H is more of like 3.5G. What I'm more concern of is the DC icon. What does it mean and/or is it bad, anyway to fix it?
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk 4
DC is DC-HSPA+, to my knowledge, dual HSPA+ (from two nearby towers I believe).

So with that being said, is DC better than H or 3G then?

It's possible to get better speeds out of DC-HSPA+ over regular HSPA+, however sometimes it doesn't make much of a difference.
