Issues with ICS - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have issues with my Xperia Arc S for some games, Can't play Iron man 3 on it and I can't play several other games when they are backed up. I use Titanium Backup. I back up them and then I try to open the game and it says: Unfortunately app has stoped... Is there any solution for this?
Thanks in advance.

Depends if they were backed up from a gb rom or ics, maybe a data issue. Either way, the best thing to try is restore the app first then the data.

Restoring games after flashing new firmware.

I have not seen any threads about this so I have to ask this now. I am tired of flashing new firmware but then having to update each game over wi-fi all over again. Using root explorer can I just save the files in the mnt\ASEC folder to my SD card & simply restore them after (ex. \mnt\asec\com.gameloft.android.GAND.GloftAsp6.asphalt6-1.asec)? Or is it mnt\secure\asec\ com.gameloft.android.GAND.GloftAsp6.asphalt6-1.asec? Do I have to change permissions? Is this even the folder that has the full updated data or am I looking in the wrong spot? And then should I install individual game's APK after the transfer?? I would think this would allow someone to save games and share them with other xperia play users as well? Any help is much appreciated.
Why not backup all your games in titanium backup with data before flashing new firmware?
I really did not think of that. :| I know I can restore the app(or game), but would I be able to restore the apps data on a different firmware without getting problems or fc's? Especially when flashing different custom ROM's I know certain apps may not work when you try to restore the data as well.

Games should be fine when transferring from one ROM to another because games are supposed to run on different devices and they don't really take a phones hardware profile/rom into consideration when running...
I transferred stock to cyanogen and didn't have any issues, Apps like video players/ad blockers/audio player might be a bit of a bother but you could easily reinstall them.
Well this sounds like a good solution to me and its simple too. And since I have always used used titanium backup anyways it would seem I have always had backups to my games. Now you see why I had to ask.lmao. Thanks for pointing this out and hopefully this helps someone else out.
Ok im back to the same question again about where the actual game update data is stored again. I was successful before restoring game on my phone ,but say I want to share my games (that are already updated) with a friend on another xperia play, then is there a folder that I need to manually transfer over to their SD card that has game data? Basically I did backup of the games with "TB" on my phones SD then I put that SD card in other xplay, restored to root of phone, booted up game fine without need to update over wifi message but after reboot. I got the same damn message.... ??
*EDIT**
After reading on different sites I think that on the SD card I have to have a folder called Gameloft/Games/(x). X will be a specific folder for game (EX.GloftA6HP for Asphalt 6, Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus is Games/GloftBPHP ). Without this Data file in proper place I guess you are forced to do updates over like me.lol. If anyone cares. Hope it helps.

Titanium Backup ICS -> GB

I know there are issues with some apps when restoring data from ICS to GB, as I have experienced the lot of FCs that occur when you do so. Searched quite a bit to see if there was anything like this posted, so forgive me if I didn't have the correct parameters in my search and missed it.
It got me thinking...
Is it possible to edit any of the files within the Titanium Backup data to make it compatible from one to the other and vice versa or would it "brick" the data?
If it's possible, would someone be willing to share their Titanium Backup of GB data (from Temple Run or Fruit Ninja preferably as it seems to effect games more often than not) so I can look into it a bit further [EDIT: by comparing the data files to my ICS backups]?
If not, then I guess we're SOL.
Yea, some of my saved games wouldn't even load back on gb. Had to start all over again on blast monkeys.

While I admire the initiative to learn to bend android to your will... This ^^^ idea would be very involved, take some specific tools, (to extract the images), and incredible know how to alter things accordingly. Pretty sure the process would involve flashing your target operating system, creating a TB back up of said game, app, etc, then painstakingly diffing it against your existing backup from other android version.
Might just be easier to start fresh with the game or app on gb, ics, jb, Froyo, whatever, then create a new group in TB where you backup said data, based on version of android.
That's what I do.

Can't you just backup the app/data, then on a fresh flash, install the app form Market, the restore data with TB?

I'll look into it this weekend if I have time for the multi-flashing, else it would be great if someone could share their GB Titanium Backup of some app (as mentioned, preferably Temple Run) and I would just dive right in.

Unfortunately no, not when going from ICS to GB. From ICS to ICS or GB to GB, yes.

Hmm, odd, because I have gone back and forth from ICS to GB and back without a problem

If that's the case, my guess is that it's dependent on the app then.

Had no time to do multiple flashes this weekend. If someone else has time to do so, or if they're already on GB, it would be appreciated if you could post your Titanium Backup of an app (Temple Run preferred).

As usual, HipKat is correct. :good:
I had some time to flash Reloaded this morning and did a restore of my Temple Run's Titanium Backup (TB from now on). Lo and behold, it force closed right away. From there, I went into manage applications to clear the data. After clearing, I opened Temple Run again, to do a run so I could prep it for a TB, to compare the GB files to the previous ICS files that I had.
After clearing the data, however, it seemed to get rid of the FC issue, but still maintained the TB data, meaning that the ICS data was still intact, and functional after flashing back to GB. :victory::victory:
Hopefully this is the case for everyone. I'll report back shortly to see if it works again, because I believe I have a faulty download of the Reloaded .zip causing Aroma to not install everything that I selected. I'm currently re-downloading the .zip as I type this out, so I'll be re-flashing shortly. Once I re-flash (and hopefully the Aroma options carry over this time), I'll check and see if the TB data will be maintained again.
I don't know if it's fixed, because I've been of Reloaded for a while, but as it was, installing TB from Aroma caused and FC. What I do is add the tb app and it's lib file to the ROM.zip before I flash it so it's pre-installed

Yeah..I am seeing no probs either. I have been back and forth from GB and ics all week. I usually flash the fresh ROM, then go to market and install tb fresh before restoring app and ata, no fc at all...all is well

Eternity Warriors 2 titanium backup

So its hard to play games on Android for me because i am constantly flashing new ROM's Currently i am on WhitehawkX's 8/23 JB rom, i came from the 8/14 one and did a Titanium Backup. However when i restore it in the new ROM it tells me complete but then makes me start the game over? I sure wish they had cloud storage for this one like they do Dead Trigger. Anyone know a work around or something that might help?
You should try MyBackup Root or App2Zip I found that both work much faster and easier than TiBu. They both save the apps data you just have to tell it to save the apps data. Good Luck.
have you tried it on EW2 by any chance? Ill give it a shot but wont know if it works till my next flash lol!
TB also has the option to backup the data
you just need to set the correct size
default size is 30MB way too small
set it to like 2 GB as it's most games now in days
Have you figured it out? I have lvl 55 in eternity warriors and i figured that ... if I change rom or something - i'll lose everything ...

[Q] Titanium Backup restore issues

Having an issue restoring my apps from Titanium Backup to my GN2. The apps that were backed up were running on my old phone...OG EVO, I rooted my phone, have 32 gb sdcard from old phone in my GN2. When i try to restore ANY app it just sits there and says "restoring app" , so I go to application manager and force stop TB. Is it because those apps are only good if restored to my OG EVO? Main reason I rooted was so I could restore alot of my apps I used before.
Thanks for any and all help!
You could try clearing the data of Google play store. That improves things for me usually but I can't guarantee it'll work

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
if worst comes to worst, and if your EVO was rooted, you can copy the /data/app "apks" on to the card then xfer the card to the N2 and install the app apks that were installed on the EVO and install them one by one, which you are doing the same anyway with TB.
that is what i do...... instead of a backup app/restore when changing to different phones, there are just to many variables that came make the restore fail.
also as you know, the play store has a history of all the apps you have downloaded except the ones you got on the side...lol. Good Luck

Returning to stock ROM Xperia M

Hi all,
Over a year back, I updated my Xperia M(C1904) to JB 4.3(latest build) and the experience since then has been quite mixed for me. While I am loving the updated walkman, album and movies apps as well as the apps and of course, the camera, constant lags has been ruining my experience as a whole. Furthermore, dunno for some reason, my internal memory keeps on decreasing despite not installing any new apps or updates and clearing cache constantly. So now I wish to revert to the original build(JB 4.1) which was super smooth although I will be compromising on my camera. So I have a few questions:
1) How to revert to original ROM? (Factory reset maybe?)
2) I play subway surfers and have unlocked a lot of stuff. If I backup my game data and restore it upon reverting to original build, will the game data remain in tact?
Thanks
You simply need to flash an older version of the firmware to your phone.
This page has detailed instructions on how to do so, as well as links to various firmwares. Although some of the links are dead...

Thanks but I will rather use sony's official flash tool instead one last thing, what about my subway surfers question?
Thanks
Helium app by ClockworkMod from Google Play may work...
Didn't try it because never needed it. I'm just mentioning it because it is the most used app for data backup of games and apps. But also Google's own backup and restore option from Settings>Backup&restore>Account for backup may also work. Good luck.

I don't know about Subway Surfers, but the official flash tool (Emma) doesn't support the Xperia M. :|

You can copy the com. files of subway surfers and later paste in the internal storage after flashing 4.1. It would be better if you take the apps backup with Sony's Backup & Restore App.
