Hello All,
Recently moved from HTC Sense to Viper ROM and then to Cyanogenmod 10.1.2 Kernel 3.1.0, and the phone fails to lock on to GPS. It used to be good in HTC Sense stock and Viper but ever since moving to Cyanogenmod there is this - also the battery life is terrible. any suggestions or fixes.. please help as I like this rom except for the battery and GPS issues

[Q] CM 7.2 based roms and GPS stability

What is the current state of CM based roms stability with GPS? The last time I ran CM 7.2 RC1 the GPS would turn off as soon as the screen went off so I went back to MIUI. I'm getting bored of MIUI and need something new so I want to switch back to a CM or CM based ROM but need the GPS to work. Just curious if the AGPS script would help this or if it's an ongoing issue.
well, i'm running cm7 rc2, had none of those problems with gps, works fine.

[Q] There is a stable rom without reboots?

I need my DHD for work, I have currently the prime Sabsa Rom 8.5 and I've tried a few and I can not find one that is stable, without restarts and without stay frozen, from time to time. I have bad luck or may not have an updated rom without these problems?
Any advice?
1. wrong thread!? how can you miss that lol.
2.something that you are doing is making the rom reboot or its a bug, post the problem to the thread. maybe they can help you
Wrong thread. But if you need stable rom you should try any GB based rom e.g. Energy, RevolutionHD,LeeDroid and so on. Do not install ICS based rom 'cause they are not stable enough for daily use or have some minor bugs which can drive crazy.
The only stable, fully working sense roms are the sense 3.x roms.
Affinity
Android Revolution
etc.
All the ICS roms except Icecoldsandwich have major or minor bugs like camera issues, dialer issues or non working headset buttons.
So, if you want a stable rom I'd personally recommend a sense 3.5 rom.
Try aospx by existz. I found it very stable. Ran it for weeks now issues. Now I have moved on to jelly time.
Sent from my Inspire 4G
try official cm7 or official HTC roms.
and move this thread some1.
the most stable ics rom I find is Existz AOSP. it's located in the inspire development :good:
In the end I did was to format the SD card, hacele one full Wipe, install the rom 8.0 and then the 8.5 and after a week I work very well.
Thanks for your interest.
Jellytime is very stable ive only had one reboot since i started to use it..

This question is asked many times. Yes flashing a new kernel would help.
I advice you to flash NCX kernel.
You can read more about this or other kernels available for AOSP Roms in the Original Development thread.
EDIT: In my own experience, Sense roms have better battery life in comparison to AOSP roms. But AOSP roms come with lots of goodies! Easier life!
Stable xm is also good. I guess 188(v4)
You can not flash franco, since it is based on ICS source.
So will the NCX kernel work on CyanogenMod 10.1?? Will it help improving the battery life?

[Q] {HELP} Phone gets warm easily and battery drain after installing custom roms

Help me guys, I'm new to flashing so I don't have much knowledge of the subject. Anytime after installing a new custom rom on my Sprint LG Optimus G the upper half of the phone seems to get warm to the touch easily even with minimal usage, the only time it will cool down is when the screen is locked. Also, no matter what rom I flash the battery seems to drain very quickly compared to stock rom. The roms I have tried out so far are Cyanogenmod 10.2 stable release, SuperNexus 4.0 Build 1, and Cyanogenmod 11 M2 Snapshot. I really want to get past this issue and stick with a stable, customizable, and efficient JellyBean or KitKat rom to use as a daily driver. Any help and/or advice would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] ROM for best stability?

Hi guys, can you recommend me the most stable ROM for XS ?
I used FXP CM10 for nearly 2 years, it was very good, but old.
CM 10.1 UNOFFICIAL - ok, but reboots sometimes
Carbon ROM - not ok at all
CM 11 Xperia Overlay - not stable, reboots at least once a day.
Point is, I cannot afford to miss a call or reboot randomly.
Thanks!
