She forgot the unlock pattern or google email/password? If she forgot the pattern, then there is no way afaik except a factory reset by going to boot loader. If its the google email password, just visit their website on a pc and click forgot password.

I have pulled out the battery reinserted it but still its not functional or responsive. Can any one guide me any fix regarding the same.

Hi Thanks for your response. Latest one. 3.0.0.26
This might and might not..
I would format the sd card, then connect the phone to the PC and flash an ruu file.

People I am really looking forward to your replies over here Kindly help me out =)
Well I am just waiting to get my hands back on the phone and I am thinking of doing the same. Should i remove the SD card during that or i keep it in? I am flashing the RUU 1.32 one. Whats your suggestion?
I would format the sd card, insert it back into the phone and flash an ruu of your choice.
I had an issue where the screen stopped completely responding (wiping, switching roms and restoring the nandroid backup didn't work. I flashed 1.32 that's what I would recommend.

hi, there...
plug your DHD into your computer and try adb
type
>adb devices
IF your device is listed, then type....
>adb logcat
and paste the message here (upload it on a .txt file) or just paste it here, your choice.
EDIT: does the HTC splash screen appear? (White BG with HTC logo)?, is that where it hangs?

Nope no device is shown
The main concern i have is if the device is dead or has a faulty hardware which it should cuz i just tried to partition the sd card why does it make a connecting sound with the pc when attached without an SD card. It shouldnt. It needs to be worked out.
People I've read some awesome work of you guys here. I am sure you can easily break this issue down i need your attention.
have you tried adb logcat without typing adb devices? (it worked with me once, it didnt show up under devices but logcat worked)
Also, go to 'Device Manager' in windows. Do you get an unrecognized device? or a 'Android USB Device' or something of the sort?
EDIT: leave the sd-card out for now...or format it (not quick format) and put it back in
It is displaying an unrecognized device as QHUSB_DLOAD

[Q] Dead screen, I need screenshots

My HTC One X has a dead screen. The actual OS, lights and touch digitizer work as they should.
I have a lot of documents and photos on the phone that I would love to get off the phone via USB, but I cant quite get to the settings page without a screen.
If there is a way to pull the data off without having to go into the settings and set USB to file transfer, or if someone can send screenshots so I can see where to tap, that would be great.
I need a screenshot of the password screen (keypad), the settings screen all the way until i get to the usb screen, if anyone would please.
Thanks. First thread.
What recovery do you have (a custom one?) You can boot into that and enable ums and then retrieve data.
I may guide you

Recovery? I dont know what you are talking about, so I believe i use stock. I stumbled upon a different way to get the files off via a hack on a different thread, but its ADB hack. Im a little clueless with this, but if you could guide me that would be appreciated.
The other thread i found is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1573744
Ah you are fully stock, no unlocked bootloader and custom rom ?
Well at least we can try this :
Download android SDK bundle (Google ) and unpack it to lets say :
C:\android
So we can find it easily ! Navigate with windows explorer to that folder and unfold the folders to a folder named "platform-tools" and check that you have adb.exe inside that folder.
Hold down shift and right click the mouse, select "open command window here.
Now connect the phone and type :
Adb devices in the command window

It says "List of devices attached" and nothing else, then goes back to where it was. My phone does come up in "My computer" as drive K, but it cant be opened, probably due to the phone not allowing access, yknow when you hook it up it asks what you want it to do with the USB, like sync or charge, but its defaulted to charge only. But yeah, ADB DEVICES doesnt really do anything as far as I notice.
Then you probably have the problem that usb debugging is not enabled
You are on JB .... do you know how to get the phone on its homescreen ?

You got your screenshot. If you are on the homescreen after the pincode the MTP should be enabled and your sdcard should be accessible

I had no luck unlocking the phone. I believe I did, but it still didnt show up on the command prompt.
Im sorry I dont have much knowledge on android, but i presume there is no way to directly pull data from the device, without having to unlock it, correct?
Edit
I dont think the digitizer is functioning anymore. I cannot get any touch response out of it anymore. Is it a goner?

Sorry for the late reply, but, It still has internet connection and I can install an app from the Play store remotely. I just cant run it due to the broken screen, but, if possible, is there a remote-access app that doesnt require setup that you know of? Or an app that enables file access somehow, Im not sure.
Or im still out of options. thanks again for your attention.

Hello to everyone!
This description is very good, but unfortunately I can not help of mind. The Freetab 2099 tablet is set, the OSD, I forgot, offered through the recovery gmail account, but the machine is not connected to the Internet, and it can not be solved. The Windows XP felimeri the machine, but only shows an empty folder adb driver installation, and Total Commander, however does not see downloaded from the manufacturer's website drivers installed, but not working this solution, a multitool can not find device. Maybe a factory reset would solve the matter but has not yet been described find or install a new rom that is. Img extension of the manufacturer's side, but I do not know bekepcsolni debug mode on the machine, it does not allow the zárképrnyőről to move on.
If anyone knows a solution to my problem, thanks in advance.

Hi there, i have tried to use the following software but it doesnt work
so basically I have a samsung G3 i9300T and I know the pattern code but i still want to try out.
firstly when i ran the Multi-tool, it doesn't recongized my phone. So i realized i have to turn on USB debugging in order to let the software to detect my phone.
So i have turned the usb debug mode on and it finally picks up my phone.
Press 1 and it has my serial number, good, good. Then I go to option 3 as you mentioned in order to unlock pattern lock.
It reboots, and the pattern lock is still sitting on screen. So i tried to swipe anywhere on the pattern lock but it doesnt allow me to go further unless i input the right code.
Now i am wondering what could went wrong?

[Q] HTC One X Need to get data off phone that doesnt pass Boot Animation/Red Triangle

Hi,
I need to retrieve my 1) contacts, 2) Messages. If someone could help i would be really grateful and appreciative.
My HTC One X is standard with no mods (software/hardware).
Ive never updated firmware from 4.0.2 i believe.
Recently i downloaded a few programs from Play store.
I dont know if that was what caused the problems but i started getting problems with the apps closing/crashing.
Long story short spoke to O2 whom im with who were no help just wanted me to factory reset. Spoke to Dialaphone who said factory reset. And tried a couple times with HTC with the second time the girl advisor suddenly saying she will terminate calls while i was talking of options and hwen i stated i had done nothing wrong ie did not raise voice, did not say anything bad/derogatory etc and why she was doing that she cut the call off. I was understandably very angry, and i feel i will not be buying a HTC again with that kind of treatment.
As i couldnt get into play store due to crashing apps. I rang HTC. When i first rang HTC they said backup and do factory reset. I asked how they said use HTC SYnc Manager. Dl'ed and connected phone. No phone coming up. The phone at the time was again crashing all the apps now inc the android core something app.
I uninstalled the recent apps i had installed. Two sound meter apps, two lightmeter apps.
And i restarted phone. Phone then restarted but has to date not gone past the HTC bootup animation screen.
I have used soft reset by using power button. Recovery mode by way of pressing volume button and power button and then selecting recovery. When i do do recovery it shows its doing something and then i get a red triangle with an exclamation mark.
Please i need help to retrieve the data contacts and mesages on the phone. Asi never had problems with the phone before i didnt get round to making a backup. Normally i used to do this but have had a lot of other things going on and have become somewhat lazy.
Many thanks

Maybe you will not be able to restore anything on your phone because of the factory reset but maybe you will have working phone. Go in bootloader and after this connect the phone to a computer you must see fastboot USB download fastboot and adb extract it to c:\fastboot open cmd and type cd\ after this cd fastboot and run the command fastboot getvar version-main and post the result here
Hi Thant,
Thanks for the help. To clarify i have not done any type of factory reset and do need the data. I have done a Recovery which showed the red triangle with exclamation mark.
If i do bootloader thing as you have specificed will it flash over the data?

You must to go in bootloader and choice fastboot after this connect the phone to computer. Then you must download fastboot files and paste in c:\fastboot. Then run cmd and navigate to this folder and run the command fastboot devices and you must to your S/N. If you didmn't see the phone install latest HTC drivers and post the result from command fastboot getvar all and delete your S/N and IMEI from the info
Thats perfect. It worked. Thank you.
I Have attached an image with the results.

For me the phone didnt matter but i needed the messages and contacts. My fault for not backing them up but they were all very important to me. If there was a glitch/hack that allowedrooting without wipe i think that would have been a way around it. Even HTC didnt want to help which i think is silly for situations where it is vitally important info and for fee as well not a freebie.
Thank you for your help anyways in getting the phone past bootloop.

Everyone has been telling me to do a factory reset, but some of my photos are not backed up anywhere and I do not want to lose them. I need help either figuring out how to get into my phone, or how to recover the pictures that are on my locked phone. I have my Google account information, but that does not seem to be any help really. Please help!
Thank you!
Do you have a custom recovery? Even if not you should be able to boot to recovery, connect to pc, and in cmd prompt where your adb is(usually platform-tools in the Android sdk) type
adb pull /sdcard
That will download your entire sdcard to your computer. Could also just do adb pull /sdcard/DCIM to only get the camera pictures, other pics are in /sdcard/Pictures

After you enter the wrong pattern enough times, does the phone give you the option to sign on via your Google login?
Be aware that the security passwords and patterns exist for a reason, and its not commonly discussed here how to circumvent them. Such knowledge can be used by criminals that steal phones.
Also, I know this doesn't solve your issue, but its far too common to see posts like this. Waiting for a disaster to happen is not the right time to realize you should have been backing up your data. With all the options (SD card, sync to PC, cloud solutions - some built in) there is really no excuse not to be doing so.

No , it does not give me that option which is frustrating as that is what many have told me to do. And yes I know, I'm kicking myself for not backing everything up. It has been a few months since I uploaded everything to my laptop. And at this point I was trying any possible option, and was given this forum to try to find help.
I am not sure to be honest... I'm not very knowledgeable about all this which is why I am having such a hard time. How do I boot to recovery? And every time I connect to my pc, it wont let me get any photos from the phone.

If the phone is stock (never rooted, bootloader unlocked, etc.); and you don't know what custom recovery is, than you don't have it.
