You are likely in trouble. ..as the files are overwritten or deleted depending on the rom change method you used. ..
Files are killed in a factory reset as well. ..g

Hi all! I am a long time infuse user who finally made the switch to the note 2 and I am loving it so far. I decided to make the jump from stock and I am currently on Jedi ROM 6.1.2. Everything has been working fantastically so far, and I have been using Perseus Kernel without any issues for about 5 days. Today I was trying to update some of my apps and I got the error message below. I tryed top fix permissions, wipe cache, reinstall the ROM and delete Marley data all to no avail. I still can't update my current apps or install new ones. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Check your internal storage space by going to settings > storage.

I have over 8 GB I already checked thanks though

Bump. I would really appreciate some help with this. I rarely addled for help with the infuse. I actually started a general support thread for answering all rom, modding, or rooting related questions. I don't know what's going on here though. I could use some tips. Thanks

For me this was due to app2sd. I removed rom toolbox and disabled app2sd nd all was good
Did you wipe system? Did not see that listed in your attempts at a remedy when reflashing. Not saying you didn't, just throwing it out as a double check on your steps. Are you using cwm or twrp?

Thanks for all the responses! I wiped system, is 8gb available, and I did have ROM toolbox, but I deleted it. How can I disable apps to sd if I deleted the toolbox?

I had an issue like this. It was due to lucky patcher. Do you have that installed?

I recall something similar from my Dell Streak and custom ROM. It's not local storage space but something to do with download cache area. There's a way to clear it - sorry for no more detail but hopefully will put you on the right track.

Hi I might have erased something on my phone. I have flashed roms before but something must have gone wrong. I flashed a cm10 rom and it messed my folders up by creating a folder on the phones memory (I forgot what it was called)I tried moving the folders out of it because my files looked ok and something happened where it erased my external 64gb and crashed my phone( it became unresponsive when trying to move the data to my pc. I flashed the stock rom using odin and it took ok I rerooted and installed twrp and tried to flash different roms but they all stay at the boot screen. Wierd thing is I can restore/backup just fine. i just can't install custom roms. I also saw something that i never noticed before in my folders on the phones internal memory I will provide a pic. Are those usb folders normal ? I can't access them though. Someone please help what can I do to be able to flash roms again? Also before anyone mentions it I tried with clockwork same issue.

Flash new ROM. Factory reset.
Yeah, I think I know what's happening, enter the sdcard folder, and if you see a folder in there called "0", all of your stuff should be there. This happened to me while using CM10.

That's what happens on cm10.1 just look in your 0 folder.

Thanks for the help guys yes i'm Puerto Rican and I already knew about the 0 folder issue and the work around (i do look at this site quite frequently but don't post much because i look before posting) but the problem happened when i tried to move the items from that folder to my pc. The fact is it just stopped transfering files completely my phone shut off it erased my external 64gb sd card and it pretty much corrupted the internal storage thank god i was able to factory reset with odin. However even after i factory reset with odin i couldnt flash roms. Thats why i posted this thread, and also to make sure that those usb folders were normal (which i found out were normal to see) Reflashed Odin factory rom 3 times in a row and that seemed to clear up the issue. Like i said thanks for all the help and sorry if it seemed like i was noobing. :good:
I just upgraded from stock to the newest build of CarbonRom and I haven't been able to access my old data at all. I tried using different file explorers. I also tried to connect it to my computer to find it but it's just not there.
Do I have to do something to get my pics, music, and video back?
You probably wiped it.

Are you talking about data on your external sdcard? If so did you format your card to FAT32. CarbonRom is ASOP and ASOP Roms don't read EXFAT cards.
When you flash 4.2+ aren't the folders linked/? Different ie 0 /1 because multiuser

I had to make a folder on my external SD card with backups in it so I could bring them over to my internal card after switching. Otherwise they're nowhere to be found, unless you switch back to a TW ROM.

These things aren't like hard drives. You should understands the differences between the two before replying like that. Where deleting from a hard drive the data can be recovered. Deleting from ssd and flash drives really does delete the files not just the directory of where those files. .....oh what am I even wasting my time for.

I do know the difference between the two. Quite well. I work in IT. So...with that out of the way.
Data is still recoverable after a factory reset. Just cause you press delete on a flash memory based device or do a factory reset doesn't mean it's gone. Go take a few pictures with your digital camera, delete them, and use some SD card recovery software. They'll be there. You can recover data from a factory wiped device. I've done it. It is still there until it's overwritten.

In theory yes but unless u know what ur doing it'll never happen, as its more than just moving files around, u need to know how to decompile and recompile because the data ur looking for can't just be moved around
