[Q] No wifi/radio aftter flashing. - HTC One X

Hi everyone,
Recently I've acquired a rooted HTC one x. It's hboot is 1.36. I wiped everything and flashed over a SlimBean RC7. installation was a success, however, wifi and radio isn't working. Initially i thought it was because i flashed the ROM wrongly. Again, i wiped and flashed another rom, IceCoolJelly and yet the radio and wifi isn't working. It can't even detect any wifi.I tried to flash the latest radios, yet to no avail.
How do i rectify my situation? is my Hboot too old as 1.39 is out? I've tried searching the forums but it's all about the hardware wifi fault. Mine is both wifi signal and radio signal not present.
Desperate to get my phone back up and running :/ do help guys.

Just checked, bluetooth isn't working too. Is my whole radio part just collapsed?

it doesn't depend when you flash boot.img but you should do fastboot flash boot boot.img and in recovery make full wipe again flash the rom and then the gapps...it SHOULD work...you need only to flash modules if you installed a custom kernel...

Try NCX Kernel and flash the modules, or make what @One-X-master say

im having this same problem as well no matter which rom i try . phone just stays stuck in airplane mode, i made sure i correctly flashed and wiped everything

Really flashed boot.img which is in Rom.zip? If not do this in fastboot, if yes but not working flash another custom kernel and flash the modules in recovery...
That are really the easiest things to do...

Got it up and running thank you! So if I'd like to put a custom kernel in, I will need to fastboot the kernel image first and then flash the modules (execute zip in CWM?)

With s-off or special bootloader hack there would be an chance for installing kernels like with nexus phones or other phones which allows that but tegra 3 is really hard to s-off

ARHD 3.0xxx Why flash boot.img and why?

Hi.. Big noob here. But after having flashed the latest ARHD, i can see that they recommend to flash boot.img.. Is this the stock bootloader? and why is it a good idea to flash it when my phone seems to work fine?
i've rooted my phone the "fastboot way" from OSX, so what would i write i the terminal to flash this boot.img?
still not able to post in the dev forum, so hope im not way of, posting it here
thanks!
it contain tweaks
The boot.IMG has nothing to do with the bootloader ,it is the kernel and the ramdidsk which developers change to add tweaks and features. This boot image would normally be flashed automatically as you install the rom in recovery but for now the recovery is incapable of flashing this image so we should do it manually

How do u flash stock boot.img when returning the handset back to.full stock ROM? Would a cwm restore fix it or would the same problem occur? If so where could the stock boot.img be found to keep as a backup for if fully stock ROM is wanted again?
Sorry for all the questions.
I'm new to the HTC way, had Samsung before and I knew what I was doing lol.

flashing the RUU will replace the boot.img
also your backup you made in clockworkmod will have the boot.img in there. it just wont be able to flash it when restoring. so just pull the boot.img from your /sdcard/cwm to your pc then you will have the stock boot.img which if you do restore can be flashed through fastboot
so your 2x options are
1. download the full RUU file for factory reset
2. copy your CWM backup to PC.
do a restore from CWM then goto fastboot and flash the backed up boot.img

Makes perfect sense. One other quick question. Like with Samsung handsets Odin can be used to flash stock Roms, is there any such software than can do the same for htc devices?
Thanks again

Download root checker from Google play and check. If u can boot into recovery, u can flash ROMs if ur unlocked via HTCdev. And remember: Always flash boot.img extracted from the .zip file of the ROM before flashing or before first boot, otherwise u will get bootloop/stuck on splashscreen.

BTW, trust me on this as i ve tried 8 roms in past 5 days. charmeleon wins over leedroid. there are more tweaks and better battery life in charmeleon by a long run. ALSO, match any rom with faux, instant 3+ hour screen through a whole day moderate usage. BE SURE TO UNDERVOLT~ happy flashing, and may the bricks stay away from you.

[Q] Correct Boot.img For HBoot 1.39?

First off, sorry for posting here, I'd like to post in the actual rom thread but I don't have 10 posts yet.
I've installed the avatar rom, its getting to the custom splash screen and then freezing.
This is normally a boot.img problem.
The thing is just I've updated my HBoot to 1.39 and I don't know what boot.img files are compatible.
I've flashed several boot.img files from various roms I've used before, but none seem to be working.
The last comment in the avatar thread is this :
If you're on the new hboot you need a special boot.img that is everywhere on the forums.

Does anybody have any idea where I can find this boot.img that is everywhere on the forums?
Because I can't find it....
You just flash the boot image from within the Rom zip file?
I do that with every other Rom I've tried. I have no idea if/why that Rom requires a special boot.img.

Because some ROMs are incompatible with newer hboots.
@OP
See attachment. I am assuming that a modded boot for CM10 does the trick since Avatar is heavily based on CyanogenMod. Let me know if it works.
You must always use the boot.img supplied in ROM.zip. If you flash ROM A and then use boot.img from ROM B, it ain't going to work.
At the moment you need a special boot.img with nearly all 4.1.x AOSP ROMs, with a new hboot version. With 4.2.x ROMs you don't need any tinkering just flash and go.
Thanks for the modded boot.
Yes dude.
It works.
You awesome genius bastard you.
My pleasure!
It might be worth noting that GPS is broken with this boot. No workaround yet, you need to flash an Android 4.2 ROM if you really need to use it.
Haha dude, spent 3 hours trying to get this ONTO my phone.
I think it'll stay for at least a day or two...
Thanks again.
I need help to recover
Hi,
I am new to rooting, I've unlocked my HTC One X, and have backed up the stock rom through the recovery nandroid, I've flashed the Renovate 1.1 ROM, then I've decided to go back to stock ROM, when I've done it I would be stuck on Airplane mode, and this happened when I first tried to flash the renovate without flashing the boot.img that comes with it...when I've flashed the boot.img the problem is solved...so now I need help getting the boot.img file for the backed up stock rom...any ideas where I can start from?

Stuck on htc quietly brilliant screen

Hi,
I'd say that for around 90% of roms that I flash I can never get past the white HTC screen (leaving each one for around 20 minutes to see if anything happens).
Using CWM I wipe the phone, flash the ROM, and flash the boot.img . But most of the time this doesn't work. The only two roms that HAVE worked for me are Android Revolution HD and Viper.
Does anyone have any idea why this is the case? Could it be to do with my HBOOT version? (1.39.0000)
Every solution that I have found on here is to flash the boot.img from the rom. But I've done that.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Tom

Yep, I've tried flashing it before and after flashing the ROM. The weird thing is that it works with two ROMS, but not with others (like Cyanogenmod or Paranoid Android)

those have a different type of installation steps...
you have to flash the boot.img through fastboot you know, because one x has no s-off. won't work if you flash boot with cwm recovery
Odp: Stuck on htc quietly brilliant screen
You should also write : fastboot erase cache, after flashing boot.img.

I've still not managed to get most roms to work Could it be something to do with them not being based on the 3.14 RUU? I've jumped up to Android 4.2.2 now and am loving it anyway
And the CM10 needs a modified boot.img file to run on JB hboots.....

usually getting stuck on the htc screen means the kernel you flashed is not compatible with the rom...
apologies if you know this already... but when you get a new rom it's stored in a zip archive, within the zip file a boot.img is usually supplied, it is usually important to flash this boot.img file to enable the rom to boot your phone.
i suspect the two roms you have managed to get to work are happy with which ever kernel version you have.
for example on hboot 1.39 you can flash renovate rom and xminster kernel and have no problems...

Stuck in Recovery & can't start any ROM

Hi!
I just HTCdev unlocked the bootloader and rooted the HTC Desire HD and everything was fine. I was in the stock ROM rooted, so I flashed the recovery and then I tried to install some ROMs and everything failed, I was stucked in the HTC loading screen...
I tried to flash several ROMs but the result was always the same: stuck in the loading screen. I did a full wipe everytime of course, but it didn´t solve anything.
At the end I tried to flash this:
[ROM][DEC 8] Official RUU_Ace_Sense30_S_HTC_WWE_3.12.405.1 STOCK ROOTED
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382235
And it worked!
But if I tried to flash another ROM like SlimBean but again, stucked...
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks!
This rom is old school. U need an old recovery..what rom are u interested in...cm.. or sense?
