2.2 Music app

i want to use root explorer to copy paste the apk to they system/app folder. i have the apk but not the odex file to go with it. so it keeps force closing. if any one has an installable apk or the apk and odex files it would be greatly appreciated if you could post them for me. thanks.
This: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861341&highlight=dk28 is a stock DK28 (2.2) ROM which is odexed. you should be able to pull both the apk and odex from /system/app in that. good luck

Wrong Section! This is a Thread for the Q&A SubForum!
But to see if you're deodexed go with rootexplorer to /system/framework and look if there are .odex files! If they are there, you are ODEXED if not you are DEODEXED!
Or better before install a ROM read the details of the ROM and you normally should know if is is deodexed or not..
if root explorer is installed then go to
system/app and
system/framework
if there are any *.odex files
then your firmware is not deodex
and if there are not odex files
then firmware is deodex.
if it helps than press thanks button

[Q] deodex samsungIME

i having some problem here.. flashed custom rom.. the samsungIME come with the rom dont have chinese input..
so i downloaded my region stock rom(ASIA)..
the question now is.. the rom im using is deodex rom.. so can i just copy the samsungIME.apk(region stock rom) and replace into the rom i current using? or i need to deodex the apk file?? please advice... if need to deodex.. and how to deodex...
please help me..thanks
The .apk in system/apps folder.
I have taken out "bloatware" in ROMs myself, just apps that i won't use. I also add apps to that folder before I install the ROM. You should be good to go to add in any .apk, but as for removal, be careful lol.
Worse comes to worse, make a nandroid and no harm no foul!

[Q]Odex files

I just deleted the system ui odex file for the 14 toggles mod, and I was wondering if anything negative will happen if I remove all of them, and what the benefits of doing so are. I realize there are deodexed roms out there, but I'm not sure of what that does.

in .odex files some apps are outsourcing libraries and other stuff.
so it seems no good idea to simply delete them

[Q] [i8160][JB]Use stock ROM apps on custom ROM?

Hi,
is it possible, to use apps from the stock ROM (telephone app, Samsung e-mail etc.) with a custom ROM like CM10.1?
I started with a deodexed stock ROM and and took some of the Samsung apps and tried to install them in CM10.1. Installation failed.
It also did not work when I copied the apk files into the system app folder.
I thought, a deodexed apk file is again complete without requirering the correct framework etc., but obviously, something is still missing/wrong.
Does anyone have an idea, why using Samsung stock ROM apps on CM10.1 fails? Can this be fixed?
I would really like to use the telephone app from Samsung instead of CM10.1 phone app. Or the FM radio app.
Is there a chance?
Thanks!
Regards
Klaerchen
stock apps arent compatible with aosp roms

Some of them will work if you deodex them first, but you can't install them as a "normal" app.
You have to copy the apk to /system/app then set the correct permissions and reboot.
If not working then it's possibly depends from the touchwiz framework and launcher.
