The KindleFireFirstAide should either have those images, or have the ability to download and install them for you. Personally, I would just search the utility for those images, or search the script and find the address to which they are stored for downloading, and install them manually. Just be sure to get the right ones.

This is for CDMA Sprint Nexus S 4G only!!!!
This will reload your NS4G back to its original state from the factory. This will take away root and erase ALL data.
This would be helpful if you phone won't boot or need to return it back to Sprint. This will take it back to stock.
Instructions:
Extract the zip file to your computer and then run setup.exe.

I am running this from Windows7. Do I need anything else? the interface keeps giving me an error when I press the download button. I have rebooted the computer and made sure no adb.exe files were running in windows. I have shut off my antivirus as well just in case.
Edit: Redid all the steps again. Shut down the Microsoft security client. and it is working fine now. I also copied the Samsung folder from Program Files X86 to Program Files X64 just in case it needed to be in both spots. I am running W7 X64. I remember the HTC drivers needed to be in both spots to operate correctly.
Edit:Edit - You will also have to reactivate the phone when the install is complete. Hope they dont charge me another activation fee.
Can be used in Odin
Also found out that you can use Odin to flash this. Inside C:\Program Files (x86)\Samsung Electronics\SWUpgrade for SPH-D720\Binary there is a tar file called SPH-D720_GRJ22_PDA.tar. You can put this into the PDA section in Odin and flash the ROM.

Here is the both of the stock update packagea extracted from the phone I didn't do a thing to it.... In order to get to the official Froyo, you must be on stock DL17... From there, you should flash the EB01, and then the EC09 packages, respectively

I believe that it gets downloaded to the /cache partition, and it is usually some random filename. I'm pretty sure if you get logcat while it's downloading, it'll tell you at least the URL it's pulling the file from, and possibly even the save location. Maybe Trailblazer will be able to provide some more detailed info though.

Ok. I assume verizon will push the update to the same phone, twice. I know it isn't an issue on GSM, but I'm not sure about CDMA, with the way it's set up. If they do, I'll revert tomorrow afternoon and see if I can find it to pull it.
Trailblazer, if you read this, before then, Something a little more comprehensive would be appreciated.

Hi,
I have some n00b questions that I would really appreciate some help on...
1. Are these files also known as the "radio" and "kernel."?
EB01 = radio?
EC09 - kernel?
2. Do I have to rename them both to "update.zip" before I place them on my sdcard?
3. When I flash them from CWM recovery, do I select "install update.zip" or "install zip from sd card"?
4. Would it be a better idea for me to use an odin package (EC09 odexed)?
5. I already flashed to a build called "EC07_clean." Do I need to go back to a stock DL17 before I flash EB01+EC09, or can I just proceed from EC07?
Thank you to anyone who takes time to help me on these. I appreciate it!

1. Not really. I'm not the person to explain that, I'm sure Tx or one of the other, more experienced regulars could explain it better. EB01 only serves to fix OTA issues and prepare the phone for EC09. As EC09 is being flashed, the radio and kernel are patched/updated from DL17.
2. No. Leave them named how they are. Just be sure you know which one is which so you can flash them in the correct order. EB01, then EC09.
3. Choose "Install zip from sd card" and then navigate to where they are. Putting them on the root of the sd card makes it easier to find them.
4. You don't have to. I honestly find CWM to be easier as no PC required. Once again, one of the other regulars may have a better answer here.
5. Going back to stock DL17 and then flashing EB01/EC09 is the only way, I think. Going from EC07 to EC09 probably won't work.
I was gonna try to use mobile odin for the first time, got the pro version. When I try to download a kernel from xda it says download unsuccessful every time. What obvious thing/setting am I missing?!?! I have allow unown sources checked, im running el29 stock rooted with el26 kernel. Please help.

Website xda
some of the file share sites won't download directly to the phone....try downloading to a PC then transfer file to phone...
Also, if you don't have it already, you should get the app 'Download All Files' for the phone. May not apply in this case but a must have app anyway.

Thanks man! exactly what I needed.
Last evening I attempted to flask Binary Bishop's JB 4.1.1. 7/30 build. Nuts! I followed the flashing instructions exactly and I am bootlooping at the CM9 screen. Are there any other steps/alternate methods to try to push this through? I'm assuming the answer is "bad download", but, I don't understand what that means exactly when I d/l'ed from the OP? Using CW non-touch recovery. 3 questions: is there any distinct advantage as far as integrity of the build by using the Goo app on the phone versus from the XDA website and then putting it on the phone, and, if I were to use the "Settings/Factory data reset" versus the one in CWM Recovery, what does it do differently? When it says at the bottom "erases all data on phone", how is that different than what factory reset in CWM does, as a practical matter? Is the TWRP recovery any more reliable for what I am trying to do? This just makes no sense that it bootloops when I am doing everything exactly as the OP says to!!!

Technically no. Are you checking the md5sum of the files you download? If the answer is no, you should be. If you use the Goo.im app it will automatically check them for you when it finishes downloading. Just because you are downloading from the recommended source does not mean that the file cant be corrupted during the download. Goo.im checks the md5sum for you when you go through the app.

Yes, thank you, I am using the GOO app on the phone to download the ROM. The MD5 is good. I am just beyond baffled as to why I cannot get thid damned thing to boot up. Would you be able to share exactly what steps you did to get yours going. All things being equal, it just makes no sense. I odin'ed back to stock, redid everything exactly as the OP says and it just will not boot, no matter what I do or wipe. PS: I'm using TWRP 2.2 recovery now. Doesn't seem to matter what I do.
Edit: Just switched back to CWM, followed the OP instructions to a "t", no go!!!
Edit: Just tried both the "Unofficial" and "Experimental" CM10 builds, still no go. WTF!!!??? Why can I get AOKP to boot alll the time? I "get" that it is JB, but the damn thing should either boot all the time or never boot, correct? (I'm sure it's not quite that simple.)

This rooting technique Finally worked you will need three files
1) SDK TOOLS from
2) recovery.img from
3)MRKREHANROOT from
you should have unlock boot loaders USB drivers installed and should be on android 4.3
copy mrkrehanrehanroot3.1.zip in sdcard
be in fastboot mode ie switch off your device and hold both volume up and down and power button together and keep your device connected to PC
Extract the sdktools and place the revovery.img in that folder
then with one finger on shift key right click in an empty space in the folder and select open command window here
then type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
it will flash recovery to your device
in recovery no need wipe anything install the zip mrkrehanroot3.1.zip
and reboot
download any app that requires root access and check for example root explorer
it should ask root acess
in this way you have rooted your device
Keep the thanks rolling and follow me on

Titanium Backup is an example of such an app. It may incorrectly detect the path to your internal storage for backups, and thus crash on backup/restore. You can fix this by going into preferences and selecting a folder under /storage/emulated/legacy as backup/restore path, not under /storage/emulated/0.
