I have 53 application installed my phone. If I make a nandroid backup of ROM will it include all of the installed applications

Yes! But you can try also Titanium to backup all your apps...

Is there an all in one backup prog I can get to do a backup of my apps contacts and messages before I flash a rom so I can just reinstall the backup with the new rom.

Yes, although most roms will ask you to wipe data before flashing them) so create a titanium backup of all apps (user apps not system!) And a nandroid backup just in case

I'm about to flash a new ROM and I already have an adequate backup for the one I'm on so I don't wanna lose space by making a new backup, is there anyway I could just backup the data and then restore that after restoring the ROM? Or should I just make an new backup and delete the old one?
