Read cwm.img - Ouya Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all!
I just got my self an ouya and have installed cwm on it. The only downside is that you need to have a keyboard plugged in in order to choose the options.
What I'm trying to do is to turn on the Bluetooth while in recovery, so that I can use my ouya controller to select the options.
Now here is the first problem lol. So simple hahaha
How can I read cwm.img contents?
I downloaded it here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2295645
I tried unyaffs but I get `Broken image`
Any help?
Thanks

Hi
This CWM is also compatible with lg e610 and E612?
greetings!

Boot Loop stuck in Animation help.

Hey everyone. I know there are already a few threads with boot loop animations, and am having difficulties finding the same situation as what I'm going through. Here is what the phone used to have before it randomly started looping:
Rooted - with Stock rom, using ClockwordMod Recovery 5.5.0.2
Used Go Launcher Theme ( if that even matters )
No additional roms installed or anything, the phone is 3 months old.
Ok here is where I'm stuck. I understand I should reflash somethings like recovery image or something, but I'm stuck with one big problem. My computer and phone don't recognize using the USB mount.
The message I get is called "Unable to open lunfile ( no such file or directory)
Here's what screens I can get to:
1. Hold vol up/down while holding power ( the little android with its belly open, and the options Start - Restart Bootloader - Recovery mode - Power Off )
2. Hold vol down - ODIN mode, with the START option only
I can access WMD recovery and factory reset, Try to install my old backup, nothing works at all in that area, no matter what I do.
Can someone advise me a step by step way of getting my computer to recognize my phone, so that I am able to do fastboot, or reflash, or anything to get my phone working again. I can't access my internal memory at all.
It's even possible that I've read too much, and my frustration is getting in the way, if so I apologize! Some guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance of course! I need my phone for business!
Cheers,
Install the drivers on a computer then use fastboot oem unlock. Or just factory reset it from within recovery.

Try my siggy.
I'm not sure about the exact error:
But the link there will get you the correct drivers.
Also, as stated...try to factory reset.
You'll lose your apps/data that way though =/
Hopefully you can get the driver installed and get your computer to recognize.
If so, follow this to back up your apps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420351
Have exactly the same setup as you (rooted/stock/CWM) and had the animation bootloop - animation would just loop until a battery pull.
Only thing that solved it was a factory reset from recovery. Been working fine for the 4 weeks since. No need for any reflashing etc. Titanium recoveries have all worked fine as well. Didn't try my Nandroid backup as I thought that may still have the 'fault' built in.
I had a boot loop for every from I tried to flash...wat fixed it was before flashing u need to wipe system data and wipe the cache in the recovery...ie a clean install...then every rom I tried worked...so I think ur missing that crucial step coz it worked for me

Hey guys, as stated above I've done numerous factory resets, it still seems to boot. I will for sure try to get the drivers installed so my phone is recongised by the computer, but would need step-by-step assistance when doing fastboot, or whatever the next step is.
Looking for more help though! Keep em coming!
?
Any other ideas?
Thanks!
Ok guys, so here's where I'm at now. I've used Jubakuba's sticky link, located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529058
Everything is able to be recognized up to the point where it says "Put the su.zip on your phone."
Since I cannot access my phone contents, since I keep getting this "Unable to open lunfile ( no such file or directory), it does not allow me to add anything to my phone.
I re-installed CWD as stated in the list of things to do, and all that went well. But I have the same issue, I tried factory resetting all that. erase cache, and still stuck with the same issue.
What's my next step now peeps? Looking for a quick answer as I have time to do it tonight!
Edit***
Just tried this trick: but it says it does not recognize the device?? what is going on! Please help someone! Thanks!

Q: My phone won't boot!
A: The easiest option is to get into recovery and restore a nandroid using the above guide (pull battery to put phone in an off-state if needed).
However, more advanced options are available if you don't have a nandroid available (You're naughty).
Do you have another rom .zip available on your SD card? If so, simply use the above guide for installing a rom to get you booting again.
If not, you can download one on your PC. Boot into fastboot (the green Android with open chest menu).
Move the .zip to the C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools folder.
Open ADB.
Change the NAMEOFZIP.zip below to the correct file name...and perform the action.
Surely your computer recognizes your phone. Otherwise how were you able to unlock the bootloader and flash the recovery?
And I've never seen that error message before. It doesn't even make any sense to me. Where are you seeing it? On your phone or on your computer? And in what context? What are you trying to do when it shows up?
If your phone isn't booting I'm not sure that you can copy any files to it yet. (Maybe you can use adb in clockworkmod? I'm not sure) What I do know you can do is flash the stock ROM and start over.
Download the image from Google here:
http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html
Here's a instructions for the GSM version:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366806
For the Verizon version, I can't find the thread at the moment but you just replace the filenames and also there's 2 radios to flash so:
fastboot flash radio *filename*
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio-cmda *filename*
"Unable to open lunfile ( no such file or directory) appears on the phone, in CWD mode, when trying to attempt "mount Usb" to be able to access my internal storage .
I am attempting your thoughts right now.
I will post with results
Ok I tried to do this step. This is the outcome I received on the computer after even typing the first step:
'fastboot-windows' is not recognized as aninternal or external command, operable program or batch file.
A thing to stress, I'm not sure how to do step 1: 1) Take a Nandroid Backup if you have CWM installed.
EDIT***
GREAT NEWS!
used this setup!
http://android.modaco.com/topic/348161-01-feb-r4-superboot-rooting-the-gsm-lte-galaxy-nexus/
and it worked!
Thank you everyone! Going to play with my phone and make sure it all works!

[Q] Made a mistake, stuck in TWRP

Whats good XDA community?
I dont know exactly what happened (I bugged this little dude out awhile ago I've just been too lazy to fix it) but now that I want to flash my kindle fire back to the original... I cant seem to. It seems I've wiped the ICS rom I had running on it and now when I hit the power button(and dont boot into TWRP 2.0) it just loads a blank black screen. Also, I cant seem to mount my kindle via the TWRP mount option, do I need the android debug bridge for this? I changed computers recently so I dont have any of the tools that I had when flashing this the first go around(for the record I'm on a mac).
Thanks for your help, my first post so please be kind

I guess you didn't make a nandroid backup? You don't need adb to mount the SD partition though, If you can i would try a different computer because when you mount SD through TWRP you should have no problem accessing the SD on your computer and dropping a ROM or in this case the update.zip from here
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200790620
since you are already wiped, all you will need to do is rename this .bin file to update.zip and install like a normal ROM. you will then be left with an unrooted, stock version of the kindle fire (without TWRP or FFF also)

[Q] Stuck in recovery

Hi guys, I know this is the worst question and nobody likes it when a noob is struggling... I have a gnex and for some stupid reason I booted into recovery (clockworkmod 6) and formatted everything, I can plug in the phone to PC but it does not allow me to browse the device and copy files to it so that I can flash another ROM. I have installed Gnex toolkit and tried pushing files that way, and it says that it works, but if I select "choose file from SD card" to flash then it just says no files were found. I am stuck now, no idea what to do. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!?
Obviously the phone does not have a SD Card so all the solutions I could find on Google is useless for me...
do not use toolkit!
you have 3 options by order:
1- push custom rom manually (see my sig. gnex tips) be sure that you have cwm 6.0.2.3 or 6.0.3.1 :good:
2- flash stock images via fastboot (see efrant sticky thread) :good:
3- flash stock images via odin (see my sig.)
P.S. next time use search button. there are plenty of threads with the same request
sounds like you didn't install the correct drivers, reinstall the correct drivers and your device should be recongnized when you plug it into the computer and try to transfer over files, just use google to find what you need the info is all out there and you should be able to find it very quickly instead of posting questions and waiting for answers

[Q] KF issues and what I have tried so far...

Hello.
I have a KF 1st generation. I had rooted it some time back and then un-rooted it (thought I did?) and haven't had an issue. This week it started loading up and freezing on the Kindle Fire orange and white logo. I am able to boot it to Recovery which gives me Cannibal Open Touch screen and options. I did try a few of the options but still the same end result. After coming here and reading around I found a thread and I followed the directions since the original poster and I seemed to have the same issue. There are the steps I followed:
Step 1) Download MoDaCo Rom/Any other ROM BUT NOT ANY KITKAT ROM(COTR can NOT flash KitKat)
Step 2) Transfer your ROM while in recovery
Step 3) Do a preflash wipe
Step 4) Do a factory reset
Step 5) Go to 'Install -> Install from SD Card -> Folder where you put your ROM
Step 6) Click Install without Backup
Step 7) Boot Android
I downloaded [ROM] 14 Jun Gr9 (6.3.1) - MoDaCo Custom ROM for the Kindle Fire and made it to Step 5 using the 'Zip Flashing' option but I can't seem to flash or sideload or any of those options. While the Kindle is plugged into the computer I hear the noise and when I find my Kindle it has a Yellow Triangle with a !. I looked at the Kindle and it tells me I have no drivers and I am not able to drag and drop any files. Also, not sure if it matters but I am no longer using the computer used to root the Kindle.
the rebooting is the new 6.3.3 update trying to install, but because you have custom bootloader/recovery install fails.
may need to install twrp recovery. but my prerooted 6.3.3 zip sbould install fine.

@sd_shadow I appreciate the reply and the twrp file but can you lead me to the direction to getting them to the KF? I can plug the KF into the computer and it no longer gives me the triangle ! sign. I am unsure of the next step and don't wanna mess anything up with unnecessary stuff. Thank You again :good:

I have been trying to figure this out and searching but I can't seem to figure this out. I am uploading the screen I have on my KF and I don't know how to mount the file. I can't find a thread that will kind of walk me though it so if you know where I should go that would be great. I am uselessly pretty good with figuring things out so maybe I'm making this harder than it looks?

Can't remember if Cannibal Open Touch has mount options
may need to
Download a twrp.img from http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/blaze,

When you see Press Power for Boot Options select recovery
In TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) select Mount check sd card and tap mount USB Storage
On Pc open sd card folder and copy update-kindle-prerooted.6.3.3.v1.zip downloaded from post 1
once copy is complete, close folder, unmount sd card
in TWRP select Install select update-kindle-prerooted.6.3.3.v1.zip
Swipe to Confirm Flash
after flash is complete, wipe cache, select Back, select Reboot
May take a few minutes to boot first time
Victory!
First off TY for the time you took to get me to the finish line. :victory:
I will admit trying to mount was a nightmare. I couldn't figure out how to do it so after hours of playing around and trying to find anything to try I finally succeed by installing the Kindle Fire Unbrick Utility (again) and running KindleUnbrick.bat file and installing the TWRP that way. Once that worked (and believe me I didn't think it would work since I tried this a few times) and I yelled WOOT, I followed the rest of your directions from "In TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) select Mount check sd card and tap mount USB Storage" and installed your prerooted 6.3.3 zip and finished off your directions and have myself my dear reading buddy back. I APPRECIATE deeply the time you took to get me back. :highfive:
I want to add for anyone who is looking though threads looking for help with the same issue. If you are trying to get the TWRP file on your Kindle download the Kindle Fire Unbrick Utility and then running the RUN file and follow the directions.
great, Glad I could help.
I have tried to use the Kindle Fire Unbrick Utility a few times, with little success.
I would only suggest it, if nothing else is working, but does work in some situations.

G3 Stuck in Developer mode

Ok... I'm desperate. I don't care if I won't recover any data, I just want it back working.
My d850 G3 was rooted and TWRP was installed but while trying to open the TWRP interface to copy the latest CyanogenMod, when I rebooted the phone with QuickBoot, it got stuck in developer mode. Now nothing else works besides rebooting and the only way my laptop recognizes the phone is when I select "Apply Update from ADB" but it goes into sideload mode and I cannot sideload anything with MinimalADB & Fastboot or with the SDK Platform Tools.
I tried adb push & adb sideload -> LG_G3_Flash2FixStuckRecovery (the zip from the other thread) , from the sdcard & laptop, it doesn't work.
-> last CMmod, cm-12.1-20151209-NIGHTLY-d850 ... doesn't work...
Any ideas on how to save my phone? I don't care what ROM, even if I can get the custom ROM back, it's still helpful.
Forgot to say I was using Android Kitkat... and here's an image with the screen:

I hate to tell you budy, But that isnt TWRP or developer mode, what you have here is, default Stock android Recovery that comes with the phone.. So whoever told you that you have TWRP or whatever you
think was TWRP isnt twrp.. so best bet, Flash KDZ.. go into download mode if you can... One more thing.. Read up on this stuff cause you really dont know what your doing........
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2772199 you will need to download the kdz for your variant. So omit the file from the post and use the one for for the d850. Follow the instructions.
After more research (about 20 tabs opened in chrome with other forum links and tutorials) I found what I was looking for and fixed my phone. I cannot thank you enough guys I didn't know where to search, for what exactly.
I'm still considering installing a custom ROM, though... any complete tutorial (for newbies) for CMmod or something better?
Best of luck! Cheers
You need to make sure you are rooted and have twrp. The recovery you show in that photo stock. And make sure its bumped.
