I recently flashed cm7, works great. The only thing I'm having trouble is with the apps. I can't download the apps I had previously from the market because It says I have them installed already.
So how do I fix this/restore my apps?
thanks
Try and clear data for the market app and see if that works for you.
Erm, how exactly?
If you go into settings and then applications. Find market under all and click clear data.
Part of my problem is that I don't have the market app installed
Did you flash a Gapps package when you flashed your ROM? That will give you Market and other basic Google apps. I believe CM is packaged without an integrated Gapps loadout for legal reasons.

No I didn't flash Gapps, I just installed market via apk, cleared the data but I can't use the market cause I cannot set up a profile that its asking for.
How would I go about this Gapps package?
There was no data to clear anyways.
About to try this
wipe data+cache
flash cm7
wipe data+cache
flash gapps
If you wiped system, cache, and dalvik cache before you installed CM7, you shouldn't even need to wipe. You'll just reboot into recovery and flash the Gapps .zip just like you flashed your ROM.
As far as finding it, I'd just Google "cm7 Google apps" or "cm7 gapps", you'll find a download link for the .zip. Keep in mind that, unlike the ROM itself, the Gapps package isn't specific to one model phone.

Which cm7 version are you using?
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda premium
In that case you might want to start from scratch:
Boot into recovery -- nandroid backup -- factory reset -- wipe dalvik cache -- install cm7 -- flash gapps.
And yeah, check to make sure you're using a current stable cm7 build.

What version of CM7 did you flash?
depending on the version of cm7, i would flash one of aero's kernals
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/7717-kernel-aeroevan-vivow-kernels-for-aosp/
v8 needs to be for 7.2 otherwise, flash .7 version.
7.2 + Aero kernel .8 is an amazing combination. Do that!

There it's a work around in the ROM thread.

In the interests of helping track down the problem... I have been a user of this rom since it was first out and only one thing wasn't working for me (and an issue we saw in ICS for a while as well) - after sleeping for a while, it wouldn't reconnect to my wifi automatically, I had to turn the wireless off and back on. So I was wondering why people were having issues with Chrome or other apps.
Yesterday, with the official release of 1.7.1 (not the one earlier), I wiped my kindle clear - wiped everything but the SD card - factory, both caches, system, you name it. Installed 1.7.1 from TWRP, GAPS (0726), cleared both caches again, and rebooted. Chrome would not work for me. This was the first time in AGES that I had cleared system/factory reset, until then I had always just done a dirty install, cleared caches and things just worked - all the way back to the ICS days.
Today, I cleared everything again, system, factory reset, both caches. Installed jb-kfire-hashcode-07-13 and gaps, cleared caches, and rebooted. Went through the whole initial install stuff in this rom, downloaded chrome from the play and checked that it was working - it was. Then dirty-flashed 1.7.1 (I don't think I even did gaps now that I think of it), cleared caches and rebooted. Chrome is still working.
So... either dirty flashing isn't getting me the new rom (though I have quicknav tablet statusbar v2 working) or something different happens in the hashcode install than happens in the 1.7.1 bare install. Something worth looking into.
In any case, I'm up and running again, just have to re-install all my apps. Until told otherwise or I run into a problem, it's dirty-flashing only in my future.
Keep up the great work! Love this ROM!

You can also try this:
1) Uninstall Chrome
2) Find a older release of jandycane, such as 1.6.0 from goo.I'm and download it.
3) Clear cache and dalvik cache and flash.
4) Reboot into system.. you should bbe running 1.6.0 or another older version that you picked..
5) Go to the market and reinstall Chrome
6) Once Chrome is installed, set it up (enter your Google info)
7) Exit and return to goo.I'm and flash the latest version of jandycane
8) Once you are back in the lastest version, Chrome should work.
WARNING: Uninstalling Chrome will result in you having to do this again, but hey, your choice.

Jandycane Chrome
Any chance with Jandy 1.7.2 the Chrome issue is resolved? Many older versions of Jandycane are no longer hosted (including the quoted 1.6).

Nope.
Anyone got a hosted copy of previous versions, since the OP at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766829 is showing them all down?
I have 1.6.0 on my computer in the Downloads folder, I can upload it if you like.

Chrome M18.1 Not Working
Last week I received a new version of Chrome M18.1 and now when I try to launch using Jandycane 1.7.2 it disappears, but is still running. I have tried uninstalling/re-installing with the same results. I tried flashing the ROM again, nothing.
Am I the only one having this issue?
Cheers!

I fixed my original post, I'm running Jandycane 1.72, NOT 1.71.
Location Service
Might the issue be with the Location Service?
I noticed other apps that try to use it can't detect it and that was one of chromes feature updates.

Hello .. i have a problem with my galaxy s i 9000. I followed all the steps to instal cyanogenmod 10.1, everything went good , the phone after reboot was working, i could acces the menu but after i installed the zip Gapps when i open the phone it gives errors and i can't acces any aplication from google. It appears on the display "unfortunately google search has stopped" or "setup wizard has stopped". The gapps are the right one for this type of cyano, i've cheched it on the site. Can you help me with a solution? Thank you
Try wiping everything in recovery then flash your Rom then right after that flash your gapps then reboot.

Wiping should definitely work, but you'll have to restore files and settings somehow.
If you're an Android developer, but may want to check the logcat output and see why the apps crash. Maybe it's just a permissions problem (could be solved by CWM) or so.
Also try the gapps package from goo.in with the correct exact version of u r rom......

Amazon was just too slow for me. When i had Amazon's Kindle os, it ran extremely slow, was very buggy, and the style was just plain weird. So, i decided to flash my rom, and have a fully fledged android. Using TWRP and Cyanogenmod, and with this helpful tutorial, I managed to do so, with minimal difficulty. My kindle ran much better, and much faster thereafter. But alas, with me always liking to mess with things until they break, giving me the ability to break whatever i use without having to do anything to it, my kindle started to have errors. First, the booting time got longer with each boot. Now, it is at a point where it takes a full night to boot. I tried to reboot, but it ran into the same error, spinning endlessly on Cyanogenmod round screen. Reboot after reboot, waiting five to ten minutes in between, i decided to just leave it like that throughout the whole night. Went to bed, and woke up. To my surprise, it had actually booted at one point in the night! This hasn't been the first time it has happened, either. It happened about two weeks before this error. It ran fine, then boot time extended, then it got stuck on the endless rotating cyanogenmod screen. I did a factory reset, which solved the problem, for that time being. Having to restore all my apps was just plain boring. It ran fine for a few weeks again, and after two and a half weeks, it has happened again, and i don't want to have to factory reset for the rest of my kindle's life. What is the problem? How do i fix? Do you guys need any more information?

Try wiping cache and dalvik cache from twrp, if that doesn't do it I would also wipe system and reflash the ROM.

How do you wipe the cache? I never figured that out. I booted into it with the volume button during boot, but i don't find a clear cache option.
K, did it, appears to work now... Thankies!!
OK, as I thought, it didn't entirely work. Every time I reboot, I have to clear cache, or otherwise it won't boot. Any solution, or should I just reinstall android is on it?
I'd reinstall android, just wipe system and the caches and reflash. If that doesn't work, back up yours apps and their data and do a factory reset and reflash again.

K, so jus at back up important data, then wipe everything, download another copy of android, test it with I can't remember its name program but will find out, upload to twrp, flash ROM, restore data, viola?
That sounds about right, I'm guessing the other thing you were thinking of was md5sum checking program.

Yup. I'll do that this weekend then! I hope that will solve the issue... Would it be possible to put Ubuntu os (Mobile edition) on a kindle?
Eh an old version yes, but hashcode hasn't released an update so the newer one can boot. And its not very good yet, its really buggy and not worth using as a primary os.
