I think it means low signal, I get it on cm as well. Not ROM related.

Out of curiosity, when it says that, go to Settings->About phone->Status and see what it says under Mobile network type.

I'm not ALWAYS a sarcastic, unbearable jackass.

It stands for DC-HSDPA (Dual Carrier or Dual Cell High-Speed Downlink Packet Access), which is essentially 42Mbit/s 4G.

Lol, it doesn't happen very frequently but I'll report when it does.
I've searched it previously with Google and all I get is dropped call results that as far as I can tell are completely unrelated to this.
Bout to ask one of the cm guys.

Yea Steve said it stands for dual channel h+ and Tmo s faux g .
Edit: here's a good article that breaks it down http://www.economist.com/blogs/babbage/2012/03/mobile-broadband

GB radio?

Are there any Gingerbread radios for the Dinc? I downloaded one that was supposed to go with the leaked gb build for the original dinc that was released a while back. I want to try it, but I would rather not brick my phone
I get the radios from Doug Piston's site.
There is a 05.06 radio that isn't listed on his site, and I think it's in the development forums somewhere. I use the 11.19 radio, and use NilsP's Business GingerSense 2.2 ROM. Works great!

I was using the 05.06 radio, a warning this caused my GPS to be off by quite a bit. I reverted to 7.28 all is good now!

I've heard things about that radio that make me stick with 11.19. I also used the 04.08 too, but found that in the areas I work/live the 11.19 gives me the best 3g speeds overall.
Currently testing 05.02 and its allowed cell standby time to go from 9% on 07.28 to 4%. 05.06 is not good in my area of long island.

Galaxy Nexus is Awesome!

Hi
I just felt that with all the negative posts, i would add a positive one
I got mine today from Clove, all i can say is this phone is awesome.
Well done Google. ICS is a wonderful rebuild, not an update, a rebuild. I think people are forgetting this.
So everybody. What do you like about ICS?
I got a unknown phone call today and what made me smile was that ICS told me what location the area code was from automatically
What has put a smile on your face with ICS?

Woah!!! It did that in the UK?
Sweet, Friday is gonna be great!!! Can't wait.
Yeah in the UK, I just tested it by deleting my home number form the phone, and then calling. It got it bang on. Very cool!
That's pretty cool, I hope the Verizon version does that (show the location of call). That's a welcome addition if it does.
This is new to me.
Are you sure you are not installing special app?
no additional app
it must look up the area code from google so i guess u will need a data connection

It does the same on an AOSP build on the Nexus S - I received several calls for work today from unknown numbers and the Caller ID now shows the state the call is originating from (US).
That's a really good find! For those who haven't tried it I've knocked up a short video showing the feature. Me like.

Said the number which wasn't in my contacts and it said Tyneside under it.
Turns out it was Samsung calling me back
Wondering if this is UK specific only.

It comes on the device already

Just got a One X in the States. Impressions/hands-on

I just got the One X, thanks for the help on the language!
Anyway. A video will come shortly but here are my initial impressions:
This thing is LIGHT. I'm coming from a Galaxy Nexus and then iPhone 4S. The HTC One X is lighter than both of those.
The build quality is much better than the Nexus. It's solid. There's no creaking or blemishes anywhere on the device.
Sense 4 is much more lightweight than previous versions. Either that, or the quad-core really speeds everything up.
I did not adjust any data settings on the phone and it connected to the AT&T network, though speedtest was unable to run I did download an item and loaded a webpage.
I really like the lockscreen.
You cannot uninstall 7Digital, SoundHound, Tune-In, etc. You can only disable them. A bit disappointed in that because Soundhound and TuneIn are apps I have the premium versions of.
All in all, a great first few hours getting everything setup. I'm as excited for this phone as I've been for any android phone since the EVO.
UPDATE: Here's the link to the video look: http://youtu.be/bVLUhiQGJEE
Sounds like a life changing decision lol
Just choose English UK, it's probably the closest option.

Nice video, Derek!
just got my one x in the states as well. So far very nice. I was having a bit of trouble getting a constant ATT data connection. It kept flipping between 3g and H and couldn't pull any data. It seems to have started working. I just popped my iPhone microsim into the phone. It seems to be working now, but I wander if I need to call ATT and change phone plans. Anyone know?

Branded 3 UK update available

Couldn't see another post - sorry if there is another regarding this, but just updated on branded 3 UK phone to 1.28.771.9
I got it through yesterday, signal seems to be the only improvement and now my data connection remains active rather than constantly resetting.
I'm behind then lol
My signal seems a bit better too, haven't noticed much on the data front, as I'm mostly on my wi-fi, it seemed ok before though!

Who's Thinking Of Getting This Phone?

Hiya folks. I've had Xperia phones since 2010 and I'm thinking of replacing my broken Z3c with an XA1. However I really don't want to be tied into a 2 year contract for a handset that's unsupported.
So I was just wondering..I know it's early days..but is anybody else thinking of getting one of these?
If you're browsing this forum and considering a purchase, reply and let me know! :good:

I'm really curious with this phone. Instead of mediatek processor, do you ever experience any lag/error during multitasking? And I wonder how long this 2.300 ma power battery can stand for a day. Maybe you can share your screen on time with list of applications installed.

Hello, could you confirm one exciting feature of android 7 (atleast for me) that it works on this phone software.
As of Android 7.0 phone can read 2G/3G/LTE frequency without ROOT. Easiest way is to install app Cellmapper(mapping cell towers to map) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cellmapper.net.cellmapper
Could anyone run this app(enable "Use new Android 4.2 Cell ID API" in settings) and post screenshot while connected to LTE only or 3G when 4G not available(no wifi)? Also, maybe send debug report from settings menu to developer([email protected]) with screenshot.
Thank you

Well, I've got this phone now. Got it this afternoon. Initial impressions are good. Yes it's not a powerhouse but, for a mid range device, it's really not bad.
Hopefully I can get it rooted soon then I can mod the hell out of it.

I've had it less than a day so I can't really comment. But I haven't noticed any significant battery issues so far. I've come from the Z3 Compact and this seems to do everything I need it to do at the moment. The sound is good, picture quality is decent (yes, it's not full HD or whatever but it's a phone..if I really need amazing picture quality on my videos I'll use my TV) and the battery seems okay.
Like everything, it depends what you're using it for. If you spend your whole day playing Pokémon Go at full brightness while listening to music, your battery is going to be annihilated..
