Hey guys,
as you may know, there is no Video Player in the Ultimate ROM (Samsungs stock one). I tried copying the VideoPlayer.apk to system/app, it opens but then FC's when i try to play anything. Does it depend on other apks? Cause i'm stuck here
Would be great if someone could point me in the right direction, or if you have flashable zip of it would be better for everyone Cheers.
I think the Videoplayer is based of the Rock Player app in the market maybe give it a try and see if its the same?
I am looking for this too! Or at least a nice video player with the option to stretch the picture to fullscreen or keep the original aspect ratio.

Hi, maybe you can try "Soul Movie" (if you don't know this soft already), it's a really good video player and it's free.

Did you try to install VideoPlayer.apk with "App Installer" ? (search on the market, it's free)

neither vplayer nor soul movie play back h264 mkv's very good. nor do most of the other so called "best" media players on the market. the samsung one is still the best one i've found. unfortunately i use a miui rom so i cant use the sammy one.
but i found 2 players that are quite good and can playback the files i want them to.
diceplayer (around 4 bucks)
and bsplayer (free but adsupported)
Try moboplayer.
i had no issuse with rock player, it playd any video format i tried with...i recomand it
Hi, i got some DVD's and i would like to view them on my Arc, how do i copy them over? and can i still use subtitles?
I would like to have them in the best quality possible.
If someone would mention a program, i would do a tutorial here for everyone else
x2 tried copying an AVI but would not play
1) Xperia Arc will not support DVD containers, you must decode them first with a suitable program on a computer-machine at your desk/home.
2) The built in video player dosen't play AVI files, so it is better to get Rock Player Lite from Market (free, but with little ads at the file browser).

1. A camera for my Xperia S, that is able to take still pictures while taking a video.
2. I got a new car which connects to my phone with bluetooth and am looking for a music app that will allow me to change songs on my phone, with the button on my steering wheel, Apollo and Folder Player do not work.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

For the camera, i think u already have the stock camera.. If u are on .96 fw, i think u can get the best out of the camera..
For Music, didn't u try Walkman itself? If it hasn't worked, there are plenty of music players like PowerAmp, etc in the Play Store..

and the X4 video player[many knows this player...] but if u dont know what it is...this is a video player by SONY which can play 4 video at a time and can take snap while u watching single video [u can focus single video at anytime]

I'm a happy owner of the new Z5 premium, but stupidly lost the preloaded photos & videos. Could anyone send them in a archive file or so?
I played a little with the phone, saw quickly the beautiful preloaded photos, but then, before to start the serious things and transfer data from my previous & brave xperia z, did a factory reset.
I was a little sad that the images and videos (not mine, the samples from Sony) disappeared too with this operation.
So, this is not a real problem, but I'd be glad to check again the beauty of the (presumably 4K) photos along with the quality of the screen.

For your information, no specific settings are needed, neither plug-in, login or so.
Just had a warning with Safari on Mac, but with Chrome, everything was OK.

Just looked at one of the videos the scenery one, how come its only at 1920x1080 ? When I look at details of the file that's the resolution.
Only wanted to look on my 4k tv to see how they looked for when I get my phone, but that can't be right.

That's a joke from Sony bundled with Z5 Premium. Another joke is that playingback 4K 60FPS is very laggy.

Try Vlc player.
It's kinda stupid how they only have a 1080p preview video on a 4k screen. You see every reviewer on YouTube who will probably think it's a 4k preview...
Maybe it's to show off their upscale tricks though..
