Looking to flash my first ROM on my N2, now that Hulu removed their rooted device block I have nothing holding me back from rooting and flashing.
Looking for something that has all the S-goodies but none of the t-mo BS bloat. Mainly wanting to keep all S-pen functions and stuff like s-voice ETC.
Looking pretty hard as JediROMS right now, but even that is hard to decide.
Thanks
Monkey
No offense but we really don't need another which ROM thread. The last one is only three posts down

As of right now you cant. But you can root your device and go over to the dev section and flash a sweet rom then go to the themes section and flash yourself a very nice ICS theme. It should hold you over til we get the real deal. And dont forget to hit the thanks button for the dev and themer!
How do I like lol im such a noob

Just got my phone back and running. Starting to get annoyed by the amount of ram that can't be freed. But I don't want to lose any good functions(bluetooth etc.) From what I've read, it's almost as if it's only beta. Any reviews or revirws of other rom performance on this phone? I was considering cm10 but I heard you only get 60% of the cpu ppwer?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
Read ROM threads... thats where the reviews are usually found

It basically comes down to whether you want touchwiz or aosp.

touchwiz is an interface Samsung puts over stock Android
There are extra features, but bloatware as well
Some features are also crippled
Aosp is pure Android operating system

I have tried AOKP, CM10 and numerous TouchWIZ Roms with a combination of kernals. So far the fastest and smoothest of them all have been Wicked TW ROM with Ktoonz's kernal. It feels the smoothest and benches higher then CM10 oddly enough. It does have some bloat I dont care for in it, but most of its removed. I am getting awesome battery life with the combo using the smartassv2 governor.

Is there any way to just add on the Multi Window functionality of the Galaxy Note to the 3 on any rom?
Synergy ROM in the development section has it.

I don't know, I tried that using the rom mentioned above but it's buggy. Multi Window is nothing but hype. You're probably thinking any app can be used, you're wrong.

I've tried the synergy rom and I have to agree that once the newnest of the multi Window is gone the rom overall is laggy and you'll probably end up switching back to whatever you was using before it

No it will not get its own sub forum. It will be like the T999V where there's really not a lot to worry about as long as you stay away from the rest of the firmware.
Roms, recoveries, and kernels only!
Things will get simpler as time passes. And we will see some roms based off the T999L, but I wouldn't expect many.

Correct. I call roms, roms. And Firmware can be any combo that includes other partitions to be flashed.
Wicked should be fine. I am assuming that an ICS rom will eork, but don't know for sure. Nandroid your current to be safe. You will also need to flash an ICS kernel. Pretty sure any of the ones I've got listed in the other thead won't work.
I am interested in how this goes so please report back. And ill answer aby questions I can about it as well.

Well the v10 is actually a jb 4.1.1 build not ics... but its aroma installer so your forced to pick stock or deviant kernel during the install which may cause to fail not giving me option to flash your uvuamb7 kernel after the install if it fails during the aroma install... see this is what confuses me, I'm no noob but I also don't wanna Brick or Bork this new phone. ...
Should I avoid aroma installed roms?
And how do I know if I Should flash the uvuamb7 or uvdmd5 kernel after a rom flash which goes for which??

Lol! Oops! Been a bit since I've thought about 4.1.1. Sorry bout that.
Pick whichever kernel you prefer from aroma. As I said in the other thread if the rom includes a kernel, you don't need to worry about it.
In the event you do flash one without, you can use either of the kernels. They both work.
Was something not clear in my thread? Was pretty sure I had that covered.
And lets have further questions there if you don't mind. Best to keep the info together.

I'm still on 4.2 and totally happy with it. Using Wicked v8. Of course I'd like to have a change of scenery but I'm not sure if I should.
What are the issues with either version (not specific to a ROM, just that version). What doesn't work or is there anything special that needs to be done to bypass the issues? I'm sure a lot of this can be researched and I usually would but some of it is buried on page 30 of a random thread.

Not necessarily... I mean, the last few pages would be the ones pertaining to the more recent builds of whatever ROM you're looking into. Take Wicked; I doubt there's much on page 2 (V1) that would be relevant bug-wise to V8 or even V9. Same goes for the other ROMs out there.
Just go for it. You are going to have to update sometime. Just don't install the 4.3 bootloader and you've got nothing to worry about.
I'm on 4.4.2, but if I wanted to I could Odin the stock image and be back on 4.2.
