I have had multiple issues with my phone in the past. Even sent it back to LG twice. Although I found a way to install the rooted 4.0.4 rom onto my phone, I still cannot install a custom recovery onto my phone any longer. I've tried using Rom manager to do so and all I get is

You need to start from the beginning, play with the unbricking process again.
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk 2
Start the unbricking process:
1-successfully install the original stock Korean rom listed in the guide.
2-successfully root that using the tools provided in the guide.
3-after your positive you have root, install rom manager from the market and use it to install cwm recovery.
4-after that try to boot into recovery using rom manager, if it's successful, flash desired rom from there....if not, post back the results

Essentially, you already are stuck without a recovery and security errors. There are very, very few reasons you should need to send the phone to LG because they essentially do the same thing the unbricking guide does, I believe....

Have you tried downloading a recovery and flashing it in Fastboot mode with this command?

Are you saying I'm in fastboot mode then? Will ADB work so I can run that command?
I am trying this too- having the same problems getting out of the ICS leak (the unbrick process is crapping out on me saying "fatal error")
I am trying the recovery image via fastboot flash - i am using the recovery.img from the Nitro Easy Unbrick instructions...
Just stuck on "waiting for device" in adb...
Any ideas?

Simply use fastboot http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=602988&d=1305975649
and type "fastboot erase recovery"
That should get things back to normal then you can use ROM MANAGER from playstore to get CWM recovey

LG's ICS has a locked bootloader, the only way CWM can be installed is to replace the locked bootloader with an unlocked one. I have discovered a way to do it without using the unbricking guide with a simple batch file. Are you interested?

Hello everyone!
I rooted my phone a few months ago and attempted to install a recovery manager (TWRP) through goo manager. I gave up at the time because it wasn't working, and it wasn't that important to me at the time.
I return today to try to fix the problem. I launched goo manager again and installed TWRP through it, and it said it did so successfully. However, when I click reboot into recovery, it says hidden menu has stopped working, and then it shuts off. When it starts turning back on, it says..
"Secure booting error!
cause: Boot certification verify"
At that point, I must hold the power button and restart the phone into its normal operational state. I would really like to overcome this issue but I have no idea what would cause something like this! Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Tevin

you have to be unlocked as well to use custom recovery. search freegee in the app store and use it to unlock your phone plus it installs a custom recovery at the same time!

Did you remove any apps? Is FreeGee installed already? We need to know this stuff.
Try holding the Power button for 20sec. That should turn it off. Then power on again.

Boot verification error
Secure booting Error!
Cause : boot certification verify
Heres the situation. I just flashed cyanfox or whatever its called. I cleared the cache, user data, and dalvik cache. There is no FreeGee. Assume i have not done anything except: flash TWRP(which failed to recognize touch screen properly), flash CWM, transfer CyanFox-geefhd-050913.zip, gapps-jb43-20130726-signed.zip, E980-MODEM-BM9615A-CWM, and then install all 3 of them in the order presented.
I then cleared applicable caches and data then rebooted with CWM.
When i hold the power button to reboot the device i get this error.
When i remove the battery i get this error when it tries to boot up.
How do i... un-**** this.

First, is you phone Sprint? Those files you're trying to flash are not Sprint. I'm guessing it's international version but I'm not sure.
If you are on Sprint, then you'll need to use LGNPST or the LGFlashTool to restore your phone.
Thanks! Helped me a lot!
Found "freegee" in the play store and it worked awesome!!! Thanks a lot.

how to install fregee app .i cant turn on the phone or recovery mode plz help, but i can go to download mode.phone is not recognize by the adb
There are recovery available for F240 users, rom for E980 is exploding. I am very sad to see myself being left in the dark....I almost want to flash the E980 into my F240, let it work or die, once and for all....
actually users have reported using cm 10.1 and 10.2 roms on f240 models.... also AOSP roms for e980 don't flash a modem so you don't even have to do that..... but some people have suggested to wipe internal memory or internal sd card when moving from stock to aosp roms..... happy flashing.... don't forget to share your experience

OK, i did not flash the recovery because i did not think there are any rom out there to try.
Since the Roms for e980 seems working with F240, now the recovery is flashed into my phone. So far, doing back up in CWM, and downloading the PAC rom for testing.....
wish me luck....if I dont come back again...that just means my F240s bricked....

yes probably you need to circumvent bootloader security and freegee will do that...do root first and install busybox
keep trying......when i was doing it gave me some error over wifi i switched to mobile data and it downloaded fine ...... i don't why but that actually happened and doesn't make sense..

I used to be able to see "secure boot error" but not after freegee. Put it this way, i never able/have a chance to boot into recovery after freegee.
my phone cannot boot into rom or recovery....just a LG logo after pressing the power button...
hold volume down and power together will have a message of factory hard reset come up. I hit the "power" for factory hard reset, but still, nothing happen.

That is strange you should see a secure boot error after freegee worked
Secure boot error
Cause device unlock so boot success
have you tried the button combination to get into recovery?? if that fails your option maybe to download LG flashtool connect your device in download mode and flash stock rom and then start again
what I suspect is that freegee didn't install properly

its normal to get this message when you try to boot into twrp http://i42.tinypic.com/5n7psj.jpg, it just means that loki is working. What do you mean your tablet doesnt boot anymore? You d better ask for help in twrp's thread, drgravy who ported twrp for gpad is very helpful.
No I have not tried to factory reset the device. I don't even know how to do it, i guess through LG PC TOOL. I would love to avoid becasue of some stored photos.
"Doesn't boot" - it means that after turning on, apears LG logo, and then the ifno about this error and it automaticly turns to recovery.
I assume you have non stock recovery. Do a search the in the forum. It is finicky and took me 3 tries but then was able to boot into recovery. From there did a factory reset and was able to boot up. Still got that same message during the first 3 seconds of the boot screen but then it switched to the Google kit Kat screen and boot completed.

Did you flash a custom rom? Also which version of twrp did you install? 2.6.3.0 doesnt work normally, you need 2.6.3.1 or 2.6.3.2.To flash back to stock there are 2 ways, easiest is the lg mobile support tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2590185), you cant flash the stock from recovery or adb atm.

I havent used this feature in the gpad but it should work if you ever need to restore your tablet to a previous state. Take in mind though that this backup isnt stock as you had rooted your tablet in order to install twrp. To flash back to full stock (recovery, rom and even kernel if you had changed it) you have to use a method like lg mobile support tool.
