I bought this one: http://www.amazon.com/FRIEQ®-Universal-Waterproof-iPhone-Galaxy/dp/B00AW2QT8I/ref=pd_sim_cps_1
For the price I paid, I really can't complain. I'm fairly happy with it. I have the Otterbox commuter case and I can fit the phone in this armband with extra space to spare.

Yes. you can read some of the reviews that confirm that too. If you buy this one be sure to test the waterproof feature with a napkin to make sure it's not defective.
Ah, well I went to get it and they don't ship to Canada, and it is not on amazon.ca.
Looks like I gotta find another one.

Im thinking of either the Official Samsung Book Case or one of the belkin cases.
Any reviews or pros/cons of the official case? I bought a cheap one from ebay, but I haven't received it yet, so I'm thinking of buying this case or another quality case.
Looks like an awesome case. But even with the 30% off, I think I'm going to pass.
I bought a similar case for my iPad. And liked at first. But I often took the tablet out of the case. Eventually I just got so lazy I stopped using the case all together and just use a sleeve instead and get out a foldable stand when I need it.
get the keyboard dock and a neoprene sleeve ;p
I think we should start 3 more threads about this case.

I'm getting it because I use a big satchel designed for a 13" laptop to carry it out of the house. I probably will not use the case at home, and use the case when I'm out and about.

OP, I say buy it and try it. If you don't like it, there's always Craigslist. That's my plan.

I was interested in whether the official samsung case was worth it or if it would be better to go with the belkin one from best buy. Has anyone tried out either of them?

Quite happy with it.
In my opinion the nillkin v series is probably the bestn in it's class, but that's personal, and I haven't received it yet. The no name moko slim isn't that good I think. That's what I have right now
I have also ordered the nilkim and waiting for it to arrive.
please u have the Link on the nilkin. is it on eBay?

The way the stand works is what I am looking for. I am keeping my eye out for the Speck Fit Folio, but this one looks interesting. Is it slim? From the pictures they have, it kind of seems it may be bulky. Do you have any pictures of it?

I have one and it does not support sleep/wake.
Just waiting for mine to arrive, it says clearly on eBay, smart wakeup, if it really doesn't have it u can return it, that's not my item on eBay but is similar. Also says 100% nillkin brand, depends on your model but

I bought a no name white folio case from eBay before ordering my Moko UltraSlim. I paid $1.79 with free shipping from China! It's not bad at all. It has the smart wake/sleep function too. Honestly though I do prefer my Moko UltraSlim which was around $15 or $20 (don't remember how much) shipped from Amazon.

It's bulkier than the speck fit. but probably the least bulky compared to all the slimbooks.
I bought one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/360721223665?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 in black.
It feels premium for something so cheap. It has the magnetic wakeup feature as well fold points for a stand. Definitely worth a look.

Is that the V case from Nillkin or just the normal one? Wondering if anyone has received the V case as it's supposedly able to keep the screen cover closed.
Keeping the cover closed is another subject in the other hand it doesn't keep it closed.

Any leads on waterproof cases for N5? I have a generic waterproof pouch, but it has solid rear panel, so no camera use. Also the pouch is limiting as button operation is difficult and headphone jack is not accessible. Wishing for a LifeProof or Otterbox, but doubt N5 will have enough sales to garner that kind of attention.
We can hope. The Lifeproof cases are the only thing that makes me jelly of iPhone/Galaxy phones.
Why don't we send a group email (from all we users of nexus 5 here on the forum), asking them for a waterproof cover?

Welcome to the forum. You must really want a waterproof case! It seems like you signed up just for it! Anyhow, I would really like a waterproof case as well.
Would make me feel better if I had a waterproof/durable case.

Probably going to have to go that route, I doubt any of the big case companies will see enough numbers to make it worth their while. I'm not sure, though, if I would really trust the water proofing on a "cheap knockoff".

I have a $15 lifeproof knockoff for samsung S4 and i can attest to the splashproof. Havent the need to test the 6ft waterproof for real yet. But whover made this cheap knockoff shou;d consider making one for N5. they can corner the market early... wonder if i can find who make the case...
A water and shock proof case would most definitely be hugely helpful. As I spend quite a bit of time running/cycling with it, getting caught out in the rain with my phone can (and has) ended badly. If only LifeProof would heed our calls...
Being that this thread is from November, I don't think it's gonna happen. Best you'll get, is a trident aegis or Ballistic with port covers.

Sorry to disappoint you but does not apply to N5. The case I was referring to was for Samsung S4.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/111156742485?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
I was saying that whoever made that case for S4 should try to make similar case for N5 and that they would prob be able to corner the market fairly easily given there is still not really decent cheap waterproof shockproof slim case for N5.
Hey guys, I'm going to be traveling in a week and I wanted to grab a case that covers the ports just to be safe. I know otterbox usually has these types of cases but sadly they aren't making any for the N5. I looked through most cases on Amazon and all of them seemed to not cover the ports up. Has anyone come across one that does? Preferably under 30 dollars.

Thanks, I saw you said that it works with the TYLT charger. Any ideas if it would work with the nexus wireless charger, as well as hold with the magnets? I doubt it will since it seems to be a bit bulky but just wondering if you knew.

The Armorbox port covers suck, for lack of a better term. The TPS plastic doesn't serve well as port covers simply because the material is a little too rigid.
The Ballistic SG Maxx case however uses a silicone setup for the port covers. Works very well.

I also like the Otterbox case, especially commuter series, high quality, good protection and not too bulk, too expensive.
I got Otterbox series for my HTC One X and Samsung GS3 for under $20/each.

There are no otterbox cases for the N5 though.
Maxboost case purchased. I don't use the hip holster but the case is great for $9.99
Black case does attract lint but besides that covers all ports but leaves holes for the mic and 2 holes for speakers.
Surprisingly doesn't add much bulk despite the pictures looking like it does. In short I'm very happy from a fairly demanding customer.
I am however waiting for a Trident Case as a higher quality one with maybe some color. This is a great cheap option for people who want a decent quality case until the heavy hitters come out. :good:
I've been looking for a waterproof case, but I can't seem to find anything. (Anything that doesn't look like a plastic bag, anyway.) I was looking at the Incipio Atlas, but I can't find any place that sells them. Are there any other options?

Yup. I emailed incipio and they said it was still in development and wouldn't be for sale for a couple more months. Nothing else exists as far as I can see.
I would've thought with the popularity of this phone, more companies would be supporting it. Pretty disappointing.

Just curious why you would want a waterproof case with the phone having the nano coating? I know obviously that doesn't mean waterproof but its damn close! Take a look at the 30min water test with the moto g: http://youtu.be/IVaTKG5q4YI?t=14m1s
Now i know you would want some extra protection with a phone thats a bit more expensive but I wouldn't worry to much about it.

I am looking for a case so I can use my phone on a 4 Wheeler and Snowmobile for GPS. Given the nature of both sports, I don't feel the coating is a safe enough bet. I am not looking for a day-to-day carry case. :good: The last thing I want to do is go for an 8 hour ride in a snow storm and risk ruining a phone that could've been protected.
