In call volume too loud! CM10.1 - LG Nitro HD

Hello team, i have an issue with the CM10.1 18/05, that is when i'm making a call, the call volume is too loud at first dial, i have to use the volumen button to down it.
Other issue is when playing music with headset or not, and i have a in-coming call, ringtone volume is too LOW,
how can i fix it?

So where do I download this ROM you are posting? Because, I mean, if you were asking a question I would assume you would use the CM10.1 nightlies discussion over in the general forum, not the development forum which is for posting ROMs and whatnot...:silly:

It was "ninja'd". I'm a smartass, but 90% of the time there's a reason.

Haha I figured. I can't help the guy with his problem though, I sold my Nitro a while back. I drop in from time to time, see if the tumbleweeds have started blowing

Well, the in-call volume: the solution would be to just turn it down... Speaking of, I wish I had that problem; I have to use speakerphone or bluetooth to have any hope of hearing someone on the other end..
As for the other one, maybe use a louder ringtone?
I'm counting the days until I move from the Nitro as well. One too many drops have made mine pretty much useless for anything other than running stock ROMs and being used as only a phone; and even that is rare. :\

Volume during a call

I can not in English - Google Translator ...
When phone is very low speaker volume, almost hear the other person.
I'm not the only one who has this problem.
Is there any solution to this problem? I do not want to go into service ....
ROOT, upload a different rom - what record?, edit the file?
When listening loud everything is OK
Volume
If I understand right, when you speaking with someone the volume is very low and can't hear the other person? If yes, press the volume up button when you are in a call but if it is already at maximum, send the phone to the warranty.
This is happening with me as well..
Waiting for a solution to this ..

Sound in speaker in silent mode.

I hear the faint noise / buzz / snap the speaker even when I have silent mode enabled, anyone else who has or had?
Solution? Hardware or Software?

When do you hear this noise? Always, or when you are receiving an incoming call?

When I press the screen to launch an app or make a selection from some menu.
And I can have the phone vibrate or silent, is the same in both cases.
I have 2 Gnex (Maguro), my oldest I have to put your ear against the speaker to hear this, but on my brand new sound is very clear.
Exact like this-

I see. Odd thing. Cannot reproduce it with my gnex. I don't have any advice on this one, sorry.

Same sort of thing happens when you lock your lockscreen.
There's about ~1 second of static after the actual lock sound (or alone if you have the phone on silent).
It's been around since the GNex came out. Nothing bothersome to me at all, really.
I can see how this could annoy someone, however.

On my new GN (bought 8/8-2012) is quite high sound coming in silent mode.
On my old GN heard only very weakly.
Should be a software problem.

[Q] how to stop speaker notifications when headset in?

Anyone figure this out yet? My one main annoyance with the phone is this....
In CM10 there is an option for silent when connected to a2dp and headphones. guessing aokp is the same.

That's what it does. It silences the handset speaker (if chosen) while connected to headset or a2dp. It just gives you the choice to silence the handset or choose vibrate.

I am also plagued by this problem but I cannot find any such option. Using CM10 A7.
Also if anybody knows a way to make the lowest volume quieter, everybody can hear my calls even on the lowest volume!
:bump:
sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but I'm running CM10 stable on a Verizon GSIII, and cannot for the life of me find the option to stop speaker notifications when headset is plugged in. Is it not available on the Verizon version?

[Q]Disable phone auto-speaker?

Hello...I was wondering if there is a way to disable the feature where the phone changes to speaker phone when not next to your ear...thanks
[JTC ONE m8]
It doesn't do that on mine. I have to touch the speaker icon to change to both loud speakers. I think you are just getting confused with how loud it actually is when using the normal ear phone speaker.

Holy crap... I'm sorry
Just checked automateit and forgot I had downloaded the rules to make this feature work... They were turned on but under the inactive tab so I didn't check it. I feel like an idiot, mods feel free to delete this thread.

This shouldn't happen on the stock setup. The OP of this thread had created rules in the app AutomateIt to turn on the speaker automatically.
Are you running an app, custom ROM, or other mod that might be causing this?

Notification sound "fading in" effect

Hello xda,
Any time I receive a text or mail the notification sound starts low but quickly ramps up in volume. Is anyone experiencing this as well? Is there a way to set this so it's loud from the start? Hope that makes sense.
I appreciate your help and time
I noticed when the phone rings sounds only by the lower speaker, and sound very low and muffled.

Turning off "Pocket Mode" did make a "slight" improvement, but not much. Thanks for the tip though. :good:

Many others (including myself) have noticed and posted about this issue here (though not enough in my opinion). It's not restricted to notifications and ringtones either, it happens with *all* sounds on the phone.
Unfortunately, there is no way to fix it. Different sound drivers, updated firmware, build.prop settings... Nothing seems to get rid of this "speaker protection" crap. I am still hopeful to someday see a mod or firmware update that addresses it though, because after trying all those different things, I've run out of ideas.
Sent from my HTC 10 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I've also noticed that, it sounds fine when I preview notifications and ringtones, but when the phone actually rings it is a lot more quiet and muted. It does appear that the top speaker is not being used for ringtones. I'll try to call htc, let's see what they say.
Called HTC, spoke with a girl who sounded like she was following some sort of flowchart. Needless to say she couldn't help and concluded that it was a defective hardware. I tried to explain that others are having the same issue and it appears to be a bug, but I don't think she understood. They are sending me a new phone. I'm sure the new phone will have the same issue. Maybe if more people call HTC with this issue, they will figure it out.

Hi there
the same problem here, without any mod, crack o root solution. But the difference were the answer from HTC technical support: " this is a technical and engineering design, it´s not a bug", this mean: " f**** you costumer, and again, a new dissapoint from HTC. I has tried in several forums, here in XDA and another ones: nothing for to do, i loose my faith in the HTC 10. It´s very frustating because a little detail ( the ringtone volume and quality) destroy a overall experience

OH, so they know about it? This is a technical and engineering design fu**-up. My notifications are half the volume of the M8. If that is their answer, then I will probably return my phone.
Any solutions yet?
On mine it rings from the bottom speaker for about 3 rings, quiet, then ramps up and uses the top speaker too. With V4a on now once the top speaker kicks in it's very loud. It gives me a chance to answer it before it blasts me out.
I just bought a new htc 10 and quickly noticed this annoying sound fading in issue, searched online and this seems to be the only place talked about it with no solution, does everybody else really okay with this??
I guess at least it sounded fine when using headphone, but with this speaker fading crap everything sound like its echoing right now. This NEEDS to get solved.
Any solution ?
I came here to search for any ways to turn this "feature" off (and that's what it is, despite how nobody asked for it or wanted it). Looks like nobody has found any solutions. But here's my theory anyway:
The "fading in" volume effect must be a function of the Boom Sound software. It's a noise gate. And it sucks. For instance, try listening to any music that has any hard hits around any silence (a good example is "Brain Stew" by Green Day). It's really annoying.
I wish somebody could figure out how to disable the Boom Sound software altogether.
According to Google, https://www.google.com/search?newwi...0i22i30k1j33i22i29i30k1j33i21k1.0.leWX0kmgR6I it's a known Feature of Android 5, and many people complain about it, but there is no way to disable it.
Some people can workaround the issue, on some rom, with some apps or players; there is no universal solution.
In the best case, some chat app will not bell if they are already full screen; and this is an issue for me because if I have my phone plugged, and display timeout is 1h, then, it won't bell for incoming messages, and if I am >1m from it, I won't know people are talking to me. That's why I try to always make all apps always bell. But, if I am listening to music, the permanent bell that comes with intense chat may turn the music off all the time.
I not sure if I shall downgrade my phone to Android 4, 2.2, or 1.8 ...
.. arg, I am stupid, those versions have never been ported for my most recent phone.
