What LTE bands does the T-Mobile Note II support - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I tried to find a direct answer literally everywhere but can't find nothing outside of AT&T LTE bands and T-Mobile Note II supporting it or not references.
What I'm looking for is international LTE support, I can't find the exact LTE bands the T-Mobile Note II supports (mainly because when it came out, the LTE radio wasn't activated so it wasn't widely covered on)
I'm in the Philippines for college and I have two Note IIs on me, I'm looking to sell one of them. Here in the Philippines, there are two models of the Note II, the N7100 and the N7105, the N7100 only works with 3G/HSPA+ 4G while the N7105 supports there LTE bands over here, which is very much a selling point apparently (who would get N7100 over a N7105 LTE for the same price?)
Anyways I'm just wondering what LTE bands this phone supports.
I know the T-Mobile Note II supports the AWS band for LTE (same band as AT&T LTE, thus why AT&T A1428 pre-AWS iPhone 5's support LTE on T-Mobile LTE markets) but does it support any other band, no way it just has support for AWS LTE.
The LTE networks here in the Philippines runs on
Smart Philippines LTE : Band 1 (2100MHz), Band 3 (1800MHz) and Band 5 (850MHz).
Globe Philippines LTE : Band 3 (1800MHz)

I think the SGH-889 supports 4 and 17. I could be wrong.

[Q] will the international note 2 work with lte in canada?

Hi Note lovers!
So I'm looking to get the international version of the note 2, apparently it has LTE on board but i was wondering what frequencies, because I was hoping to get it working on bell mobility in Canada. I know it will work with the HSPA networks and all so its not a big deal for me but if anyone knows about the lte bands on the phone and on bell that would be great!
happy hacking

2600mhz band is deployed for Bell/Rogers. Int'l version will have this band. However, the 2600mhz coverage is faster than the AWS LTE being mainly deployed by Bell/Rogers/TELUS, which could mean spotty coverage and poor building penetration of the signal.

ahha thanks! so technically it will work but really depends on what spectrum they are using in my area?
Be aware the international n7100 that is being offered for pre orders does NOT have lte built in. The lte model (n7105) is coming later.

[Q] GT-N7100 T-Mobile USA Prepaid

Is anyone using the international version of the Note 2 (Which I gather has the model number N7100) on T-mobile in the US? I am only interested in makign sure HSPA+ "4G" speeds will work for me.
In case originating country matters, I am looking to import from India.
The 3g speed will not work on T-mobile only edge. I am using At&t and I am having hspa+.

Have you tried using it? The 7100 specs show support for 2100 band o 3G and wikipedia says T-Mobile runs on 1700/2100 for 3G. Do both bands need to be supported for it to work?

Yes, TMo US uses a split AWS band 1700/2100 for 3G and needs both to work.
However, in some cities TMo has refarmed some spectrum at 1900MHz for 3G use, and if you are lucky enough to be in one, you would get 3G.

For t-mobile USA, their HSPA+ network (or 4G you called) use AWS band, which refers to 1700/2100. The international version N7100 is UMTS/HSPA 800/850/1900/2100. This N7100 is missing the t-mobile USA magic number 1700. So you will not get their HSPA+ speed.
However, with recent t-mobile project on refarming their PCS1900 frequency in the US, the N7100 will work on HSPA+ network, BUT not at current moment in all states. Only specific cities such as Las Vegas, NV will work.
T-mobile USA promised the PCS1900 band will fully operate by end of 2012, so i would say NO for now, but yes in year 2013.
It will depend on how long you would like to wait but t-mobile does have galaxy note 2 (model SGH-T889) which might start selling on October 24, 2012.
Side Note - October 24, 2012 is a big day for US people who want galaxy note 2 as this is the day Samsung Mobile Electronics USA makes for the US Launch events in New York City for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 for all 5 US major wireless carriers. :good::good::good::good::good:

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the input. Gives me a better idea of what I am looking at. I spoke to T-Mobile and it looks like my area does not have 3G on 1900/2100 as yet. (Though a couple of towns close by seem to have gotten it recently).
I was looking at getting the phone quickly as I am stuck with a Nokia N9 with a cracked screen and need a new phone.
I really dislike the T-mobile branding on the phone. Are there any other issues like locked Bootloader or T-Mobile bloatware I should be worried about? And do they sell unlocked versions from day one?

well, in my opinion i would say i will get the t-mobile branded t-mobile galaxy note II. Reason why is the FCC report for SGH-T899 shows it is LTE ready. N7100 is LTE capable, but you wont be able to use T-mobile LTE network when they finsihed deploying. Again, T-mobile LTE magic number is 700 and 1700 for their LTE band frequency. I am not exactly sure if N7100 has 700 mhz band, but if not, then it will be stuck in HSPA+ while others can enjoy the LTE speed.
Yes, SGH-T899 does have t-mobile bloatware, and bootloader might be unlocked but since you are in this forum, so i am sure great developers in this forum can get easily fixed.
They dun sell unlocked version, but if you are the t-mobile primary account holder, you can call them for the unlock code. They will email you unlock code and instruction with 48 hours.
Side Note - N7100 UMTS/HSPA max speed is 21Mbps. T-mobile branded SGH-T899 is 42.2Mbps max speed for HSPA+.

I am currently using my GT-I9300 on T-Mobile's 1900 band in Las Vegas and i'm getting "ok" speeds of about 4-6mbps down and 1mbps up in certain areas and at certain times. For example during night time i get that speed but throughout the day i get 2-4 down and 1 up. It's ok, not that great...not awful either but it works. I'm honestly tired of having a beast phone with a crap internet connection. Take the bad with the good if you can.
I'm a little confused. I thought (and was pretty sure) N7100 does not support 4G LTE.

Hi, I am.
I live in the DC area and usually get h+. Only problem is that when I am moving around and going into an area that hasn't been refarmed, I pass to edge...
It got so annoying that I bought a nexus 4 and started using that, which always worked on h+ seamlessly.
Too bad I got tired of it after two weeks and went back to the note2! I'm hoping that tmobile will improve the areas it covers with h+...
EDGE only

[Q] Will the I9305 work on Tmobile's LTE network?

I have done an extensive search both on Google and XDA Developers, and could not find an answer to my question.
I know that Samsung has released an LTE compatible version of the S3, the I9305 (LTE 800 / 1800 / 2600). So my question is, when the LTE network becomes available and more prevalent for T-mobile, will I be able to get LTE speeds with an unlocked I9305 S3? Thanks.

As I recall, T-Mobile doesn't offer LTE. Or maybe they have started recently and I just haven't realized it. But nonetheless, you can use the i9305, on T-Mobile seeing as it is an unlocked gsm phone. So it'll go as fast as T-Mobile will let it.
EDIT: Just kidding, T-Mobile DOES have 4G LTE, supposedly the fastest out there too.

That's not all there is to it... They launched LTE-Advanced right off the bat. It is highly optimized over LTE revision 0.
OP, you would not even get HSPA+ on that phone if there isn't support for the 1700 band but you definitely will not get LTE based on the bands you posted.

T-Mobile is unique because they use the AWS 1700 band for LTE and 3G/HSPA. Verizon and at&t use 700MHz for their LTE which is the problem. We should start seeing a bunch of phones launch with AWS LTE this year. I would just wait and see what comes down the pipeline.

[Q] Cel-Fi Signal Booster + Verizon S4 + TMobile Sim Card = HELP

Hey Guys,
Not sure where to ask at this point, but I know that there is a Verizon forum for the S4, but this is more T-Mobile inclined question.
My mom was given an S4 at her job from Verizon but I convinced her to give it to me since I wanted it and I gave her my Tmobile Note 2.
I put my sim card into the Verizon S4 and configured the APN setting so now im getting faster data speeds with the Verizon S4 than I was with my Tmobile Note 2. So everything works but the phone is in Global mode, which I dont really care at this point.
My question is though, how can I get the Verizon S4 to connect to the Tmobile signal cel-fi booster that I have. I have no service at my job so therefore I obtained one of the boosters offered by Tmobile, works great with my Note 2, but the S4 does not recognize the cel-fi booster.
Please advise...
I guessing the cell fi thing is for tmobile phone only. I'm sure tmobile don't want just anyone to use their products.
It's probably a firmware deal and not the SIM that recognized the cell fi.

Yes, I definitely understand that, but I am using a TMobile sim card, logged into Tmobile towers, using Tmobile 4G LTE network, but the hardware/firmware is Verizon, so that is why I am asking if it is doable to get this working? Perhaps if flashing a rom or something?

Your best bet is to call T Mobile tech support and ask them. You've got a really obsscure question that probably has to deal with the frequencies the 2 devices communicate on that no one here has probably ever dealt with. T Mobile is going to be the quickest way to get this answer.
The T-Mobile cel-fi operates at the 1700MHz aws frequencies. According to this thread they are not enabled by default on the Verizon galaxy s4. So that's why it's not picking up the signal from the cel-fi.

Guys,
I work for Cel-Fi - it looks like you are correct.
The RS2 Cel-Fi (the latest one) will boost 2 bands: 1.9GHz (aka PCS, Band 2) + AWS
BUT the older RS1 (we dont sell it anymore) will only boost AWS and not Band 2...
Check here for details on the Bands 2 and 4, and here for definitions of the bands...
It looks like the S4 gets 1900 band 2 (specs S4 for T-Mobile UMTS: Band I (2100);UMTS/HSPA+: AWS Band IV / 2100 / 1900 / 850;Band II (1900);Quad Band GSM;LTE)
Let us know which Cel-Fi you have...

They do, it switches to global mode (GSM) when you insert a non-verizon sim.. Most CDMA smartphones have this capability nowadays, which they did not before.. Verizon is the only carrier I know that does not lock the gsm radio on their phones, I think Sprint's phones are sim locked

Can I use LTE with Fido using my SGH-T889V Galaxy Note 2 (purchased from mobilicity)

Hey guys. I ditched mobilicity due to 0 coverage. I unlocked this T889V using the service mode method. The phone is not rooted.
It worked with Fido but data was not working. I called Fido and they told me to [email protected] off because it isn't their phone.
Googled around and found the Fido APN settings. Now data is working but it is only 3G.
Is there a painless way for LTE to work ? The fido SIM is a LTE SIM.
If not LTE then even 4G would be nice.
Thanks !

yep
I don't think the T889 will support LTE on Fido.
www.fido.ca/web/content/phonewarranty/configure_unlocked_device_guide&lang=en
Check out the bands for LTE used by Fido (Rogers) [2100/2600]. 2600mHz is not supported on the T889. LTE needs both bands to work with one for upload and one for download. It will support Fido's HSPA but their network is limited to 21 mbps (theoretically possible). Also check to see if LTE is active in your area for your carrier.
Check out the AT&T note 2 forum here for the topic of t mobile note 2 on AT&T for information on getting them running. AT&T and Rogers devices are very similar in supported bands IIRC. I doubt you will find anything earth shattering though.

I'd wait before Videotron launches their LTE (should be soon-ish) before doing anything too risky. Why Videotron? They also sell the T889V and should upgrade the modems then to enable it, or so I believe.
If you just can't wait, there's always my LTE guide, but there's currently no coming back from that procedure. Also: I don't believe anyone has confirmed if the procedure worked with phones having been upgraded to 4.3.
The Canadian "Big Three" (Bell, Rogers, Telus) have deployed LTE on AWS (band 4 - 1700 and 2100 MHz combined) and 2600 MHz. 700 MHz has been auctionned off and should eventually work on the LTE Note 2.
@Coug76 : wow this page is just wrong about their LTE being on 2100 MHz (band 1) and not AWS and this will just confuse the heck out of people. (I understand some early LTE-capable iPhone and iPad marketing material made the same glaring mistake.) Industry Canada's licensing database will back me up on this one, as well as the ITU's regional frequency assignments.

Working together, we CAN convince Fido to change their minds about what frequencies they REALLY use vs. what they publish as a reference for their customers. Power ti the people!
I don't think I will bother with a sternly worded letter to the editor. I'll leave such limited actions to those who take these things lightly. Matters such as these demand immediate, clear, and unequivocal intervention! I'm calling the Governor General's office. Comrades, we can start a letter writing campaign!
