Restoring Stock Rom - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a Wildfire with CyanogenMod 7,.1 and Clockwork mod.
I want to revert it to stock rom (gingerbread version) and update the radio, but i only found the RUU way, that delete clockworkmod and root.
There is a zip that i can flash to have GB?
Thanks a lot!

[Q]Restoring Stock 2.2 Recovery for Return - help!

Short version: Anyone know how I can replace ClockWorkMod Recovery with the stock 2.2 Incredible recovery? I need to take my phone to the shop, and that's the last nonstandard thing I have. I'm back to S-On using the Unrevoked S-ON tool.
Long Version: My phone's internal speaker stopped working after the 2.2 OTA. I was rooted/s-off before the update, but flashed the stock 2.1 recovery to apply the official OTA when Verizon notified me that it was ready. After I applied the OTA, my phone's internal speaker stopped working.
I flashed back to factory 2.1 via this thread: showthread.php?t=757927 (can't post the full link, for some reason, but it's on XDA-Dev), then applied the May OTA, after which point the internal speaker still worked. I then applied the Froyo OTA again (using the official update.zip) and the internal speaker stopped working again.
At this point I decided to just take it in to the Verizon store. I flashed ClockworkMod Recovery so I could use Unrevoked's S-On tool. At this point I have stock Froyo, S-On, but ClockworkMod Recovery. Any idea how I can revert to the stock 2.2 recovery? Reinstalling the factory 2.1 image failed because it's an older version and I'm S-ON. I just need the factory recovery so I can take it into the shop.
Can I just flash a stock recovery using PB31IMG.zip? Can clockworkmod replace itself with stock? Should I just go back S-OFF and reflash the factory 2.1? Do they even check S-OFF? Do they even check the recovery partition?
Flash s-off back and follow the tutorial to downgrade to stock 2.1
They don't care if you have froyo or not.
Once you have 2.1 back, you can flash s-on
Good luck

[Q] Stock rom flashable zip?

Help!
My dad needs his phone unrooted, i downloaded a flashable zip from a stock rom bt it didnt work. unfortunately i first wiped everything.

You have to flash a stock ruu...

so best is to install a custom rom now, then flash a stock ruu?
or is there a way to install ruu from recovery or bootloader?
and where could I find the latest froyo ruu for europe?

Install HTC sync (to get drivers), download the stock ruu (which you'll find in the parent thread) and connect your phone, then run the program. Done.
you can flash a stock ruu from fastboot mode if you have no rom on your device
Can't install the ruu's from the topic in development.,
got hboot 0.93.001.
can't find a ruu for that =(
have you tried flashing a PB99IMG.zip?
haven't found a good one yet.

[Q] Quick a stupid question about going back to stock rom

So I now have Clockwork Recovery 3.x and running cm7. I tried straight flashing the latest T-Mobile ROM (1.22?).
It fails right away. I am not really wanting to unroot or turn S-ON. Is it failing because I am using cwr 3.x and need to flash the 2.x recovery? I thought I read somewhere that to flash a Froyo rom 2.x is needed, and 3.x is only for the GB roms...
Also, if and when I do successfully flash the stock rom, will this remove root/s-ff or the other unlocks gfree performed? And the linked thread for flashing the OTA rom instructs to rename to update.zip... is that only for the non-rooted folks?
And lastly, since the clockwork recovery 2.x has been out there for a while, thread info is quite old. Can i simply reflash the 2.x recovery using ROM Manager?
Thanks in advance.
The 1.22 is just an update zip it is not a complete PC10IMG stock rom that is why it is failing, make sure you have s-off via gfree before flashing a stock PC10IMG other wise it will turn your s-on, there is only a 1.19 complete PC10IMG rom out right now, this is pre OTA.
Yes you should be able to use rom manager to reflash older CWM recovery

Ill try to help a fellow tampa area guy out
the stock rom your trying to flash isnt going to work with CWM 3.XX your need to replace it with 2.XX. flashing a stock rom will not remove root or s-off.
when i go back and forth using CWM from 3.xx to 2.xx i follow these directions... there super easy... and i have never had a problem with it.
1. Install clockworkmod from market.
2. Flash Clockworkmod recovery from Rom Manager.
3. Navigate to clockworkmod/download/koush.tandtgaming.com/recoveries (or where ever your recovery was downloaded to. This can be done in File Manager, Astro, or Androzip.
4. Mine was "recovery-clockwork-2.5.1.3-vision.img". Rename it to "recovery-clockwork-2.5.1.3-visionXXX.img" or something obviously different.
5. Download clockworkmod 3.0 from hereish:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893933
6. Move your recovery.img to clockworkmod/download/koush.tandtgaming.com/recoveries and name it recovery-clockwork-2.5.1.3-vision.img
7. Go into ROM Manager and Flash Clockworkmod recovery, it will say its still 2.5.1.3 when your done. Reboot into recovery and you'll be welcomed by a new orange 3.0

of course you can just reverse these directions to go back to 2.xx...
you shouldnt have to change the stock rom name to "update.zip" just flash the zip like you would any other rom through CWM...
Thanks WarBird! I think I'll just flash the recovery images using flash_image. Can you confirm what joemn said though? If I want to flash the stock ROM, do I need both the PC whatever and the ota?
Also
make sure you have s-off via gfree before flashing a stock PC10IMG other wise it will turn your s-on

This doesn't make sense. Based on this, you're saying that if I have s-on, flashing pc10img will... turn s-on...?

You are misunderstanding me, what I am saying is if you rooted via the old method and don't have radio s-off via gfree flashing a stock PC10IMG will turn your s back on, and what I told you about the 1.22 update zip is correct.

Ah I see. Since I was late to the G2 game, I did use gfree to get s-off as mentioned in my op. Thanks!

[Q] OTA after flashing interim CWM

Hi,
first, my former device was a Samsung Galaxy S and i'm quite familiar with flashing ROMs and such on that device. The HTC One X is my first HTC device so i'm new in flashing and HTCs.
I used the method described in the below thread to flash CWM to my HTC One X
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1579797
My question now is this, can i receive OTAs with CWM flashed on my device? It is implied in the thread that i need the stock recovery to do so.
There is a stock recovery image supplied in this thread. Can i flash it to any strock ROM version or do i need the specific one for my ROM version and if so where can i get this version?
In order to flash CWM i had to unlock the bootloader, do i need to revert this for OTAs?
Thanks for your answers.
Hey,
with Clockworkmod flashed, you cant install OTA updates, you have to flash stock recovery and relock your bootloader.
If you have a custom rom, you have to install Stock RUU to recieve and install OTAs.
Greetz SoLdieR9312
You need stock rom and stock recovery. If your stock rom is just rooted, that's fine, but if you deleted system apps or modded, it might not work.
To install stock recovery you need to be unlocked, but unless you relocked, you're good to go.
You don't need to relock to install OTA.
To install RUU, you need to be relocked, but you don't need to install the stock recovery.
Edit: Urgh, that was quite a bump from the guy above. But the correction is still useful.

Reverting from Leedroid to Stock?

Right,
I've been on Leedroids Rom for a couple of months now, and I just feel to revert back to stock, and kind of, start fresh..
What is the simplest way of reverting?
Or would I be better off finding different custom roms?
I was thinking about going to the official stock roms, but adding tweaks and stuff to it. I'm also a rooted user

If you wanna go back to stock then flash the stock boot.img and recovery, relock the bootloader and flash your RUU. Or go for a new custom ROM (get Lee to update his to the new RUU)
