[Q] No call sound in earpiece - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

K this is getting old. A couple weeks ago while I was still running the stock install of my Sprint Galaxy Note II, after the update on april 28th ( or near there), my earpiece just quit working in the middle of a call. The speakerphone and bluetooth headset were still working but nothing out of the earpiece. I tried everything to get it working again, even so far as doing a factory reset and nothing worked. So I got a new one that worked for 2 days then the same thing.
SO I figure it was the software update. Rooted and put on [ROM][Team WHOMP!] Whompasaurus, which worked good for a week and now the same problem. I have seen one other instance of this happening to someone online but no solution. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Just so you know I have, rebooted, re-flashe the rom, plugged in headphones, rebound bluetooth, cleard cache and done everything short of a full wipe and restore... which I will not do every week.

Finally got it working
I finally got it working. I was just looking around the web and I found a forum that said to use *#0*# to test the functions on the phone and it worked after I tested the receiver. Could have something to do with the sequence I did it in so here it is.
1. Used headset for call.
2. Unplugged headset and used keypad to bring up consol *#0*#.
3. Tested "Speaker" then "Receiver" and earpiece started working normally again.
So glad I finally have some kind of a work around.
UPDATE:
That was also a temporary fix. Form what I could find online it seams that the problem was with the headphone jack and I had to have it replaced. Working for now so hopefully I won't have any problems with this one.

Audio Issues: Can't make calls

I am not sure if this has been discussed before, I tried searching around but I couldn't find anyone dealing with this issue before with the GS3.
I've had this problem with the Motorola S305 Bluetooth headset I started using with my GS3. Basically it would have problems going back to regular non bluetooth calls after I would use the headset, even with bluetooth off the call would turn off and on over and over again, but eventually with repairing bluetooth or forceclosing bluetooth share and the phone app I was able to get it to go back to making calls normally, using the speaker for audio as well.
But 3 days ago that changed, I couldn't get it to make calls after I had used the bluetooth headset to listen to some music for a few hours. It'd take 20-30 seconds to launch the phone app and by then it'd have zero audio. The people I called said there was no volume when they connected, and music wouldn't come out of the speaker again. I tried the fixes I had used before, no dice.
I tend to run rooted but just haven't had the time lately to get back to it, so I've been running stock, nothing complicated, but I figured when I pulled the 4.3 stock upgrade that would have to fix it....but it didn't, same issue. I also factory reset, no difference. I can still bluetooth pair and get audio to the headset for music, but i can't make calls that way, seems to have the same 30 seconds of jammed no changes.
I took it to sprint, they had no clue obviously, it wasn't a corporate store and the closest one is a hour and a half away. I'm about to actually call them and demand a replacement be sent, but I should be able to figure this out somehow, am I missing something? I hope someone has dealt with this stupid issue before.

Temporarily blown speaker

I just encountered a strange problem. As I was listening to Google Voice Search kindly tell me the weather, the response sounded strange... "crackling" doesn't describe it correctly, but it sounded as if it was coming through a cell phone with bad reception. I then tried to play some music and it had a similar sound.
At first I was worried that after a good 7 months, the speakers on my GN10 had magically blown out.
But I reset the tablet and now it's fine.
Has this happened to anyone? Should I be concerned about it happening again (or more frequently) or shrug it off as a one time bug?
I'm glad to see the warranty is 12 months (and not 6 months as I originally thought), because I wonder if this is worth sending in to Samsung for repair.
It's not hardware it's a software issue since 4.4.2.
Yes, it is an issue since 4.4.2 and you don't need to reset to fix it. Just put the Note to sleep using the power button, wait 5 or 10 seconds and then unlock again. Make sure you wait the 5 or 10 seconds since it doesn't seem to work if you lock/unlock immediately. If it doesn't work the first time, try a few more times. It works for me and it beats rebooting.
I have the P605 version of tab. I've already ticked and unticked the mono/streo in accessibility but my output for built in speaker is still mono. Only the left speaker is functioning and the right isnt. For the headset, both produces sounds. I cant remember I installed something that have caused this.
Is this related to the 4.4.2 version?
I also have the same exact problem!
The left speaker of my Note 10.1 is not working but the right speaker is perfectly working.
I was so worried because there was a disturbing BZZZBZBZBZBZBBZBZ sound coming from my left speaker. I washed my screen with a few drops of water and I thought some got in through the speaker that's why it isn't working properly. I am so glad to know that this is a software problem and not my fault at all.
Will formatting really solve the problem? Thanks
I have a problem I have a Samsung tab A and on of my speakers are not working the other one is sound fine and when I have headphones in its fine but when I have them out the sound out of the speaker is not on but the other speaker is fine. What should I do ?

Headset mic stopped working/barley working. Software issue.

Hello everyone,
My LG G3 is giving me a hard time, when I connect a headset, its microphone isn't working or it does but it's barley audible compared to the device's own mic.
The headphones part is working as usual and when the headset is connected sounds goes only through them like it should.
I've started using this headset a few days ago and it worked like a charm but then it's suddenly stopped working like it had been.
Fortunately I have another LG G3 on hand, so first I checked the headset with it and it works perfect.
So then I've replaced the 3.5 audio jack from the other G3 into my own to figure out if it is causing the problem and it is NOT,
since I got no improvement in my own phone and I also put MY jack in the other G3 and it worked there flawlessly with two different headsets.
I've been trying to record into / monitor with two different apps (lg audio recorder and another another one).
I've killed all apps running in the background. I've restarted numerous times, ran CCleaner to clear cache memories and whatever.
At one point a few days ago, maybe it was just before it started (and this might be a clue) the "plugged device" icon or "headset" icon on the notification bar stayed even after I've disconnected the headset and I think I needed to restart the phone but if i'm not wrong the headset kept working after that.
I was trying to find any kind of audio service to restart or anything like that but I didn't find any, I just killed them all to see if it helps.
I've also tried using "soundabout" app to try to force the audio path to the headset and played with some settings but to no avail (I disabled soundabout service after that attempt).
Right now I see no other option but a hard reset and I'm pretty sure it will solve the issue. but I hate going through backing up and restoring everything. and even so, who said this issue won't happen again? I've tried to search for an answer but found nothing like my problem on the web.
I just read something old from 2013 that mentions a bug in android audio. not sure it's related. something about "AudioPolicyMangerBase" (it seems I can't post links yet) from an app that had a switch to switch between headset mode or phone mode. but in any case it's no longer maintained. again, not sure it's related.
Update: Now I got no sound with two different headsets on the SECOND LG G3 as well. it seems messing with it around, plugging and unplugging messes with it's software somehow and maybe it locks the audio route in a way that it's can't work.
Any way to reset all audio ins/outs routes in the device?
I'll appreciate your help. Thanks a lot!
Roy.

Anyone with this specific BT issue?

Phone has been solid since a week ago when I got it. Works like a champ, BT audio in the car works(2016 Colorado with MyLink NAV system)... Works really well with Android Auto... phone call quality through the car was perfect... Updated to 3.2.1 yesterday or the day before, still works great, no issues...
Today I am on a couple calls in the car, no problem. Hang up on one call, try to make another about 10 min later, says I am connected to the person, but I cannot hear them and they cannot hear me. Try a few times, same issue. Try calling other people, same issue.
Reboot the phone, same issue. Stop and turn off the car for a minute, same issue. I can talk to them on speakerphone, but no audio goes in or out over the phone via BT or Android Auto. Other sounds like music and everything work fine. Everything works fine in fact, except any audio associated with the phone.
Visual Voicemail, won't play through the car, only the phone speaker...
I reboot the phone and car again, same problem.
I delete the BT connection in the car and the phone and re-pair, same problem...
I am gonna go to a friend's house to try his phone, but has anyone ever heard of this? It was literally working fine for a week up to today, I didn't shut the car off between calls... It was working, I hung up on the call, tried to make another one a few minutes later and now nothing works...

Note 2 GT N7100 Mic Problem

Hey everyone. My note 2 gas given me many troubles, first the chip EMMC failed. I created a thread explaining the situation. Bootloop, recovery failed, etc. So I bought a phone that had a broken screen. I replaced the motherboard and everything was going fine but cellular signal was failing, I gave it back to the owner. (I also created a thread about it).
Now, I bought another phone with the broken screen. So I replaced the motherboard one more time. Everything works ok, cellular signal, wifi, camera (both front and back camera), wifi, speakers, etc. But I have a trouble with the microphone. When I'm on a phone call I can hear people but people can't hear me, unless I use the speaker then they can hear me. I suppose that the mic from the top of the phone is the one that is working when the speaker is turned on.
I've done some reading, and there are many solutions, cleaning the mic, factory reset, installing other ROM,etc. The mic isn't the problem. I tried the mic of my note 2 and the other mic too. The problem is present with both mics. (Both phones are the same variant by the way, GT N7100 international version).
The phone is on 4.1.2 Jellybean, I'm thinking on update to 4.3 first via Odin, if problem is still not solve then upgrade to 4.4 kit Kat via Odin as well. If problem persist, then flash a recovery via Odin and then install a custom ROM 5.1.1 and if the mic problem still not solved then flash a 6.0.1 custom ROM.
I don't know what else I should do concerning this issue. Any advices? Or solutions? Has anyone had this very same issue?
The mic doesn't work at all, I tried video recording and the only mic that works is the top one, not the bottom one. Voice recording doesn't work as well. Headphones does work. If I unplugged the headphones while having a phonecall the bottom mic still isn't working.
Hope you could give any advice or solutions! Thanks in advance.
Sorry for my English skills.
Did you try moving the swapping out the USB fix cable between both phones?
I doubt that it's a software problem because I have not come across a situation where a mic does not work on a particular stock rom.

Yes I did. Problem still there. I also did a factory reset. I'm thinking that at least one of those mics are working OK. I mean, it would be really really bad luck having the 2 microphone malfunctioning. My microphone was working fine before the EMMC chip crashed. After I replaced with other motherboard with no cellular signal it was working fine as well. This motherboard tho everything is working fine but both microphones.
Yes, that is weird. Maybe you need a new mic? That might be the cheapest solution.
