I installed Arco's 9 Rc3 Rom a few months ago and have been having a problem with the 3G data since I encrypted it. I'm planning on wiping the device and re installing Rc3. Do I need to do anything differently because the device has been encrypted?

Hello, I could use some help with my Desire.
A few months ago I rooted my HTC Desire (Bravo, EU version) with Unrevoked3 and then tried a couple ROMS, like CM6 and MIUI. The installations all went fine without any problems and the ROMS worked as advertised.
I decided to go back to the stock 2.2 because of some app compatibility issues, using the backup I made from the recovery tool and have stayed with it since.
Now, whenever I try to install a newer ROM, like Aurora v04 or PyramidMod007, the installation never works, even though I always wipe/factory reset/wipe Dalvik cache before installing. The post-installation booting always freezes on the HTC logo screen for more than 20 minutes and I'm forced to remove the battery and restore my backup image.
The only ROM that I've tried and works is the latest MIUI.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Are you wiping?
Are you downloading versions that fit in the stock hboot, NOT cm7 hboot?
Are you following ALL the instructions/requirements in the rom threads, including required partitions on SD card?
Bought a Nexus 7 about a month ago, updated it to KitKat, rooted it and flashed the latest stable CM. No problems at all. Today I decided to try some other ROM's. Flashed one and the root access was acting funny so I flashed my CM recovery. Tried to flash Paranoid Android and can't even get that one to boot up. It's something to do with my root access, but I don't know what else to do. I've flashed different versions of SU and nothing is working. Everything is great as long as I stay on my CM backup but if I do anything involving updating SU or flashing a ROM it's screwed. Anybody got any ideas?

I haven't flashed CM in a couple years, other than mods I stay on stock roms but I'm thinking your problem has something to do with the kernel you have with CM and maybe changes to the partitions if any. Personally... I would flash the factory image without flashing the userdata.img so you don't lose your data. Then you can try PA or whatever.
After religiously backing up everything I could, I'm about ready to wipe my SGS3 and put a new custom ROM on it. The reason I need to fully wipe the SGS3 is because I require disk encryption on the SGS3, and no TWRP version was able to successfully decrypt my phone, nor Phil's; I figure I must've encrypted it using a non-supported method which allows for decryption in the ROM but not in TWRP. Also it happens my modem is still MK3 and my version of SlimKat is a little bit unstable with random reboots every few days (I hear they all are, so I'm looking at other well-optimized ROMs).
So I just want to know --- anyone successfully decrypted using custom recovery on a non-TouchWiz KitKat ROM?
ive installed the multi rom manager for the sprintm8 ..after reading up on everything..its the latest test version pose to help with hanging up when booting secondary roms..i still freeze up bout everyother time trying to boot from the manager app to secondary rom..i tried flashing updated firmware from hboot ..the updated firmware was the one updated in aug..hope that was the latest..still have issiue..i have bad boyz sense as base rom with elementalx as kernal with patch..have pacman as secondary..everytime ive attempted to make changes like the kitkat sd card fix..or install xposed framwork..ive had to wipe data and start over cause after rebooting would just go black screen..thinking i bricked it..also tried flashing liquid smooth as third rom..did fine..but no mobile data or wifi worked..im sticking to aosp roms cause ive read they all mostly work although id love to have another sence based rom as well..but the ones i tried never booted..read how its possible to alter the zip then repack..but sounds to advanced for me..question is do i need to flash anotherr kernal in my aosp roms to get it all working..i know the base rom gets the elementalx kernal with patch....but do i need another kernal for other roms to get everything working..and why am i freezeing dureing booting up from multirom manager into the aosp secondary roms?
Last weekend, I decided to flash a new ROM since the one I have been using is no longer being developed. I flashed a LineageOS nightly build because I used to like Cyanogenmod and heard Lineage is a continuation. I do like the ROM overall, but for some reason it encrypted my phone during install. I did not want it to do this, it just did it without asking me (when I first got my phone, I remember I was having problems with it being encrypted, with my recovery and such).
Is there any way to reinstall LineageOS without it encrypting the phone? If not, how do I decrypt the phone again and get back to basically stock + root? I downloaded the most up-to-date stock 7.1.2 ROM from Google, and was going to just flash that, but it wouldn't let me in TWRP (said the zip was not valid). I also tried rolling back to an older backup (not LineageOS), but the phone never booted.
FYI - I use Linux Mint and have the latest adb/fastboot, and the latest TWRP for Nexus 5x.
Thank you if you can help.

If you want to flash stock rom you have to flash it via fastboot. The instruction is on the Google download side. But if I remember right you have to wipe everything so make a backup of important data.
If I format my "userdata" with fastboot to get rid of the encryption, do you know if it will delete my ROM backups? I think the encryption is why I'm having trouble going to another ROM from LineageOS. I REALLY wish the ROM would simply ask you before deciding to encrypt the phone. I have no reason to encrypt my phone, and I don't want it encrypted.
