I'm ready to root and flash a custom rom on this bad boy. I'd love some links.
Thanks a ton!

How would you describe the changes and advantages coming from Nexus 4 to LG Optimus G [excluding the ROMs availability factor] ?

Here is the Korean firmware. We can probably kang something useful. Don't attempt to flash. It isn't made for Sprint phones and you will turn your phone into a paper weight or an iPhone.

If you flash the F180L version you can boot and use the phone. Your radios won't work though. You will still have WiFi. Any devs who feel generous might be able to port this.

Updated the title, turns out this firmware works on our phone. It boots. WiFi is a go. Just no data or phone since it is set to the wrong frequency.

That's awesome! So JB could be here soon?

I used google translate and yes that is a jellybean update. Hope starting the new year we could have jb on our phones. Too bad that it is not the new jeallybean update 4.2
I really miss it from my Galaxy Nexus, the UI is amazing. Of course with tweaks but hopefully this one gets it as well.
Sounds like it should be fairly easy to make a fully functional flashable zip then? I'll donate

A stock JB would be nice. I was used to having the 4.2
I downgraded when I bought the Optimus. I do like this one over the Galaxy Nexus though.

Not for nothing and not to rain on your thread / contribution to the community in any way. However couldn't one use THIS and FreeGee to do the same thing?

True. The app in that thread also allows you to unroot, that coupled with freegee to lock your device...?

You don't need unroot or lock the bootloader, this is the whole point why this is interesting, for people to be able to update without having to use lgnpst. The reason u need to back up root is because when u apply the patch, you need to root, the app u linked is good too.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using Tapatalk 4
When you update you don't lose root it's a just in case precaution is all...

I would try again. I can confirm that this method does indeed work on KitKat for our (Sprint) device.
The direct link provided for the download is here. Make sure you give proper thanks to the developers listed in the aforementioned thread.
Have to have developers options USB debugging checked. Charge only, airplane mode. Make sure to check always on your phone when it connects for that connection.
