So my stock ROM 4.1.2 backup just vanishes from my external SD backup with twrp ..after I flashed AOKP nightly?!?!
Does this seem normal or some thing to do with the sdcard0 that creates itself
After I backed up the AOKP nightly and tried to restore in twrp I was automatically directed to the AOKP backup that I just made when I should have had my stock 4.1.2 which was backed up on my external SD
I can see my backup when I go to seetings /file manager in twrp but when I choose restore I'm put right to external SD folder with the AOKP backup not my stock ROM"What to do??:what:

I backed up aokp milestone 5.1.1 and wiped cache and dalvik before installing milestone 5.2. That might have been a mistake but then I flashed gapps cus I had forgot to after flashing 5.2 but then decided to wipe everything and just restore my backup of milstone 5.1 I had (I backed it up using twrp) but when I click restore, there's nothing there. No package to choose. Any help?
Thanks.
Can't restore a nAndroid from twrp. You need to reinstall the aokp first. Be sure to Unchecked "inject twrp" when doing so. Then reboot into cwm and restore your backup.
Happened to me too.

You can't restore nandroids made in clockwork mod in TWRP if you make a nandroid in twrp then you can. But cwm nandroids aren't compatible.

He said he backed up using twrp. It seems it is not finding his backup on the sd card.

I restored my CM9beta3-pre3 twrp Nandroid perfectly..............found it in the GooManager folder (obviously NOT clockworkmod / downloads folder) in the SD Card.........if you didn't create a GooManager, just keep looking, it's in there somewhere.

If I flash a rom and empty all data, then wouldn't the backups be erased too? Is there any way I could transfer the backup files from phone to pc?

Custom recoveries don't touch the "sdcard" when doing a factory reset.
In other words all you have to do is wipe all your data and flash a new ROM or whatever you want to do. Boot up and open the play store and download titanium backup and batch restore all your apps back.
Yes, but doing backups to external source is not a bad idea. Always.
You can also backup to dropbox.

can you attach screenshot of backup/Restore page of titanium backup?
and have you check size of titanium backup folder?
Sir I also had taken a backup from Cwm recovery mode however as soon as I went to paranoid the restoration process showed no files present there.

You don't have any backup on device
Have you wiped device?
I think you have lost all backup when you have factory reset
It is advisable to make backup storage on ext sd card

Go to preference and then go backup location. Then click on detect and search whole device. Once located just Click on it and it will show up on the restore menu.. If you backed up on your external memory or internal memory without formatting it during the installation then it should be there.

I currently have cm10 on 4.1.2 but I can't seem to update to 4.2 or 4.3 I tried the update in the settings and after my phone wipes everything it just goes back to the home page of TWRP. If I try to flash it manually I can't see the zip file when I'm in recovery. Am I doing something wrong?

I've tried moving it around internal and external into different folders. Its weird it really doesn't want me to flash it. But why cant I even do it through too manager? It does the same thing where it goes to the main TWRP screen

Easiest way.
1. Make a backup of your Internal memory.
2. Update to latest recovery.
3. Copy cm and gapps into the root of your external sd.
4. Wipe data, system, internal(yes that's why the backup).
5. Search for cm and gapps. Flash it.
6. Copy all to internal again.
7. Enjoy.

Also if you have TWRP forget about ROM Manager app. It only works(when that pos does) with CWM.

I figured it out guys. My phone was a hard brick before so my boot loader is old. I had to reflash the MD4 bootloads and flashed from there

Hey, I just flashed AOSP KitKat but when I boot into twrp, my backups are gone. When I boot into the rom, they're there when I check my file browser. I had a backup backed up to my laptop and just put it in the root of my storage. Can I just flash it like I would a custom rom through the "Install" menu? Or will that mess something up?

Never mind, got em back. Just flashed back to Optimus and decided to wait for a stable kitkat rom
