Has anyone got an MHL cable for this yet? Can I get any or do I have to pay £10 and wait 3 weeks for the only one available that says it is for the ONE?
Don't want to pay £30 for the official one.

I have a MHL adapter I bought for my old HTC Sensation. The adapter worked great on the Sensation, I'll try it out this weekend with the HTC One and report back.
Thanks. I've read that the ONE uses 5 pin MHL just like the GS2 so I have ordered one of eBay. I guess I will see.
Chris.

Yes, 5-pin, tested with mine.
The original mhl sgs2 works fine with one.
However, there was a thread mentioning hdmi version support such as 60fps if you're to buy a new one.
Btw, the old mhl adapter even supports 3d sbs streaming if interested..

I just bought one for that price on eBay....I guess it isn't you though as you said you already sold it. It might take a few days as the seller is using 2nd class. I would have paid a few quid more to bump that up, but looking forward to receiving it
send me a pm if you are selling and willing to send
I'll take one for £70 and pay for shipping.

Whoever has it, can you do a quick review.
There are several questions floating around such as
1) Does it need to be permanently plugged in
2) How quick does the stream buffer
3) Any input lag for gaming
Any info would be good. I get my soon (hopefully) via a P4U preorder, so will review once I have it.

I bought one off eBay from someone who didn't want their P4U one. I contacted them and said I would pay extra for it to be special delivery so that I would get it before the bank holiday weekend. So I should have it tomorrow, and will give a report on things like lag etc shortly.
Does it run on batteries? If yes how long can one lasts?

Ok, just got home and their is a delivery card for a parcel so could be this...... Am working from home tomorrow so will report back
The device is powered by micro USB. Have to use supplied mains charger though as doesn't seem to want to rake power from tv USB port.
Seems to link up ok.
Playing netflix works quite well, voices in sync etc. Playing videos that have been recorded by the phone are a complete disaster though. No sound sync video plays fast and slow sometimes no sound. The rest of the functions seem to work as expected though.

I've had one enquiry regarding the one I'm selling. Got it listed at £75+P&P on eBay atm. If anyone's interested, let me know! Would rather not go through eBay as they'll want a cut! UK Verified on Paypal.

Any one know if there's a cheaper one available and confirmed working?
There are cheapo ones that say "galaxy s3, s3, htc evo, etc" compatible, but i dont think a lot of sellers realize its a different pin connection.
has anyone been able to purchase one that works?
the genuine samsung one is too expensive.

Same!
You can use a cheapo adapter with Samsung's adapter kit.
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Samsung-OEM-...Accessories&hash=item2572f37fc3#ht_1660wt_889
Free shipping to the US. $26 shipping to Canada (which is why I haven't purchased it yet)
Yeah I think I may just use the MHL adapter from the GS2 and the 5-pin to 11-pin adapter tip both from samsung. At least they're both OEM and I don't really feel like waiting.
MHL: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006FYXL2O/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&smid=A2AXKMC4UVT4QQ
Adapter Tip: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0083FYL0O/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&smid=A1FBR7E8HT21EQ
Total is only $22.65. Just over half the price of the GS3 adapter.
The adapter tip you guys are referring to is usb to micro hdmi right? So you need the adapter tip plus micro hdmi to hdmi cable. The latter can be picked up for 4 bucks from ebay.

No, the MHL adapter is a microUSB to regular HDMI adapter. However the old MHL adapters for the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S2 use a 5-pin microUSB input and you need an 11-pin microUSB input so that's what the adapter tip does.
There is a 3rd party one here for preorder

I'm pretty sure that's a Galaxy Nexus in that video. Note the on-screen soft buttons and lack of physical home button.

yup i agree, and $15 less than the original from Samsung. I am sure it works the same way.
Does a cheap MHL cable work just as well as the expensive one or is there any difference?
I bought a cheap one in focalprice some weeks ago (+-8 usd) , I will see then, but I don't own an expensive one to comapre,
I will review as I get it
Most of the time cheap is just as good

Go to Amazon and read reviews. You do get what you pay for in mhl... I have the Skiva mhl ($15). I bought one of the $5 ones first, and after HD mkv was stuttering and draining quicker than it could charge, I bought the Skiva and learned my lesson. In most cases, except simple cables like hdmi, you get what you pay for.

It might work but I bought one of the 1.99 jobs off eBay it lasted about a month before it gave up and I needed up buying an OEM one .
You get what you pay for imo.

Are you guys using the OEM samsung one or a third party one? I've been looking to get one and the Samsung one seems really overpriced. I ordered the Fosmon one but it was out of stock and the reviews for it aren't thay great so I might up ordering the OEM one.

I'm pretty sure we as Note 2 owners are locked into using Samsung's proprietary MHL adapter. We can't even use one that worked with the GS2, Galaxy Nexus, or even the Note 1 without an additional adapter. The GS3 and the Note 2 have a special pin layout that requires their newest and most expensive MHL adapter. Amazon has one for 34 bucks and I've been hesitant to jump on it because I don't know how much I'll really use it.
i just bought one samsung mhl to hdmi of ebay and it dint work on my note 2 only on the galaxy s3

I am using an 11 pin wire I bought off of amazon for 15 bucks. Its an all in one soulution. It has a micro usb head for the phone, full size usb to plug into your tv or power block and an hdmi. Works well. Ive had no problems.

It should be here tomorrow. Wish i would have seen that red one. Does the same job for half the price. Oh well i guess.
I ended up getting the official Samsung MHL adapter from best buy online because I had some rewards zone credits. paid nothing for it. Unfortunately, it turned out that it was the older generation adapter and doesn't work with my note 2. Ordered the 5pin to 11pin adapter from samsung using the 50% off coupon and paid 5 bucks (plus 4 bucks shipping sadly) This combination works perfectly. a bit clunky with the additional piece but cost me 9 bucks total, can't complain. Works perfectly even using the extra adapter. :good:
ps - smart dock for the note 2 is also avaliable on amazon atm
