Well for an ruu to work, bootloader must be locked, try using theq86 bl controller tool to lock it, check the development section.

Check this tutorial, and then you can flash any ruu you want.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540952
That's exactly how i want to upgrade my hboot 1.08.0099 to hboot 1.09.0099. The problem is that i can't find the boot.img and the system.img for the hboot1.09.0099. Thats my problem from the begining. So the botom of the line is i just need those two files.

even when i restore my backup of my stock rom i got with my htc one x, it gets stuck at the htc logo screen
does anybody know how to fix this?
thanks in advance,
David
i think you will need a hboot update first. after this, you can flash the new version.

Instructions are given on the post to flash new hboot.
Also ARHD 17.1 is itself a version. You can find the download link on its thread under 'Htc one x android development' forum.

i'm gonna update my hboot and il update you guys on the status after
Hi Guys!
I had CM10 on my One X. Something like 1 month ago I updated my ROM through OTA updates, after that I had some casual reboots, but not so annoying...
2 days ago, I updated once again and after that, my phone was very very very instable!! Everytimes I tryed to open an app, it rebooted; so I wasn't able to do a backup through Titanium Backup, neither.
So i decided to try with the Australia MIUI one, and it didn't start...
I tryed Renovated, same end.
I tryed the stock one...it works...
I tryed Orio7...no success...what can i try?? (ofc i flashed the right boot.img each time before install rom...also i tryed to flash it after as well...)
Thanks
Try insert coin or ice cold jelly ( AOKP based) and flash the correct boot.img!

Reboot to the bootloader by holding volume down and the power button. It will say which hboot you have on there. Also, like enigmaticxeal said, make sure you flash the correct boot.img each time you flash a different rom.
yes,cm10 is based on jb,but doesn't need jb hboot
restart your phone and hold power+vol down for seconds and you will enter fastboot, there you can find your hboot version
I updated to stock jb Rom via ota as well and can no longet install any cm Rom. Flashed the correct boot and even tried with the modded boot for jb hboot and even tried repacking the modded one with the stock cm boot. Nothing I do is getting cm on there I'm on hboot 1.36.

so I think i have 0.43 possible???
that is why you cant install JB sense roms.
JB sense roms needs hboot 1.31 or higher.
You need to update your hboot depending upon your cid.. Then you will be able to flash any sense roms you want.
Do a lil search regarding the hboot and cid, You will get the idea.
yep yep...That sounds like I didn't search, but the truth is that I watched for my CID and phone said "HTC_405"...I though that means I got 1.39, but most probably that was a list of devices COMPATIBLE FOR UPGRADE TO 1.39...
sorry guys I think I can go ahead alone keep this 3ad open if I ll fall in a mistake
I tryed to update Hboot...but im stuck here: FAILED (remote: 44 hboot version check fail)

Try using this tool. It will do everything for you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1924003

Your cid has nothing to do with the hboot, main software and hboots are related. Cid is more a region code .....
For example if your phone is on ics 4.04 2.17 based software your hboot should be 1.12
and the the 4.0.3 software corresponds with hboots 0.95 and/or 0.96
Hope this clears it up.
Basically you can not determine on which hboot the phone is with the cid number

Do a nandroid backup from recovery, then:
fastboot oem lock
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip recovery.zip
That should be enough, combined with a search, for you to figure it out.

Hi
I got a "naked" One X from a friend. Specs:
Code:
HBOOT-1.36.0000
CID: VODAP102
RADIO-5.1204.164D.30
Ver. 3.14.401.31
I already unlocked the phone and installed TWRP.
I tried to install several ROMs, but everyone got stuck at the "htc quietly brilliant" point. Any idea how to fix that? I read about 5 tutorials and have no idea, what to do

Did you flash the correct boot.img for the rom/s?
Of course, I also erased the cache after flashing (ect).
How did you update the hboot official or with the firmware flash ?

Firmware flash via CWM.
Flash the firmware all over again. And check of there is a newer one out that matches your CID ....

Even though we have the same processor and stuff im not sure how rom compatability works between the two phones. AFAIK the kernels aren't built EXACTLY for the vivow_ct even though we use the same source (maybe idk what im talking about someone verify me)
anyways make sure you're running the correct hboot and proper recovery.
If you do have a custom recovery, try booting into it or go into the bootloader (press vol down and power) and go back to stock from an ruu
Are you S-on or S-off? What ROM were you trying to load? More info is needed than what you gave. The more info the more helpful we could be
