As the title says, I still have the screen rotation bug even on the newest firmware (dmc3). Just wondering if anyone still have it? Remember there was a big thread on it a couple of months back but can't seem to find it, even after searching Google and going through page after page here. Never had the problem before the recent updates and it's getting quite annoying. Only thing that solves it is a restart but it's just a temporary fix.
To sum up, does anyone still have the screen rotation bug and does anyone know of a fix? It would be MUCH appreciated

was very excited to get the update but after updating.....
is anyone else having the issue of the screen shutting off when you open up the browser? I did a search on this forum and can't find anyone who has posted about this issue.
I'm running stock ek02. basically, everytime I open up the stock browser the screen goes completely black. push the power button, unlock, happens again.... this has never happened before the update.
currently using opera as an alternative.

Yes I had this happen this morning. I recieved the EK02 update last week 12/9 in the early AM and this is the first time I encountered this screen blanking bug. It's only happened once but required a reboot to fix the problem. I just tried launching the stock browser again and this bug did not happen this time. I will monitor and update this thread if it happens again.
Happened to me too, amongst other issues since the update. I took the phone in to Best Buy and I'm getting a refurbed one, which sucks and is another story.
so after it happened for the first few reboots immediately after updating, it hasn't happened again.
I feel like a lucky man.
I wonder what was the cause?
Doesn't seem like this has happened to many people so I'll make a special point to keep you two updated on any developments on my end.

Thanks for the suggestion; thats a good tip. I tried clearing out the cache and the data- no dice.
I think its a bug that is triggered by the screen brightness setting. if you set your screen brightness setting under system to the lowest setting, go into browser, turn on manual brightness, slide that all the way down, it seems to happen more.
I've moved on to playing with some custom roms though so someone will have to try that out and see?

Not noticed that myself but I have been using Chrome.
i have noticed that on a couple of times, don't know why but it has gone away. but it's strange
To me it looks like either the LCD is damaged or the LCD connector has a problem with it. Return it for a new one

Someone above said this is hardware, but i doubt this, because this glitch is only on the drop down menu, it is not random but outlined. A screen problem would cause this at any place on the screen.
What do you guys think of this?
Seems to be a Tegra3/ICS issue. The Transformer Prime had similar problems for months.
is this the screen glitch u guys are talking about or is it another screen glitch type?
if it is the former, i have not had it yet in the 4 days i have the phone..
try to use a different browser like dolphin or chrome or whatever

I had the same problem when I used the stock 'internet' browser. The problem disappears once u switch to opera or chrome

I was half tempted to get the One x because I thought they learned from the Sensation but guess not. This is the real problem of having your own skin, you break a perfectly good OS.

Try it with other browser. I believe it is the screen defect. Mine doesn't hv those glitches issues mentioned in the forum nor the yellow tint problem

Same here. I also haven't this problem also not in the standard browser.

Saw it on my phone yesterday for like 3-4 seconds...i was using whatsapp that time...so i dont think its only related with the browser...

Same thing happened when I was on ARHD 1.2.0 in Netflix. See attachment.
I also get this screen problem. It is software/firmware corruption, and not a hardware fault as far as I can tell.
It happens at random in the stock browser, or at least appears random - I haven't found a link to any website or user action yet.
It does seem it might be related to anything involving animated menus with gradient colour or transparency - that's just a passing observation though.
I still use the stock browser due to quick controls. But with 4.2 if I enable them it seems to leave a blank spot where the address bar is. This happens with or out without full screen enabled. Weird thing is when first enabled it's fine, but when loading a new page it's not.
Can anyone help me confirm this is happening for them as well?

Hey there, just want to consult something to you guys. For the past few days I am experiencing a bug in screen rotation. Seems like the phone cannot detect the accelerometer and it doesn't rotate the screen/app accordingly. I also tried Rotation Locker set to auto but it only rotates when I lock/unlock the phone. Apparently the issue can be fixed by restarting the phone but it goes back again. BTW, phone is stock unrooted MB2. I experienced this after MB2. Anyone having the same symptoms?

Also started experiencing this rotation bug with DMB2. I thought it was just because I was pushing the system to the edge.
The "smart rotation" comment above does not work. Only a restart does the trick.
This is so annoying. First, the battery issues. Now this?! Come on, Samsung. Don't kill my love for the Note 2 with your stupid updates.
Mine does the same and I have exhanged one unit because of it and still happens its weird wished samsung would fix it. Only seems to happen when I watch a video for long period of times. Dont have smart rotation enabled either its a strange one.
Ive noticed that when my screen goes off and I hit the home button to wake it back up sometimes when it turns back on it shows me the recent apps list as if I held the home button down. Only started happening since latest update. Confirmed happening on stock and frosty jelly bean latest build.. has anyone else noticed this? Btw I have pattern lock as lock screen

Yep - and if you disable the lockscreen it happens pretty much every time. How the home button is handled changed from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2, which is where the issue stems from I believe. It takes a little smali hacking to fix it (though to be fair I would consider the fix that I am trying as being in testing still).
Can you share how to resolve this issue. I don't think T-Mobile has fixed the issue and it is driving me nuts. I don't want a lock screen so that is not a good solution for me. I also prefer not to root at this point.

It requires root unfortunately... though I suppose I could try to throw it into an ODINable tar similar to the prerooted tar thats out there...
