How good or bad is the official flip cover case??
I need to cover the whole surface, what would be best?

My opinion UAG is best next best if you have lower budget go for Cruzerlite stay sway from HTC official double dip case it's look good only, big risk if you drop your phone and it's very loose and Mic hole cutout is not precise

I ordered one made by Poetic. Fit is good., and I'm glad I have some form of protection when it's in my pocket.

I agree that official HTC One double dip flip case doesn't provide a lot of protection against dropping the phone , however with regard to your point about imprecise Mic cutouts, this was true about the first version but I was recently contacted by HTC accessories uk, they advised of a replacement version that was sent to me free , the second version has larger cutouts for microphones.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I either got lucky or have the updated model of the Flip case because my microphone ports are uncovered and work fine. The case is a bit loose at the corners, but not so much that it falls out.
I think it offers adequate protection against drops, unless you somehow manage to drop it face-first with the cover open. It protects all sides and edges when the flap is closed.
I also prefer this flip case to other normal cases because I have been able to use it as a "smart cover". I have the proximity sensor set up so that when I open the case, the phone turns on and unlocks, and when I close the case, the phone turns off. Reaction time is less than a second, and has added benefits (not having to worry about the small power button, saves battery by immediately turning off when you're done with it, etc). Plus, hey, it's a kickstand, and unlike other kickstands, you can adjust the angle.
I live my double dip case covers speakers, good feedback on buttons and is relatively slim

This is what I use: http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/crystal-clear-case-for-htc-one-clear-p38944.htm I find no problems with scratching even though there's no cover over the screen.
However my friend says this cover is great if you definitely want a cover:

is there any custom case-mate owners out there? I am asking because i order one and this is just poorly design or they send me the wrong casing some how....
My case those not fit very well on my vibrant. Also the camera holes, screen look button, and volume buttons are not aligned and are not fitted ether. The hole for the volume and lock buttons are huge and does not look right. Also the top does not cover around the headphone jack and usb port leaving it exposed and it looks like ****.
Can any body confirm yours is the same way? a pic of it maybe?
YIA!
I just got mine today. The only thing that has put me off is the camera hole. It's not exactly center. The holes for the volume and power are purposely bigger to make them easier to press. As for the top were it doesnt cover the ports, the barely there case are like that, so it is as advertised.
I can show you pictures, but the only camera I'm not too lazy to use is my vibrants. So the pictures will be of the case off the phone.
I own three. Same thing camera hole isn't centered but everything else is the same as a regular barely there. Minus the camera hole I love it picture quality is great.

Correct me if I am wrong but the barely there case fits over the original back case right?
I order there custom vibrant case and I have to remove the back cover for it to fit... I think it suppose to be that way... but for 35 dollars and not to be align and fit well I think 35.00 dollars its a damn rip off. I open a support case with them and they are claiming that the case is fine and they need more proof so I am making them a stupid video.
Thank You for the response guys.
Right. The barely-there case fits over the battery cover.
Ok thanks for the response.
Now I wonder if the custom cases should fit over the battery cover... Can anybody clarify this?

This is review of the full coverage tpu case.
In another thread I did state that this case is flimsy, and I wasn't really interested in it, in shenzhen when using it, it seems a good idea, but the lid did not lay flat and just kept on popping out up from the main body.
The lid has about 4-5 notches that are held down with groves at the rim of the main body.
the lid also has a piece of clear plastic, similar to the materials used for id holders, but not as flexible.
the lid is a anti-glare type with fine specks of glitter, in china and hong kong we call this diamond coat.
the front camera and two sensor on the lid is not covered with glitter, but is made clear through the plastic, but not cutout.
May be the version that I have tested out in hong kong was a better quality one and not the sample that was tested in china, and the lid did seem to fit right into the body without the lid trying to force itself out and it fit rather well.
The case itself has cut out for the two speakers, home button, two mic's, headset socket and the USB socket.
The volume and power button are covered.
The back of the case is glossy finished, whiles the rest of the case is matt, soft/fine grainy finished( not like the rock case reviewed in this forum).
It probably look better if the whole case was the matt finished and not glossy.
Now, many member might want to know if the touch features can be used with the lid on, well after using it today the touch sensitvity is very responsive, the clear plasic is about 0.3mm-0.4mm thick, my phone also had another clear Protector on it was supplied with my nillkin case that I bought last month.
Just purchased this in hong kong for HKD 30, the shop put the wrong price, should of been HKD 50 like the rest of the colours, the price was covered with a tag stating a new item, i just took the tag off to find the price sticker for HKD 30.
so far I have seen this i 3 packaging, this will also reflect the price.
plain plastic bag
paper box with front see through.
The one I have with photo's below includes a free protector.
updated with actual photo's.
So did the ones you ordered stay closed properly? I see in one of the side shots that the front wasn't closed all the way.

yes it does, it's like an anti glare with specks of fine glitter.
and after further testing it's best to have the screen protector removed( the sticky one).
I find it very unusual that the screen is very responsive due to the thickness of the lid and the home key is little bit lower than the protector lid which does prevent acidental pressing.

At first I didn't really like it, and the fitting was all out, may be it was a sample, but I did make a purchase of one from a local shop, and it did fit pretty well, the case isn't that thick either. The only bad thing is, if you don't like anti glare screen, this is out.
Bought this case from eBay for 6.99 shipped. Fast delivery and great seller. It has a slide out kickstand that can be used for landscape or portrait viewing. The kickstand also doubles as a good grip for the phone. You slide your ring and middle fingers into the kickstand and u can reach entire front of screen without worry of dropping it. Cutouts for buttons and ports are good. All in all a great case for $7!

I have one of these on the way, pretty excited about it. One question though, does it lay flat on a surface on its back? I have the boxwave TPU case with a kickstand and they left the hinge popping out the back which really disappointed me.
I have this case as well. Very impressed with it. The phone does lay flat with the kickstand folded.
I ordered the original nillikin one in white, I was bangin my head for kickstand case and I decided to get this one..can't wait
I think we should merge it with the kickstand case thread, as this is also discussed there
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1730833
Still using this case. I seem to use the kickstand everyday almost always. You don't realize how much you would use one until you have one. Still clips nice and no noticeable ware on clips that hold the kickstand.

Do you Talk about the flip case or hardshell?
I had this microphone Problem with the flip case and solved it by making the hole for the microphone on the case bigger.
Not just me then, yes I refer to the flip case. Not the sort of quality you expect from a 'premium' official case. If I wasn't amazingly impressed with the phone I'd be letting rip at HTC!
Its a shame the screen wouldn't come on as you flip the case over though!
The flip case is okay, poor quality though.
I also got the official flip case for free with my phone. I was really disappointed with it. OK I got it for free but seriously HTC... Couldn't they make a decent official case for their incredibly beautiful save the company flagship phone. They should have used proper leather and included some magnets to keep it closed and wake the screen when opened like Samsung do with their case.

i have the double dip hard shell case on fine and find the fit is quite loose on the phone, the other thing that really bugs me is that the volume buttons dont work correctly. i have found that there is very little tactile feedback and that you then tend to press the buttons harder which then causes the area of the case around the buttons to miss shape..very poor which is a shame as i actually really like the overall look etc of it.
Anyone else found this or could i just have a bad case?

My mate called me on his the other day, I kept telling him I couldnt hear him.
It turned out to be the HTC official flip case hole, as per other posts on here!
Luckily mine was free, but he paid £24 for it!! It's going back....
Personally if you look the hole on the outside is ok, but it tapers inwards and is like the tip of a needle inside, you could easily make it larger with a paperclip or jewellers screwdriver.
Although for £24, you shouldnt have to.

Hi. If you have case even leather with do cover you can use the app hovering controls. It does not work smoothly but simulates what the shell is supposed to do.
A bit annoying is that many times of you keep your hand hovering it will lock your phone disturbing what you are doing.

I'll jump in here and say that I've had several Ringke cases and they've all been great. They are one of my favorite case manufacturers, and they're fairly inexpensive.

My ringke slim case came in
Case looks nice doesn't feel or look cheap.
Doesn't add bulk but does make the phone little slippery in the hand
Like how it came with a screen protector and when installed don't add any glare or interfere with the quality of the screen.
And has table lay so if you lay it on the table it won't be touching the screen
And cutoff for the power button and volume button still are easy to press and don't not interfere.
Overall 9/10

There is already quite some choices and availability for Moto G cases, but none of those I can find on the Internet cover the two weak points of a phone, especially this one: the side buttons AND the screen.
The Ringke look like they are the most reliable cases, so are some rubber cases that wrap the phone in the bumper with cutouts for the Volume and Power/lock buttons but... it doesn't protect the screen as much as the flip shell does but the flip shell leaves the definitely flimsy buttons unprotected.
Isn't a case that cover both weaknesses common for other older models ?
