HTC One XDA Case Review - One (M7) Accessories

15% off coupon code: GadgetGuruHD
Cruzerlite Website: http://www.cruzerlite.com/cases/htc/one/htc-one-xda-molded
The XDA case by Cruzerlite is very similar to the rest of their cases. It is practically a Bugdroid Circuit, Androidified A2, or Clone Army Case except for the fact that it has no Cruzerlite branding and has an XDA Developers logo on the back. It has a lip over the top protecting from drops where the One falls face first and includes cut outs for all the ports.
Like the rest of Cruzerlite's cases, it is extremely thin and won't show signs of wear and tear. The case is available in black, green, and smoke. It costs $14, but you can use the coupon code GadgetGuruHD to take 15% off. If you have any questions I would be happy to help. :good:

not a bad coupon code... still think it's on the expensive side of TPU cases... but i'll have to consider this... Between the atmosphere still

I'll probably be picking up the Atmosphere. I also think $14 isn't bad for a TPU considering most are planning on using the HTC One for at least a year.

Plastic Case Review

So I just got another new case.
I got it from eBay seller augustonline for $3.89 w/ free shipping.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Black-Rubber-Ha...000-GALAXY-S-/150475142893?pt=PDA_Accessories
This is similar to the mesh snap-on case that others have posted about. It's a single piece that snaps on to the back of the phone. The material is hard plastic but it has a bit of a rubberized feel which provides just a little grip.
The fit is perfect. And, unlike the mesh case, it does not have the awkward cutout for the TV antenna that the Korean cases have.
As others have pointed out with this type of case, it does not provide full protection for all sides. I was also concerned about this, but found that it wraps around the edges just enough to protect the face of the phone. So, if you place it face-down the phone doesn't touch. Also, the corners are protected but the top and bottom are exposed.
It's a solid color with no branding so if you really like the Galaxy S logo, you won't be able to see it with this case.
All in all, this is a nice case and if you like this type of case, I would definitely recommend it. It fits well, has a nice clean look to it, and is less than $5. I think this will be my daily driver for a while (or until some positive reviews of the SGP Slider case start coming in).
Sweet as I was wondering whether the fit would be good or not, so thats good news
Can't wait for my orange one to get here!
Cool good to know it fits perfectly i ordered a green one of these almost two weeks ago i should be receiving it any day now
The case isn't bad for $4 (or the $8 I paid from a US seller), but don't expect it to hold up for very long. The rubberized texture is wearing off after less than a week.

I was just thinking about updating this post when I saw your reply. I noticed this morning that the rubberized coating is coming off on the corners of the case. It's not very noticeable at the moment, but I imagine it will start to peel off everywhere in the not so distant future.
For me the case is temporary until SGP gets their stuff together, but I don't think I would recommend this case to anyone that is looking for long-term protection.
that looks pretty gnarly. I have the snap on two piece case from T-Mobile. With the chrome bezel and rubbery back. Once I get bored of it I'll have to try that one.

Love this case so far. Especially with my custom logo! =D
There is no player on the warriors with the number 89. That's just the number I like personally.
I don't think this can be compared to mesh case. The quality of the korean mesh case is awesome. That is why it is like 20 bucks.

Help finding a worthy case!!

My wife has the Case-mate tough case for her Inspire 4G and I love that case. Unfortunately, they don't make cases for the Atrix yet. Any one have any ideas on a similar 2 piece rubber interior with the hard shell? I really like the design and protection it offers. Thx in advance!
Get the Otter Defender Case. I have dropped my phone plenty of times and there is no sign of damage to my Atrix.
Otterbox Commuter
it has silicone (rubber-style) inside with a hard shell cover outside. Minimal size with maximum protection.

Agreed I love my Commuter, and it matches what the op asked for better than the defender.
Defender - Hard plastic inside/ soft rubber out
Commuter - Soft rubber inside/ Hard plastic out
Try the $5 hard case from Amazon
I have tried 4-5 different cases ranging from $3 to $30 and I ended up with the $3 hardcase:
(1) $4 Silicon case: it got a little loose after a few days. Would come out of the sleeve if yo drag it too fast from the pocket. I still have 4 of different color at home.
(2) $25 feather case: it is a one piece design, basically protects the batter cover but not much on the front. Returned it.
(3) Otto case: Way to bulky! The whole idea to get an Atrix is for its sleekness!
(4) $3 hardcase (black) from Amazon: I love it the best. It does not add too much to the phone (1mm) and it fits very tight! It gives enough protection on the front (the edge on the front raises about 1mm). The only caution is that once it is installed, it is very hard to remove it. You can remove it by plying open the snaps on the four corners using a flathead screw driver, but woul probably destroy the case.
Thanks for the replies guys, I do like the Commuter! Probably gonna order one off Ebay this weekend! I don't like the the hard cases, but I've seen them allow dirt inside and end up scratching the plastics on the backs of phones.

have the speck case droped it one time phone poped out of the case and got scratched up do not recommend it go otter box
Well I have to vote for the spek case. I dropped my case and it cracked the case but phone was ok and stayed inside the case. I went and got another one, I find the otter box a bit bulky.
Both cases are very good IMHO
+1 for speck case, great size to protection ratio!

Official Moto Ruggedized replacement battery cover at cnn.cn. In stock and shipping. Some good discussion on this as well as a youtube review can be found on here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020143
I've had it for a week and very happy due to the minimalistic design.
get either an seidio innocase or get an incipio feather case, those 2 are my personal favorites.
the innocase has a nice pad inside so it won't scratch the phones battery cover, while keeping it as small as possible.
the feather case is for the minimalist look, least amount of space consumption and the best for docks so you won't have to pull it out...but its a little fragile, it will protect for falls since it adds a little gap to the front but most likely the fall will take the hit and crack the case.
if you're looking for something similar to the case-mate cases, go for the sidio.
Incipio

I highly recommend one of the glossy black TPU cases you can find off Amazon: $8.50 before tax.
Check these ones out. I'm currently using the plain black and it is very nice.

HTC One (M7)(2013) Poetic Borderline Bumper Case Review

Poetic became a popular case manufacturer after it released its line of cases for the Google Nexus 4. With the release of the HTC One, Poetic has come back with several new cases. Today, we reviewed their bumper case, the Poetic Borderline. Although we felt it was a bit flimsy, as far as bumper cases go, it was simply average. While the materials were of fairly good quality, the case doesn't adequately protect the back of the HTC One. Don't let the fact that the power button is covered turn you away from this case. Poetic will be sending out an updated version for free to everyone who purchased this version. Even though it is only $9.95 on Amazon, we can't recommend this bumper to anyone who is looking for a case that protects the back of their phone. Otherwise, it is a decent, low cost bumper case.

This case+a back skin would at least protect the back from scratches and give s little drop protection, yes? Would the bumper cause back skins to push up around the edges? How much width does it add to the phone? More or less than a TPU case?

Yes, as I mentioned in the review, if you install a skin on the back, it will be protected from scratches. As long as the skins are seated proper, this case won't push them up. I attached a picture comparing it to the Diztronic TPU case.

had my bad experience with nexus 4 bumper, started to peel off the rubber from the plastic. This will be the same thing again, I even bought 3 because I thought I got a defective item, If I buy a bumper for my htc one, it wont be from poetic.

Poetic claims they updated the build, but only time will tell. I'm not sure if the warranty is valid in PR, but in the US they'll send you a new bumper for free.

Seidio Cases Now Available for Nexus 5

I began using a Seidio Surface case on my GS3 and I LOVED it. Phone has survived many drops from lap while getting out of my somewhat raised truck, and quite a few from pants pocket level while standing. Never had a cracked screen, even on corner drops. Love the soft grip, thinness of the case, and that it doesn't grab onto pocket fabric when you're trying to get it out.
Ordered my Nexus 5 on day one. Got a cheapo case just out of paranoia because Seidio didn't have the Surface out yet. Hate it. HATE IT. Been checking the Seidio site everyday for the release. Checked last night when I got home from work....and saw that they are now shipping.
Black is the only color currently shipping. I've got my order in. Obviously I haven't received it yet.
There's a 15% off coupon code you can use through 12/06/2013: SURFACE15
I figured there are others out there that want this case, so I thought I'd post.

Getting the Dilex, I think used to be called the ACTIVE accessories because they can accommodate more sizes of cases. The SURFACE15 only works for surface items (Duh), but I found a twitter discount code for 10% off anything - TW10. I am only buying the Dilex holster at this point.

All I know about the differences is from the descriptions on their website. I like using the thinnest cases possible...hate bulk. So for me, since the Surface is thinner, that's what I'm going with, since I know the Surface provides adequate protection for all my needs.
Here are the descriptions from Seidio's website:
Our SURFACE™ case is thin and sleek, perfect for those who want to shield their device from everyday wear. Depending on the device's size and dimensions, the case either snaps or slides together. Precision cut-outs allow access to all ports and controls, and the case is finished with our signature soft-touch coating that doesn't attract lint and slides easily in and out of your pocket or purse.
Designed for those with an on-the-go lifestyle, our DILEX™ case provides great shock and impact absorption. With two layers, our DILEX™ case is slightly thicker than our SURFACE™ case. The DILEX™ Skin, the first layer, is a highly durable polymer that covers vital ports and controls. The second layer, which is the DILEX™ Skeleton, fits over the DILEX™ Skin and provides extra protection at impact points such as corners and sides.

Looks like it retains the shape of the device, but adds some thickness like the neo hybrid. Worth considering.

Yes the Dilex or I am used to calling it the ACTIVE cases, which are thicker because there is a top piece, usually plastic that covers a portion of the softer case, thus making it thicker. Great protection and one of the better cases for drop protection IMO. However, I have just been using the Dilex/Active holsters as a belt holster in combination of various tpu cases.

How do the Dilex and Surface stand up to lint? i love soft-touch but silicone is a lint trap, and I absolutely HATE the look of lint and the time it takes to get the lint off.

The Dilex/Active uses the same material, they just add pieces for added protection. As for lint, no issue at all. And I have very linty pockets lol.
Did anyone receive the Surface yet? I really want see how it looks before I buy it.
thanks!
Seidio is great. I'll wait till they hit amazon though for better pricing.

Love Seidio cases, been using for years.
No lint problem whatsoever with the Active now the Dilex.
I used an Active case for my Galaxy Nexus and it was great.
I wouldn't mind getting another but need to know if the wireless charging will work through the case. They only say NFC works through the cases and nothing and wireless charging.
Time will tell tho when people here start getting their cases in.
I was just going to report this myself and they are now showing at amazon although only the black can be ordered, same as the manufacturer website. I had one of the surface cases on my N1 and my wife had it on the sgs at the same time. On the N1 the case worked well and the phone did survive a few drops undamaged. It worked less well on the sgs. As some of you might recall that phone was flimsy and the two piece nature of the surface combined with that flimsiness was a bad combo. The entire case/phone combo would move around allowing the case to abrade her phone a little bit and it simply felt bad. Exact opposite of the N1 where it felt very good and did not move or abrade the phone in any way. Mine did collect a little lint from some fabrics but nothing like some gel cases I've had. I'm guessing most would be ok with the lint factor and in reviews I've seen few complaints.
I've decided to go ahead and order the dilex version to give it a try and amazon is showing an after xmas delivery timeframe. Right now I have the ne-hybrid which is ok but not exactly confidence inspiring.

Rock Slim Elegant PU Leather Cover Case [Mini-Review]

I bought this as a replacement for my bulky Cruzerlite flip case. This is due to no card slots and the case housing the phone is much thinner than a tpu case. It's more like a hard case that are out there. I purchased the white one (don't get the white on lol) because of my dbrand white CF backing. Which looks nice in the frosted way. Would I get this? Well jury is still out when I get my Seidio Ledger in tomorrow to compare it. For a very thin case, this is very small. It even fits in my Seidio Dilex holster for the N5!
Pros:
Has a speaker opening to talk on the phone with the screen cover over the phone.
Thin profile
Frosted back to lessen the fingerprints and small scratches.
Can be used on wireless chargers.
Cons:
No cut out for a LED.
It's thin-so not much drop protection, however, better than naked without a case on.
Cover does not stay closed. Not a dealbreaker, but there should be some method of keeping the cover closed.
Would I recommend this? Well it's hard. Even though it looks nice, the leather is the typical cheapie leather and the build is very good for a 11 dollar case. But it is from China lol. Not knocking them, but they are a dime a dozen and this is just one that is passable if you are looking for a real thin cover case. Pics attached and again, feel free to ask any questions! I'll respond when available and not working .
