So do I have LTE...I went to the ATT store and they entered an IMEI of a Samsung Galaxy S5 and the 4G icon appears. I did a speedtest and it is 22mps.

Hey guys! this is my first post on here and i need some help... I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 i747 and i rooted it, and put CM10.2 on it last night, everything went on fine however i used to have 4g everywhere and 4g LTE at my office, i noticed that CM10.2 doesnt support 4g for the S3(i dont know why...), so i cleared everything again and i put SlimBean build 5 on it.. still, my data is degraded one level.
my friend has the exact same phone but on verizon and his is working perfectly fine with SlimBean 5, i did use the AT&T version for the files on my phone. my Network Mode under system network settings is set to LTE/GSM/WCDMA and my APN is set to ATT (wap.cingular).. i tried the APN of ATT LTE (pta) and nothing changed..
any help on this is greatly appreciated!

did you reboot after you changed apns? have you tested the connection with an app like speedtest.net?
What is the icon by the signal bars? 4g? H+? Have you tried flashing the latest JB modem?
I just rooted and installed CloudyG3 1.2 for my D851 and im not getting LTE anywhere. The closest i get is a 4G. Symbol in my notification bar. Is it because cloudy doesnet distinguish between 4g and lte?

Cloudy Rom is a international Rom, so it doesn't have the LTE symbol. Download speedtest from market to verify network speeds.
Also check apn to make sure correct one is picked
Actually, you can get your LTE Icon Back. Yes its an international ported rom, so the 4G means you are on LTE, and if you were on hspa+ you would see an H+
Anyways, to get your 4G LTE back in the status bar, open your favorite BUILD.PROP editing app.
oy your new look from the other 3 though
You'll find these 2 lines
ro.build.target_operator=GLOBAL"
and underneath
"ro.build.target_country=."
Change "GLOBAL" To "TMO"
and make sure you add "US" at target country
ro.build.target_operator=TMO
ro.build.target_country=US
You cn change how your LTE icons look by Replacing TMO With ATT or VZW. I think vzw might have to be done in all lowercase? not 100% sure. dont do sprint though, it will cause problems. Enjoy the other 3 though!

If you don't have a Virgin Mobile Canada SGH-i747M, using android 4.1.2, this probably doesn't apply to you.
It's mostly a matter of curiosity, but...
I started on 4.1.2, used odin to flash a stock 4.1.1 ROM, used the code to unlock the phone, then flashed a Bell stock ROM to 4.1.2 again.
I thought that my phone used to have an "LTE" icon for data when connected to the LTE network. Now it shows a "4G" icon. Can anyone confirm whether it originally showed LTE or 4G? (I might be mixing up with my wife's Bell S4 which definitely shows "LTE"). I want to make sure I didn't lose any capability.
I know some report that some carriers show 4G but actually it's HSPA+. However, I can sometimes get it to show "H+", or "H", or "3G" (esp setting the Network Mode to WCDMA only) So that makes me feel that "H+" is HSPA+ and "4G" is LTE.
Further, under "About Device" -> "Status" -> "Mobile Network Type", I get the following associations between icon and network type.
"3G" ... UMTS:3
"H" ... HSDPA:9
"H+" ... HSPAP:15
"4G" ... LTE:14

On my other phone i can get 4g with straight talk, now that i have this phone i seem to be stuck on 3g or it says 3g when i have 4g. My friend says because it is sprint that all i will ever get is 3g and i am ok with that, but just wondering if there is a way to get 4g on it through straight talk.
sprint phones dont have a 4g logo, they have 1x, 3g and lte . so when your phone is on gsm itll say hspa or hspap which is 4g, its not 4glte . if you want the 4g logo , edit the build prop to change the name in the line tht says ro.product.name=zerofltespr and delete the spr and put "tmo". itll give you the tmobile icon instead. or type att and itll give you the att icon. im still tryna make gsm lte work. whenever i select lte it tries to connect to the sprint lte which isnt the same and gives us no data at all.

How were you able to put a Sprint S6 on straighttalk? ,i ask because when i check it shows my imei as not compatable for the BYOP service

byop device doesnt need an imei. just use the simcard number that is i believe last 13 digits . starts with 103 or 105
