New GS2. Tried GooManager and says recovery installed, but when I reboot, I get the standard recovery. Tried Odin. It said PASS for both TWRP and CW, yet when I try to boot into recovery, I just get stock. What step am I overlooking? Why does it say PASS when it hasn't changed anything?
You need to root first use auto root or exynos exploit app both by chainfire
then install recovery

I have both recoveries installed on my d2att, but everytime I reboot into Recovery, TWRP shows up. But I actually need CWM. How can I replace or set CWM as default? I have flashed CWM through ROM Manager but TWRP still appears on my reboot screen. What do I do?
Try flashing Philz Touch Recovery via Odin.
Try using the method to install cwm in this thread.

hey all, im stuck running the jedi elite rom (apps constantly FC, laggy, bulky) and so I downloaded AOSB rom. I booted into recovery, which was TWRP 2.6.3.8 i believe, maybe .9. I made a full backup, then I tried to install TWRP 2.7. I flashed the .zip file from the official site, then after flashing, i went to main menu, reboot, then i hit recovery. when it went to reboot into recovery, it got stuck on the black startup screen, it says
RECOVERY BOOTING....
RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Set Warranty Bit : recovery

this didnt bother me, as thats what it normally says when it boots up, but this time it was stuck. I downloaded Odin 3.09, then downloaded the TWRP 2.7 .tar and installed that, it booted into my old rom, and i tried to boot into recovery from there, same result. I used odin to boot back into the rom, downloaded goomanager, and downloaded the older 2.6.3.9 recovery and everything installed fine as far as i can tell, rebooted into recovery, nothing. I used odin to flash a CWM recovery, same results. It seems recovery is broken. Can anyone help me? I just want stock, AOSP android, tired of TouchWiz's bullcrap.

Version 2.7 of TWRP requires that you have the new 4.4.2 bootloader. Have you installed the new 4.4.2 bootloader?
If not, then downgrade your TWRP version to the previous one.
ah, no I haven't. How do upgrade the bootloader? And am I fine to flash the 4.4.2 AOSB ROM on TWRP 2.6.3.9?

I updated my system to 4.4.2 KitKat ota. Now I can't get my phone to root.. I have tried Odin and chainfire root method and it says pass but it won't root or install SuperSU any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks
To root u need to flash a recovery thru odin and then boot to recovery and flash superuser
I was told to flash philz recovery through Odin and check the root option. But I don't see that option! So do I need to flash SuperSU through Odin or recovery?? Thanks for the info..

I flashed it through recovery.
You need to Odin recovery of choice (I recommend philz latest) boot into recovery, and flash the SuperSU zip file, boot phone back into system, open supersu (if it force closes go into play store and update it) do necessary updating and disabling knox and viola you're rooted. Hope I helped.

I did the same thing suggested here and it worked just fine for me. Flashed Philz and then the chainfire root and then got myself the Wicked X rom and Im never going back to stock except for the theme look
I recently installed clockworkmod recovery on my friends Note 3 and when I tried going into the recovery to install a ROM the recovery doesn't boot up them goes to a black screen and boots up normally as if I just restarted the phone. Any help?

You may have installed the wrong recovery.
Check your download. If it's correct try odin again.
Pp.
I would ask for a little more information to help you figure this out.
What ROM is the device running? Stock? If so, that is the issue. In order for it to stick, you'll need to flash it via odin, after the flash, pull the battery, and manually boot into recovery mode and flash a custom ROM.
You'll need the "ROM".zip pre-loaded on the device before you do all of this.
Good luck.

4-open Rashr
5-Make backup of stock recovery (incase something goes wrong)
6-Click Install recovery from storage
7-Select the Recovery's image (.img file) in Rashr and install your recovery
8-Reboot and enjoy!
Recovery Mode not working
I succesfully rooted my i9082 using Kingo root. Then, I tried flashing CWM using Odin3 in download mode. Even after successfully flashing, the phone doesn't boot to recovery, it stays stuck at the Samsung boot logo. Even the stock recovery seems to have disappeared. The phone boots normally and into download mode, but I can't seem to access recovery or even bootloader. I have tried several different custom recoveries, and my custom BIN down is at 7 counts. Some applications I got off the Play Store say that I have no available recoveries installed/recognized. What do I do?
I also have same problem......!!!

Flash recovery again, try using Rashr app. If not work, might want to try flashing thru Odin.
