It seems as though the Seven application causes many of the newer ROMS to crash and hang. Specifically, I have been flashing some of the Energy ROMS with Sense 2.5. The only added software I install is ATT Keyboard fix and Seven - Seven consistently breaks my phone, need to hard-reset and re-flash. Just wondering if others are experiencing this, and hoping that perhaps the chefs can make some adjustments to allow this very valuable program to work. Thanks in advance for any input, and also, if anyone could post info on ROMS where SEVEN is working. NOTE: I am currently on Feb. 1 ENERGY ROM 21889 with Sense 2.5, and SEVEN HAS been working for now...
I am looking onto running seven for the IM features.. does this still crash on the newer ROMs. I am using the May1 Energy Rom and I am hoping for the best.
Presenting FroydVillain 1.1.1, TeamVillain's Froyo ROM (Android 2.2)
FroydVillain 1.1.1 INFO & Release Notes:
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
REMEMBER the ROM will only be at peak performance after it's been rebooted a couple of times, and when you've opened your apps once prior.
adb install won't work on this ROM, until you tick "Unknown Sources" in the Menu > Settings > Applications menu.
This appears to be a new security feature. Similarly, apps pushed to /data/app won't work either. You might not notice the issue, but the app does not get any of its permissions it should have, meaning that it is probably useless, and might FC constantly or whatever. So remember to tick the Unknown Sources box
The stock camera doesn't work properly - it takes photos OK, but it doesn't do live preview. The app "Camera Magic", which is free on the market, works fine, so we recommend that.
RELEASE NOTES:
Fixed in this release:
Multi-touch restored to improved touchscreen driver
Applied workaround for akmd running at 100% cpu utilisation (Thanks alankila)
Fixed GMail app resolution
VillainROM Updater now works
Compcache enable/disable script fixed (compcache on by default)
HTC Sense ringtones added
Issues outstanding:
Camera
Notification and chargeLEDs
Autobrightness (only dims when screen is turned off)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Coming from FroydVillain 1.1.0:
Do a wipe of data and dalvik at least.
Coming from any other ROM (Including FroydVillain 1.0.0):
Do a Full wipe, preferably including EXT.
DO NOT POST SUPPORT REQUESTS WITHOUT DOING THIS.

Enjoy, and be sure to leave any feedback
Thank you,
The VillainROM team.
dam gonna have to try this!
Sounds awesome. Just out of curiosity, is the fix for the camera live preview planned at all?
Mind making a quick list of the differences over 2.1? and is flash 10.1 planned for the near future? i remember getting it to work (pretty slow mind) with a .apk someone made.
Thanks anyway, great job guys!
How does the apps on ext work? Do widgets and apps stored on ext show on home screen? Been using the test alpha as this problem occurred in full alpha.

Nice. I've been waiting for a fully working froyo port. The camera issue was the last big problem for me. Will probably try this out tomorrow and report back (it's late here in the uk)

Thought that with the official 2.1 out and most ROMs being based on that, I'd thought that that I would stop playing around with new roms for a while...
Well that's gone for a toss now - thanks Villain team - downloading now...
Jep TeamVillain did it again, they make my heart beat faster! Thanks again guys!

Anyone have a mirror that isn't being battered?
great stuff, worked fine off first boot, coupel more, ran even better ..
one thing ...
the phone, when a call comes in, no slider for pick up/ignore ??
you have to use the phone hard-button to pick up ... how do you ignore call ? aside from turning volume down?
aside from that, camera magic is amazing, much better than stock camera anyways, even supports burst photos... amazing!! ...
but, if an update is made, a slider on the calls coming in woudl be sweet!
love this ROM so far, very snappy, and much better than the ezhero ROM's i've been using ... although, ezhero is 2nd best .. so no offence xenoside ...
i'll defn' donate when incoming calls have slider
worth downloading this ROM ... really well done, thanks villainrom.
Are my eyes deceiving me? Holy crow 2.2 for my Hero? DOWNLOADING HELLO!
just about to install after wiping everything fingers crossed!!!
Hey,
I just flashed Revolution HD 4.0 beta 2
And everything is running smooth.
Only thing is when i unlock my phone after being idle for some time
The first like 5 a 10 sec my phone reacts really slow.
Iam running radio: 12.35d.60.140fP_26.06.03_M2
Anyone know why how i could fix this?
Regards,
Martijn
I had the same experience on both the betas. It just seemed laggy overall. Keep in mind that these are very early builds, and probably not great for everyday use.
I flashed back to CyanogenMod7 (I really don't like Sense anyway).
Sounds like the CPU isn't ramping up when screen unlocks. An easy problem to solve with a custom kernel and SetCPU but unfortunately there's none available for GB Beta ROMs yet. Saying that, it could be one of those things that's fixed by a simple reboot.
For the record, the radio has nothing to do with this
Alright thanks guys,
I guess i need to learn to live with its untill theres a new update available
or switch to an other rom.. ill see
Hi there, I think this is my first thread. Might be the wrong forum but I thought I'd give it a try.
The reason I'm posting is because I'm looking for some support concerning the Virtuous Quattro RC3 for DHD. I can't post in the "development" thread because I apparently am a noob. Anyway here goes.
First, my specs:
Phone: Desire HD
ROM: Virtuous Quattro RC3
Kernel: LorDmodUE ICS BFS 8.8 final
Radio: 26.14.04.28_M
Patches:
Camera fix
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21930178&postcount=2072
What I'm looking for are solutions for some of the issues I've encountered during the past few days. Here's what I've experienced:
* HW video, not working - No solution, I know. Same goes for youtube etc.
* Camera, works perfectly - Fixed via patch see post above.
---------------
* GPS can't get a fix on signal. Not working. Worked perfectly on ARHD
FIXED
Patch: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21962018&postcount=2464
* Apps don't close by themselves, are they running in the background or am I just imagining this? If I long-press the home button every app I've started seems to running
SEMI-FIXED
Just swipe to the left/right.
* Auto-brightness isn't working as well as it should be.
FIXED
Patch: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21970997&postcount=2473
* With Wifi on the phone doesn't switch to 3G automatically if I move outside the Wifi area. I have to turn on/off airplane mode and enter pin to get it to work again. Doesn't work to turn Data on/off.
* Can't read SIM-contacts. I had to move all my contacts to my google-account.
* Wifi signal seems to be weak as well, the bars on the icon go down one or two levels despite me being about 2-3 meters from the router.
* Dialer crashed once but I don't know the reason why.
------------------
Anyway, the issues I've listed seem to all be minor issues and they don't bother me too much to be honest. The battery doesn't drain too fast and it's great for normal use (calls, browsing, s/r texts, pics, viewing vids with mx).
But if there's a patch I'm missing or some other type of fix for the issues I've listed, I'd be glad if you could post it here.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Master and Blaster.
Hi, I'm somewhat of a noob (here, anyway) as well, but I'll try to give some help. I'm running Virtuous Quattro RC3 on an Inspire 4G, but the answers should still help. Grain of salt.

Haven't had a problem, but one of the things I did was install the inspiremod patch, which supposedly fixes some GPS stuff (resetting for North America, etc.) Not sure if it could help you, but if you are willing to experiment...
* Apps don't close by themselves, are they running in the background or am I just imagining this? If I long-press the home button every app I've started seems to running.
Same here. In fact, it's something I've noticed even in GingerBread. But, if you have the list up with your long-press, swiping a task to the left closes it.
* Auto-brightness isn't working as well as it should be.
Here, auto-brightness works, but not sure about the "as well as it should be" part. Could you elaborate? I have noticed that, when I press Power button to "wake up" my Inspire, the screen is very dim. As I draw my passlock pattern, the screen brightens up a bit, but slowly.
* With Wifi on the phone doesn't switch to 3G automatically if I move outside the Wifi area. I have to turn on/off airplane mode and enter pin to get it to work again. Doesn't work to turn Data on/off.
Sorry, this works for me.
* Can't read SIM-contacts. I had to move all my contacts to my google-account.
I don't think I even use SIM-contacts any more.
* Wifi signal seems to be weak as well, the bars on the icon go down one or two levels despite me being about 2-3 meters from the router.
* Dialer crashed once but I don't know the reason why.
I have random lockups, as well.

There's an overwhelming amount of reading in the dev thread, especially when you have to wade through the off-topic garbage.
Thanks deeteroderdas.
I'll try the GPS fix you mentioned.
Regarding auto-brightness, It does work but I sometimes feel that it's not reacting to the environment quick enough if you know what I mean. Maybe I'm just imagining this. But I did manage to find a fix, I'll update the thread.
The Wifi issue could be due to the radio I'm using, it's a sense radio from ARHD.
Ahhh you swipe to the left to kill the app, "stupid me"....
Anyway, you've been great thanks.

Under settings, quattro control, general UI, there is also a toggle to "hold back arrow to exit app", near the bottom, if that interests you.
Anyway, you've been great thanks.

I've seen that some are complaining about missing a direct link to the alarm clock.
Here's app that might help:
Nexus ICS Minimal Analog Clock
It's basically a clock widget starts the alarm settings when pressed.

Thanks for this posting. I an noob to Virtuous Quattro RC3 so it's really helpful! I've got the fix for the camera (black screen). Anyone know if there is a fix for the video camera. Currently the camera stops responding if I try to switch to video mode..
I don't think there is a video fix right now. From what I have gathered through the ICS threads is that there are camera issues on all dhd/inspire ICS ports because ICS is very different from gb and our devs do not have some if the proper drivers yet.

Pretty much yes.
I gave up on Quattro and tried Affinity, not disappointed to tell you the truth.
ICS just felt incomplete I'd rather just wait for HTC to release an official ICS ROM.
AND THEY JUST ANNOUNCED IT!!!!!
Will be long time till we get an ics update, the ics roms are coming up good a I will say try once if you can live without your camera..

question
I asked a question before and no one answered so here it goes again,
I recently flashed this rom coming from another ICS rom, did the whole procedure, wiping then flashing.
The phone booted up alright and still works, but the camera when opened states
"Unfortunately, Camera has stopped." that is all what do I do???
Download Ucam...run at lowest resolution in settings and it works perfectly (on Inspire)...no glitches, good pic quality. No video though, don't think anyone does. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the update. Now that ice cream sandwich is going to officially be available for the Desire HD, this problem should be sorted sooner or later. It's because the official camera drivers are not yet available from HTC.

Thank you so much, I might revert back to virtuous affinity for now
Posting here as a new member because I'm not permitted to post in the development thread with less than 10 posts. I just joined to ask this question after lurking for a month.
I have this rom installed on my GNex, had Beta 1 also. Both have been excellent roms. I have followed the development thread since it started, and just reread the whole thing to make sure my question wasn't addressed there already.
I love the ROM, much thanks to the devs, it works great. Have only noticed today that when switching between profiles, features (GPS, Wifi, Data) are disabled properly according to each profile's config, but when switching profiles no features are enabled as they should. Once they are turned off by a profile switch they stay off until I manually reenable them via the Settings or Power Toggles. Again, I'm running SlimBean Beta 2 with Leankernel 5.4.
Is this feature just not totally there yet, or am I missing something on my end? Any guidance or insight would be much appreciated. Thanks, and thanks again to the Slim developers--it's a phenomenal ROM.
It is a Beta. I personally don't use the profiles so I can't comment but otherwise everything is working great for me.
