Occasionally I need to pull the battery on my Note 2 due to a freeze. When I do the phone will not start up again till I plug it in. When I do plug it in, the battery shows as empty for a few seconds and then jumps to 30, 40, 50, or whatever % charge there is.After that start up is normal. If I shut it down, it powers up fine on battery power.
Any ideas why this is happening. My phone is rooted but this hasn't occurred before last week and the Note 2 has been rooted since last December. It has the stock kernel.

I had my new HTC Desire 3 weeks ago. Those last days I plug my HTC to the charger overnight and when I take it back in the morning the battery is only up to 92-93% and the led is green, like it had a full charge. If I unplug-plug the device, it will resume charging, this time up to 100%.
Is this a normal behaviour for a battery 3 weeks old?
How can I fix this?
This is normal behavior of the phone. It charges up to 100% and then stops until the charge drops down to 90%, at that point it starts charging again up to 100%. This is what you have noticed, there is nothing wrong with your phone or the battery
This worked, even though I am no longer worried about it.
1) After green light unplug phone and wait 10 minutes
2) Shut phone off
3) Plug back in till light green
4) Turn back on
Poof, 100% but other than that the above post is correct, not a problem. I bought an extended battery for mine. 3,000 mAh and have no problems.
My issue is that When I am using the phone, normally on dolphin or else a chan viewer, my phone will just turn off. Like the battery died. My phone would have somewhere between a 70-20% charge. Most the time it is above 50%. I will power the phone on and it will say I have 1-3% charge left then shut off normally after.
If I plug it into a charger after that and boot it up (or pull the battery then on a charger and boot it up) the phone will come up fine and say I have 70-20% left. Just depends on where it was at before it shutdown. I can look at my battery usage when it comes up and you can see it go from say 60% to 2% after reboot, then back to 60% once I get it back up. There will be gaps in the usage.
I am currently on Shooter with the freedom kernal. I was on chop suey. I have not reimaged my rom, but I have reinstalled the kernal. I have tried to calibrate my battery and wiped the battery info.
Also my phone charges really slow now too. It can take 20-30 mins to go 5% at times.
I think I just need a new battery.
I think you're right
I have a sprint galaxy nexus. I went to camp for a week after turning it off on a half charge. When I came back I tried to turn it on but it immediately shut back off. I plugged it in for a couple hours and it did kind of charge, but the charge icon came on then it displayed the charging animation/battery percent for a second or so at most then rebooted into the icon, then charge animation. It keep cycling and does NOT hold a charge. When I turn it on after a little bit of charging, it says 50 or so percent battery but EVEN IF I KEEP IT PLUGGED IN it still goes down very rapidly. A charge like that goes back to 0 and shuts off within 5 minutes. I'm wondering if I actually killed the battery, or if it can be saved, or if it isn't even a battery issue but a software issue or something. Any help is greatly appreciated.:fingers-crossed:
So one day my phone wouldn't wake from the lock screen so i restarted it and battery went down to 4% from 47%. I plugged it in to the charger and nothing. I tried different chargers and still nothing - no lights, nothing this went on for almost a week. I left it on the charger for couple hours on September 1st and then the red charging light came on and i turned on the phone and voila! it worked. I decided i wouldn't let my battery go so low again. The next day i was using my phone and it shut off at 20%. i went to charge it and nothing! this began to piss me off. I left it on the charger and a few minutes later it began to charge. Today September 3rd, i was using my phone and the battery was on 37%, jumped to 27%, jumped to 17% then 0% and then shut off. I plugged it up and nothing! This phone is irritating me. Sometimes it charges normally and other times it takes forever to start to charge. i don't know what the problem is. can someone help me please? @timmaaa any help?
Hello XDA. So, my phone's battery lasts only 4 hours if I don't use it. Last night I did the steps for reseting the battery stats (Ensured it was completely empty to 0%, charged it to 100% while it was off, powered it on, unpluged power cable, dropped immediately to 97%, plugged back in, let it charge for another 2 hours to be shure it was 100%, deleted battery stats file and unplugged the cable), and today it's still the same... Bonus to this problem, it comes another one. If the phone is on WCDMA/GSM(Auto), when it drops under 75% the signal drops too. If I switch it to GSM only, it's ok untill 30% max. Bellow that, if I try to make a call, phone app freezes and the phone shuts down. I have official 4.4.2 rooted on N7105 LTE 4G. What should I do..? Thanks in advance.
