Proximity sensor?! It is responsible for turning the phone's screen off when you bring it close to your ear during a call. As for auto brightness, go to /system/etc and open hw_config.sh and look for this line - echo 1 > $dev/lcd-backlight/als/enable
Change 1 to 0 and save the file. Then reboot.
MAKE A BACKUP FIRST. Good luck

Problem solved! There was a built-in feature for controlling auto brightness in CM10 which worked when I reflashed the ROM.

no, that's working fine here.
For me, the vibrations are dead.
I set the "Vibrate" option to always and activated the haptic feedback, but nevertheless, it's not working anymore...

If you have flashed DoomKernel then it won't Vibrate it a reported issue with that kernel.
How about small contact pictures when sync with google? It was the worst thing in previous fw, i hate it! When i set picture to contact, after sync with google that pix became small Maybe this terrible bug fixed in new fw?
To see big pix when contact calling me is very important for me...

No, it can't be because there is a setting for Mobile Bravia engine in that screenshot.
I, too, want to know how to get Automatic Brightness.

How to make Notification LED blink Brighter

Today morning when I woke up I found a new way to make LED glow brighter
Using Root Explorer go to system/etc/pre_hw_config.sh
open the file with text editor and write the following code in it (change only the last three lines)
echo 7000 > $dev/red/max_current
echo 7000 > $dev/green/max_current
echo 7000 > $dev/blue/max_current
save the file and reboot...
now go to service Menu and test your LED.. See the difference...
Press thanks If I helped you :fingers-crossed:
Yes it is the same but I don't find it working in my phone so I made a mod by myself.
I am Using Xperia ion Lt28h [ICS 6.1.E.2.68]
Is it working in Xperia SL ??
HI , will this work for xperia SL 2?
This worked great. I changed the numbers to 20000 and it's so much brighter! Can we also make other colors brighter?
Yes but I could find only red blue and green LED bright, i think the rest will get brighter automatically as the rest of the colours are made by the combination of those three main colours

[Q] Soft keys backlight not working

Any ICS or JB Rom I have/had on WFS so far has this problem. When it's dark I can't see home, menu, back and search buttons because they don't light up until I go to settings>brightness and then move the slider. What is the fix for this does anybody know?
Having these exact same problem. Any known fix?

it's not bug.just you need to on it manually.
go to settings>display>brightness>custom brightness and set first level to 255.
(not sure about path but you just need to high level)
I think he's talking about autobrightness

There are Automatic backlight options, I experimented there but nothing lit up soft buttons.
Settings>display>automatic backlight>edit other levels.
In the buttons column set the first two values to 255 and then tap save & apply..
Remember it will only work when autobrightness is on!
Hit that "THANKS" button if i helped you...

Never even realized this. But surely them not lighting up is a good thing? Might save a few seconds off your battery!
But as i've held my wfs for over a year now, I know where to put my finger for the appropriate soft-key, so the lights aren't really needed

Auto brightness

Today I noticed a new thng on my xperia s
Wen I placed my fone on bright sunlight the brightness automatically increased and wen I covered the sensor it was back to normal
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
Whats wrong with that? Normal behaviour.
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
there is no option to check and uncheck in the settings regarding auto brightness, but i guess our phone has the sensor and its always on.i noticed it while playing fifa 14 and sometimes its trouble to see screen flicker, moving my hand i wanna switch it off temporarily
Ah yes I almost forgot there is no option to toggle autobrightness in the stock fw.
Also its activated only when the brightness is set over 25%.

For auto brightness never worked on my xperia s. Any idea why?

Proximity sensor not working right in calls

In most KK ROMs I've tried, the screen immediately goes off during calls, even if phone is not against my ear, and will not come on unless I press Home or Power several times.
Is there any fix for this??
Anyone? Bump?

Check under the phone settings for proximity settings. It should be under the settings in the phone app. Haven't used cm in a while, but it was located there at one time.
