Hi
I'm considering how to make proper backup and then how restore it properly?
I have 512 mb ext partition on my sd card.
What should I do when I want to restore applications on other rom?
Can I do it? Use recovery or other application for ex: titanum backup to do it?
Thanks in advance

If you wanted to make 100% sure you got everything you can use the recovery to make a full back up and then use the app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044414 nandroid manager. It allows you to fully recovery almost everything from your back up manually including the app data

Can anyone tell me how to upgrade to gingervillan from the defrost 6.1 rom without losing my data and settings? Do I do a nandroid or titanium backup? I'm kinda new to the rooting scene.

You will lose your settings as you are flashing a new Rom.
1. To keep apps: titanium backup (backup apps + data)
2. If you want to keep other data such as messages etc: my backup pro (this can backup your apps too but rather use titanium for apps)

backup files are on ur microsd , nand backup should be in clockworkmod folder (if u're using clockworkmod recovery) , as for apps backed up by titanium they are in the titanium folder
when u do a wipe and flash a new ROM,just install titanium again and restore the apps u want.

Actually settings can be saved, too (Homescreen, Icons, widgets, Messages, WiFi etc. ) with Titanium backup.
you should also ofcourse do a NANDbackup if you ever want to go back to your old rom. when you restore a NANDbackup everything will look the same as before the rom change.
So I'm currently on my rooted Desire, with the standard/stock rom, however the small internal storage space is now starting to bug me a bit.
My question is, then, seeing as Leedroid GB is so close to the stock rom, will I be able to flash over the top without any wiping? The whole backing up and restoring is such a laborious process that I'd rather skip.
Anyone done it? I read on the FAQ that it could work but I thought I would check to see if anyone has actually been successful before doing it myself.
Thanks!
You must do a full wipe, make backup of your apps with Titanium Backup (You can download it on Market) and then you can restore them easily

Just make sure that you first backup with titanium and then you wipe

no need to format all those data/system/cache, the nandroid restore itself will do it for you.. and you will get back those data & system ..
but please be carefull about those CWM ext4 support (especially if you use sense rom now).. i'm afraid if you're cwm is not supporting nandroid restore in EXT4 and you will only get EXT3 .. but it's not a big deal actually ..

Well if the calibration data is in that file, then I guess you don't need to.

The backups will appear in the clockworkmod folder on your SD card. You can restore them easily with CWM so it's a good way to do backups.
the backup is sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/your backup files .it was created by time.
