This might be a dumb question, but is there any way to port over the 4.2 lockscreen over to a 4.1.2 ROM? I'm currently running Xylon ROM, but I miss multi-window and S-note. The only thing keeping me in this ROM is the lock screen which I love. I was using WidgetLocker on the stock ROM which was OK, but I like the way the 4.2 one works, especially with the swipe-to-the-right camera feature. Anyone know?
Yeah, there is no port and youve alreqdy run the closest substitute as far as I know. I love cLock on cm10.1 and I've found some decwnt widgets that kinda look similar, but it's not quite the same and we definitely don't have the swipe to camera.

This might come out as a little noobish, but what is the main difference between the two, aside from appearance? If I'm using widgetlocker, should I care if my roms lockscreen is aosp or tw and if so, why? It seems like rom developers make a big deal out of it.
TW lock dosnt let you silence the phone,AOSP lock dosnt let you check messages with a single swype... I use AOSP just because I need to silence it all the time.

If you're using WidgetLocker I don't think it matters which one you're using...I could be wrong on that, but I know in my case I was running ACS Frozen with AOSP Lockscreen and when I installed WidgetLocker it kinda took over the whole thing to the point that I don't see AOSP Lock at all...
Hey Guys and Girls,
I love roms,I am always flashing new ones but I have an idea and I need help getting it.So I like sense but love gingerbread, the thing i love about sense is the lock screen where i can drag the apps to the bubble.Thats pretty much it,so I want to have gingerbread as my actual home screen, app screen, and for my keyboard.I know this sounds pretty crazy but can anyone help me find a rom or apps that can help my obtain this.Answers to this quetion would be very appreciated
install a sense rom then install a launcher from the market

Agile lock from the market is a nice sense 3.0 lockscreen clone. Its still inferior as the software is a little edgy and there aren't any sms previews like the sense 3.0 one has. I currently use this with CM7 along with sms popup from the market and it works great.
Otherwise download a stable sense rom with the sense 3.0 lockscreen (Nils Gingersense, Synergy) and use a different launcher.
There's also SupraROM which is an AOSP Sense 3.0 mix, but I'm not sure if it has the sense lockscreen.

I know when I ran MIUI about a month ago there was a Sense ring lockscreen you could install in Theme Manager. The downside was I couldn't figure out how to pick what apps other than the ones it gave you. Maybe that's changed, not sure there.

Ah right, I forgot about this option.
I do believe that they can be changed. You have to edit a text file though so its not as easy as HTC makes it. There's a MIUI lockscreen thread with a few of those sense ring lockscreen alternatives. However they all have one thing in common: when releasing the ring, the screen immediately unlocks. No cool "fly through the ring" effect.

Div033 is correct on the MIUI sense 3.0 lockscreens, they look pretty much identical but lack the fancy animation.
I'm not sure what the OP means by this:

By gingerbread, do you mean the stock AOSP look? Because if so, you could use agile lock on CM7, like has already been mentioned, or maybe try the synergy rom with the warm theme. It has the sense 3.0 lockscreen but is themed with quite a few AOSP gingerbread elements.
hey i love cm9 but sort of miss the water lockscreen and samsung camera app, i was wondering if there is a way to get these on an aosp rom or a touchwiz rom with aosp apps like the dialer and such? thanks for any input
Nope
lol i guess thats that, thanks, and thanks for all your work on aokp love that rom, wish they would throw in the cm9 battery style as an option, always wanted that with a center clock
I'm looking for a way to customize the Jelly Beans lockscreen to replace Google Now (the one on the "up" position on the slide ring) with the Phone app.
I've seen that some custom ROMs have this, but I'd rather not flash a custom ROM, I just want to flash a mod on top of stock 4.1.1.
I did search the forum, but couldn't find one.
Does anybody know of a good way to do this?
Thanks!
learn. diy. watch how rom devs implement those changes.

If you don't want to flash custom Rom, get this app called widget locker. Which is not only customizable, but also really functional!

Thank you for the tip. I looked into this Widget Locker app, and it seems to be great feature-wise. But according to reviews, it seems to have several issues on Jelly Beans (slow/lags, makes user unlock to take a call, high memory consumtion, among others).
Ideally, I'd like a modded JB lockscreen to flash on top of my stock JB 4.1.1. Since that is already implemented in several custom ROM's, I figured someone might have done a stand-alone lockscreen mod to flash just that.
I couldn't narrow the search term to find what I was looking for, so here it goes. Is there a feature on Touchwiz or AOSP/AOKP that keeps you from one or the other? Is there something that you have to have? I am running Task's AOKP and have flirted with some of the TW roms but keep going back. It just seems a ligher, more responsive rom. Multiwindow was definitely a draw but I don't see when I would ever use it and the screen just doesn't feel big enough to support it. I do miss the TW calendar. What are your thoughts?
I dont like the aosp lockscreen and the way new notifications are displayed. guess I am used to tw lockscreen and sms app. seem to work better for me. I didnt like the lack of customization with tw until I discovered morphology. aosp and tw roms come down to what each offers now imo. but I have never been able to get tw battery longevity on aosp roms. so tw it is for now. aosp does offer the latest versions of android which is nice but so far as I can tell Im not missing out on much
AOKP
