Hi, yes it shows up no problem.

I tried your newer version v2.2 it now reboots my device but hangs on 'Waiting for device'

Strange, its working fine for me, I'll keep looking in to it.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire2 using xda app-developers app

Thanks a lot, I very much appreciate it, keep up the good work! :good:

Hi,
I had tried the YAKF2U V2.2 and it was hung up on "Waiting for device" for a long time. It could not proceed from there. I got the same issue when I ran the "fastboot" command myself on the console. May be it is hanging because of fastboot issue.
After searching through the forum, it seems that the rooting can be done with Bin4ry root software. I tried and it worked! The same tool I had used for rooting 10.2.6 version also. I am not able to put the URL here, so please search through the forum.
Now I have root access on 10.3.0 without degrading the bootloader to 10.2.6. If you have strong reasons to go behind 10.2.6 then all the best!

Just tried to re-root on 10.3.0 using Bin4ry and it WORKED, I have root again. thanks for that.

Bin4ry Root will be working in the next version of YAKFU.
Also the downgrade bootloader option is there so you can install a custom recovery, and then a proper version of Android.

where can i find this utility

[Q] Help needed with rooting & rom manager!

Hello,
Im having an issue with rooting my Gnex. I rooted with the device with One Click Method and everything worked. At the end I need to reboot my device and then download ROM Manager to Flash ClockworkdMod Recovery. I click on that and choose the version ( GSM ) and then it runs for a few seconds and freezes. I get this: An erorr occured while attempting to run privileged commands! Please tell me what to do because I'm stuck
Did it ask for Superuser access at any point?
If not...
You aren't rooted.
Run the toolkit again *blegh* if you must...
But I'd recommend doing it the manual way.
Details for doing so linked in my sig.
Re
Oh no it didn't! Damn I will do that, thanks for your fast replie!
Edit: Another question, your link is good but with what thing should I start, I have the bootloader unlocked.. Should I still start with setting up ADB?

Root Firmware 18.1.A.1.21

There is a way to root new firmware 18.1.A.1.21 . Tested by myself on my new Xperia T3 (D5103).
Follow the steps below. Credits to him: ( Taken from this post: http://forum.android.com.pl/f1428/root-dla-xperii-t3-456064/ )
1. Install ADB drivers. Follow the steps from this post (Method 1 better): http://dottech.org/21534/how-to-ins...ows-computer-for-use-with-your-android-phone/ IMPORTANT: CHECK THAT YOUR PHONE CONNECTS TO PC VIA ADB BEFORE PROCEED TO THE NEXT STEP.
2. With Flashtool, flash the .21 firmware, if you didn't have already flashed.
3. Turn on the phone. Active USB debugging and Install apps from unknown sources.
4. Turn off phone, and flash .14 kernel with flashtool. Download kernel from here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-GorbT9vz2qSlczRHlPWGdKb1U
5. Turn on phone, and connect it to PC via USB. Doesn't matter if phone get stuck in "Updating apps" screen.
6. Download last version of root toolkit by cubeundcube: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2559009. With phone connected to PC, launch install.bat from the toolkit. Follow the steps until the phone reboots.
7. Now turn off the phone, and flash again the kernel from .21 firmware: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-GorbT9vz2qQm91VU4wWnZvd28
8. Reboot and now you're on .21 firmware and rooted :good:
Nice one..
Is there no one click method...
Im already on 18.1.A.1.21 firmware
Nice tutorial, the only one I've found!
Do I need to exclude TA in flashtool?
thanks.
as u dont unlock the bootloader there is no reason to do so...
also as for now .. can we even backup the TA partition ??
i've red that after relocking bootloader the drm keys are back ...
Confirmed. This method works very well, even if it is not a one-click method. Thank you.

Thanks, I finally did It
Once your phone is rooted, you can backup TA partition, but you have to do it BEFORE you unlock your bootloader. It won't be possible after unlocking it
If you back up your TA partition, then you can relock your bootloader using that backup, like nothing happened.

Unable fo factory reset or boot into CWM

HI Guys,
I need some help, i cant peform a factory reset or boot into CWM, i was not able to reboot into CWM after the first installation. I rooted my AFTV these are the steps.
1) block updates on router.
2) fire tv running stock version 51.1.0.1
3) rooted fire tv (installed towelroot, supersu and busybox)
4) disable updates via adb on the fire tv
5) partially unlock boot loader
6) install CWM 6.0.5.1.4a (yes i granted su permission)
At this point fire tv rebooted but it did not bring CWM instead it went to straight to normal amazon boot. I tried alt+printscn approach but didn't work. When i try to get into cwm via adb command "adb reboot recovery" it will reboot and for a split sec i see blue screen and but then it boots up in normal amazon menu.
So i decided to do factory rest and start over.....problem is it is not really resetting the box, it takes me to the initial amazon sign in screen, i enter my login info and bang into main menu and all my apps that was there before are still installed.
Good news is i can still adb to the box and have root access.
any suggestion who to fix this?
I am still running on stock version 51.1.0.1 and i have not installed rbox boot menu. Also, i have done rooted 6 boxes so i am fairly familiar with the process and steps to follow.
Thank you
Try this.....

I also tried to upgraded but after the zip file was adb to the box fire tv did reboot but didn't go thru the installation process.
Any other suggestion guys please? I hate to return this box since it has root since it is getting harder and harder to find AFTV which has root able firmware?
I have been trying to get into CWM via "Alt+print Scrn + i" for few days now but without any luck i have tried this with wired and wireless keyboard, I hold these 3 keys simultaneously as soon as i see the white amazon logo and again when i see the colorful amazon log. Am i doing something?
However, when i do manage it get into CWM. What should i do? Should i select wipe data/Factory reset option? Will this take my AFTV to the way it came from amazon? I am still running amazon stock version 51.1.0.1 and fully rooted with Super su and busybox installed.
Thank you

You need to get in CWM to upgrade to a pre-rooted image.
Have you tried to downgrade (reverse) to factory as per above link? That should work without no issues, should bring your box back to stock and you can start from zero again. I done it numerous times however you need to read carefully and follow the guide step by step sending all the commands one by one in ADB

I tried to revert it back to stock following aftvnews guide step by step, read it over and over before actually doing it but on the final steps, AFTV will reboot but does not install the actual files.
i also rooted another box last night and everything went fine so i am not sure whats up with this box.

Amazon Fire TV stuck on "Amazon Fire TV" logo after

Updated my rooted Amazon Fire TV to 51.1.5.0_515020820. Now I'm stuck on "Amazon Fire TV" logo. Clockwork recover is installed. I cannot ADB to a network connection to issue Adb Reboot Recovery. If I connect a USB keyboard Control-Alt-Delete will reboot Amazon Fire TV. I did try Alt-PrintScrn-i to get to the default recovery screen but I think that is disabled when you install Clockwork mod. Any ideas?
Wow.. Exactly same result doing exactly same thing!!
Don't have a USB keyboard so haven't tried that yet. Also while searching I came across a method which involve connecting FTV with computer using a A to A type USB cable while power is unplugged and then putting the power cable back on triggers fastboot mode, did you try that?
i am too, now i can not connect:crying:
Unbricked.. Yay!!

So I was able to unbrick my AFTV with the same Alt+Prt Scr+i keyboard method already posted before. It took sometime and AFTV rebooted 3-4 times before finally going to recovery, since I had cwm recovery installed, it directly went to cwm.
OP, I dont know why this method didn't work for you.. As i mentioned above, it didn't go to stock recovery but directly to cwm. I guess you should try again.
To anyone who does the same mistake again, I had the soft brick because I missed flashing the FTV boot menu by rbox. I was coming from older version ( 51.1.3.0_513011820), and while I did install the rbox's prerooted stock 51.1.4.0_514006420+updated before flashing the latest update, I missed flashing the boot menu (I did know about it and even moved the .img file to FTV with all other files, somehow just forgot to flash it inbetween the 2 updates).
I have the same issue but managed to get clockwork mod to be displayed. What option did you choose? Install from zip? Clear partions?

If you in cam recovery screen, you can see your fire tv box's ip at the low left screen. You can not connect cause of your ip has changed (in my ip changes from 192.168.1.103 to 192.168.1.110).
Then you can use adb push to copy rom image to your fire tv and install it. Good luck

I had the same issue with the latest custom firmware soft bricking my device. I managed to get back to recovery screen, then reloaded previous firmware and everything was back as it was.
Can anyone advise on what steps are best to get the newest custom firmware on my device ?
I have read things about re-flashing rbox recovery screen, etc ?
If you are on 51.1.5.0 and you are stuck on the amazon logo and never saw bootmenu, that means you didn't follow the instructions for flashing 51.1.5.0 which say you must have bootmenu.
I just updated last night and it works great--painless process. And I was coming from 51.1.4.0 which on this particular aftv meant unlocking bootloader, installing boot menu, then pushing the rom.zip.
A lot of steps but I thought it was really easy. I followed the guide aftvnews meticulously put together and don't think I strayed from it at all.
*Obviously this post is for people reading about issues other users are reporting and it might give them pause to install it. I don't think it should because its not hard. Take the time to check all md5 sums! It might be worth it...make certain ALL prerequisites are met.

This is where I went wrong. I have 4 fire tv's, and I have always updated them together with no problem. I mistook "boot menu" to think that was a reference to CWM menu. I always thought of that as the "boot menu", when in fact that was my mistake and the cause for bricking the two devices. In this scenario there is no way to unbrick that I can find. The keyboard alt i print screen is a no go, fastboot is a no go, I have tried everything but unless there is something I am missing, I made a mistake and it cost me two firetvs.

Well that is why the post for the prerooted images links to the boot menu post... but fastboot will only work if you did the full unlock. If you're not fully unlocked and sysrq doesnt work, then you are stuck.

Thank you so much!! just a little heads up, you will need to connect the Fire TV with the LAN cable so this could work, then you could use ADB from your computer to push the correct rom, my mistake was that I installed Boot Menu before updating to 51.1.4.0 and then I updated to 51.1.5.0, big mistake! you need to install Boot Menu before updating to 51.1.5.0 and to fix my problem I just downgraded to 51.1.4.0 from ClockworkMod Recovery
Cheers!!

Cannot get to download mode. Phone working fine.

I want to flash a custom rom but unable to install recovery because I'm on Android 6.0 and have no root.
Tried to root with 1 click but realized later that it doesn't work with 6.0
So now I'm following a procedure to downgrade to Android 5 but unable to get into download.
When I press volume up and plug in the phone it shows me a screen with a white phone and yellow triangle like this one (https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61JPlI0IYWL._SL256_.jpg).
Also when I try to do it through "adb reboot download" the phone just reboots and goes back to OS.
What are my options here?
Thank you in advance.

First of all could you please tell me what LG G3 Model are you?(example: D855)and also what "V" (version) of Marshmallow (example:v30c).
They are needed to proceed at downgrading or even rooting immediately without downgrading.(KingRoot is the one that is working well)

Did you try installing "King Root"( NOT "Kingo Root"!)to your Device?
If you've downloaded king root and it didn't give a positive answer then downgrade will be required to Root.
Downgrading Guide
Not necessary
Before starting you may need to backup your photos, etc.
Go to Settings then "Backup and Reset" then you will see "LG Backup" click on it and make the backup. After all these steps move your backup file to your SD Card or to your PC.(Go to File Explorer then to the folder "LG backups")
So let's go on..!
Go here and select the one of them(they are the same) But if you already have a kdz file then bypass his
http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G3/Stock/Canada+D852/MM+6.0/
Then go over here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
And scroll down to "How to flash ROM kdz method"
Enable USB debugging
https://www.recovery-android.com/enable-usb-debugging-on-android.html#part1
Connect your phone to your PC
Download LG drivers(Not Verizon one's!)
Download Lguptool, unzip it,open the folder and inside of it where all the lguptool files are located move the kdz file that you downloaded.
Open lguptool with admin prompt!
Select type CMDA and phone mode DIAG
Select the kdz file and click "CSE Flash"
Then click "start"
A menu will appear, select language and click "Ok"
After all these steps you will need to wait till the phone boots.
Then you will be able to root your phone(King root) and flash TWRP and ROMs!
If you also want a guide on how to get SuperSU after getting Root access from King Root, then just tell me and I'll reply as fast as i can.
Greetings and Good luck!
Thank you! I will try this right now.
But this KBZ file is for MM no? Wouldn't I need one for Lollipop?

OK that makes sense.
I tried the KingRoot but no luck, so will try the second method.
I'm having issues with windows recognizing my phone... says "usb device descriptor request failed". I tried installing/reinstalling LG drivers, still have issues. Funny thing is it worked not too long ago... Same happens on another Win10 machine.
Once I figure it out I will try your 2nd method.
Thanks a lot!

Looks like I still have issues with USB. I finally got it to recognize the device but when LGUP reboots the phone it again says "device not recognized".... no clue what the problem with USB is...

So I finally made it work, there was a problem with USB port on the phone.
Now how do I reboot to recovery?
I rooted with KingRoot and installed SuperSU from play market and TWRP recovery from the app.
When I reboot it doesn't go to recovery, I assume because KingRoot gives temp root? I downloaded reboot app to go to recovery but when it reboots it just flashed the LED light.

FYI,
I tried this so far with no luck:
1) Tried this script. It removed KingRoot and at the end when it installs SuperSU it fails to update binaries. Tried this multiple times
2) Installed Super-Sume app but it just sits and does nothing. Tried different versions.
3) I read that there is AutoRec for D852 but the link does not work and I can't find a copy (https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/apk-flash-twrp-autorec-thanks-to-t3081396)
Do I even need to install SuperSU? I just want to flash a different ROM but cannot get into recovery because Kingroot is temporary.
So I gave up on KingRoot.
Just downgraded with LGUP using old .TOT Lollipop file, rooted and installed custom ROM.
