Forget screen shots I wanna see screen cast's of the rom YOUR on! Go get the screencast app from the playstore and lets see what makes the rom your on the best! battery life?, most customizable?, better Rom control?, I dont care, I wanna see it live! This will be a great way to see other roms the community is on with out having to do anything other than watch a video. Im curious to see how creative you all get. ACTION!

I use a launcher called SweeterHome. Kinda obscure and a steep learning curve but well worth learning. Unsupported for 2 years now but works flawlessly on ICS

We won't have too many ROM options, besides AOSP and TouchWiz, until CM10 is officially released. It's out for the international version, but only time will tell how long it takes to reach our version of the device.
If you want to take a giant risk, go ahead and flash ParanoidAndroid for the international version, but it'll probably hard-brick your device.

Hard Brick? If this were Wikipedia I'd tag that with [Citation Needed]
I agree it will probably make it non-functional, but I find it hard to believe it's something that restoring an original sprint partition wouldn't fix.

Maybe so, but I've heard stories of people hard-bricking their devices by flashing kernels made for different devices.

If anyone really wants this type of ROM, go to TMO GN2 forums and look at DaGR8s ROM. Or join #saurom on freenode. I asked if he could bring it over but he would rather have me maintain it but I know zero when it comes to modifying stock roms, smali, etc lol.

Arent there issues flashing zips from 7100 at&t and tmobile on sprint. I know Verizon is somewhat similar to sprint?

No I dont mean to flash the TMO version lol. I meant like port all the features to a stock deodexed rom for our device. Thing is, I have no experience with touchwiz so I couldnt do it. He's looking for someone to maintain it for our device.

Sorry but im bit of a nooby to all this but I learn very fast. This is mt first rooted phone so I dont know any rules but im not ignorant to boundaries. I did install Andrea kitchen thing but haven't had time to play. I just really like tablet mode and dont like other variants having doin way more mods and roms, lol
I think today im goona mod back case for wireless. Im also coming for htc (evo 4g) and note 2 samsung is like beyond super user friendly.
So im not sure what you mean by porting and maintaining...
I hear great things about CM and paranoid android and am eager to get them on my note2

No offense, but I don't understand what you're asking. I say this because Android 4 is the same on phones and tablets. I have ASUS Transformer Infinity (TF700T) and this phone, and both are running Android 4.1. The difference are more device specific about screen size and particular hardware.
The mods I've seen are more about squeezing more functionality out the device, such a WiFi tether and mutli-app. They don't bring a more tablet experience than what the device already is in my use thus far.

Youtube hybrid tablet mode on note2 or look up paranoid android. You'll see what I mean/layout

Your cruelty knows no bonds. Making me search, LOL. Took me a while to find something that showed it. Most just videos on found on Youtube left in the ROM(s) in phone phone mode. This one showed it best that I was able find first.
But yes, I get it now. The sad part, only a few apps I use really have tablet interfaces. I like a similar interface across devices if possible. Although, it would be nice if K9 had a tablet UI. But I digress....

Yea I meam to me with 5.5 inch screen its more tabletized to me so why not exploit it more. **** if you advertise it as a "phablet" then why not send it with the optionm?!

I like the idea of picking some apps to use in Tablet form. NFL Game Pass has a good tablet app; but I believe it's designed for 10" tablets, not the small ones such as Nexus 7. I like Chrome's interface on the tablet over the phone as well.
I have the ASUS Transformer Inifinity. Needless, some apps are interesting with their user interface.
Unfortunately, most apps on Android are still designed for the phone interface. As Android tablet get more popular, we'll see design interface incorporate the larger screens.
At the moment, I'm just happy to have a larger screen so I can see without having to zoom everything.

I hear ya but im constantly in settings and everywhere else hitting the back button a lot. Would be nice to have it all on 1 screen. Im gonna try and port PA. I would of bought or stayed with my evo. I want to see just how far I can take this lil big thing.
Was at wedding Saturday night and whipped it out & the table was in ahh at phone. Mostly iphoners. They were jaw dropped. Just wish I had hybrid mode to make them faint. Lol

My coworker saw my GN2 and I heard a "GOD DAMN!!!!" Another coworker (Sprint GS3) and I like to tease another about his iPhone4 since he complains a lot about it.
Yea, the settings is a nicer setup on my tablet. Switching tasks is a lot faster too. I just hit one button instead of holding it down. But I like this phone's recent task list. It actually closes the programs. I really like the clear memory option too. Why they can't incorporate a clear cache, is beyond me, but something I would like in that menu area.

Im so impatient. I want to buy n7100 just to flash it. Lol but I guess I'll have too

Couldnt play vids but I wasnt impressed.
Yea switching tasks is becoming cumbersome especially when im not driving but yea I get looks and ahh's everytime it comes out. Was recently at an indoor waterpark resort in PA mts and there was starbucks in there. 1st time I paid the baristas where like, hell yea a screen I can read bar code. Couple workers few days later where like, ah your the guy with the note 2? Can we see it.. lol

As far as I know, yes. I checked in the Play store after I activated it to see if the full version said "Purchased" but it doesn't . I don't see why backing up and restoring wouldn't work unless they update it later to remove activation.

You mean that this free offer only works if you don't update Next Launcher 3D?
I purchased my Next Launcher about 2 months ago and I just checked and there
is no update of it today in the play store.
The last update at the play store was June 7th. which was v1.35
If you would have made a titanium backup of Next Launcher 3D you could have restored
the full version you had and just kept the same version until or if you decided to pay for it.

I did happen to make a TB as I've been flashing a bunch of different roms the last 2 days, and also didn't get to play around with it that much as a result, but....
Quite honestly, I despise companies like this. They offered a free promo to get people to download it. The way it "SHOULD" work, is those people tell their friends how good it is & they make their $$ by all the word of mouth advertising. Apparently they got a larger download than anticipated (which should be good), but their only and OBVIOUS intention was to TRICK people into downloading it. Setting it all up & spending quite some time with it, and then intentionally breaking it with the hopes that even 10% of the people buy the app now at full price! Horrible. I not only wouldn't give them a penny for their launcher, let alone if they develop any other software I'll be sure to stay away.
On a side note.... People should check out everything.me launcher. Brand new in beta & FREE. Very cool concept & different.

want to buy stuff ranging from food to movie tickets and a lot of other things which the launcher does a very
good job advertising whenever doing a search for anything. It creates nice icons to use for shopping for stuff.
Being that the launcher is still in beta it really does an excellent job in what is was intended for. LOL

Mines grey'd out and activation code doesn't work. I'll try deleting and loaded old copy from tb & reupdating.
EDIT: Still a no go. Old version loads as says activation failed.
You sure you still have the full version? or is it just the lite?

Stock Rom Discussion

So, how many of us are loving the new S4 but hating the stock rom? This stock rom IMHO is horrible! :banghead:

It is definitely very bloated. My perfect rom would be the S4 Google version with tmobile wifi calling. I don't need any other samsung apps or gimmicks.

Isn't THAT the truth? I'm a ninja, not some far fetched Jedi. The gimmicks are so annoying. I cant stand the stock Samsung keyboards, and swype. Im always hitting the wrong keys and crap. I cant wait to flash CM. Its been forever since I had a new phone and I forgot just how bloated and overdone stock can be. I think the best feature is the multiwindow thing but its kinda annoying. And honestly thats the only new feature I have turned on. Everything else is mostly junk options to me. :thumbdown:
The worst thing about it to me is that annoying lookout security crap. My phone is and always has been fine without it. Its built on Linux for crying out loud. What do I need for security on Linux? Nothing. Lmfao. If this was a windows phone, then a nightmare of issues would be a major concern, but not here and certainly not now.
It's also annoying to. Have to. Remove several unintentional periods in my text, alllll the time. Yep, can't wait for.stable CM.
Why wouldn't they put a filter over the cam feed so it.can see you during.nighttime conditions? All that eye following hand waving crap dont work in horrible lighting.conditions.

Hey now there's nothing wrong with Windows phone I'm coming from a windows phone back to android I would be less worried on a Windows phone than on an Android tbh because 1 there's no security app needed and there's no need for one, at least not yet. Development for Windows phone is so slow, it seems to be speeding up now though.

I kinda like the Stock Samsung keyboard... but it's mostly for the number keys being above the keyboard and not having to long-press the top row of letters to access the numbers... Now if that function could be added to SwiftKey.... *drool*
As far as the lockout app; root + uninstall gets rid of that junk.

Question, is there a stock rom anyone of you know I can use on M919 without the bloatware?

I chose the nightly CyanogenMod. Google S4 was very bland. Stock ROM had too many quirks. But CM is legit thus far. Old faithful.
About the stock Samsung KB. That would be legit if they would just get rid of that dumb period button on the right from the keyboard.

If you want MIUI, although it's not in great working form ATM, do some searching. I'm sure you can find out how to flash another S4's ROM to the M919.

bought both and not sure which I like the best...I so wish I could combine the best of each phone and make the perfect one.

I really can't get past how small the s4 is..I've been spoiled by my Note 1 for so long anything smaller isn't an option for me.

Agreed! I've also felt like the S4 is a bit flimsy by comparison. When I hold my G Pro it feels solid and sturdy. When I hold my girlfriend's S4 it just feels light and cheap. Having all kinds of Dev and ROM support would be nice, but the LG Software isn't as bad as TW and we've got thecubed hard at work cracking the bootloader open.
Until Samsung steps up their build quality I'll be sticking with other manufacturers.

Same thing here. I bought the St and found the screen to be too small. This phone is perfect on the stock ROM.

I seriously can't stand Touchwiz. For the first time in a long time the manufacturer UI on a phone doesn't really bother me. Rock on LG!
Seriously the only gripe I have is that the contacts app doesn't let me manually join contacts.

tap the contact, tap the menu button, tap join, tap the contact you wish to join.

I haven't tried the lg contact to synch cause that app has always given me the best looking pics

Well I've decided to keep all the phones( note 2, LG Optimus gpro, and the s4. I said I wasn't going to be that guy spending so much money on phones but it just kinda happened. Lol and now I can't make up my mind...damn you cell phone manufactures.

I had the S4 and I sold it and bought the G Pro and love the G pro Better because the more customization and that cool led notification around the home button I rooted, but I will probably never put a custom rom on it:good:

You can't because there's nothing available. I have both phones and I gotta say that I hate not being able to install custom roms. Also when it comes to updates, LG sucks. It took over a year for LG to release ICS for Thrill. Even then, the ROM still sucks and still outdated. It's slow as hell. The OGP has somewhat up to date ROM now, but I'm afraid that it'll be stuck at 4.1.2 forever while the S4 is enjoying the unannounced 4.3.

Just because it's leaked doesn't mean it'll get 4.3 anytime soon. As for this phone, better than the rest in my opinion. Gs4 is good but I couldn't stand the lag and even though had custom Rom on it I couldn't help but be annoyed by the samoled screen, especially after owning the nexus 4. Regardless of when we will get custom roms, this phone is still badass the way it is. Stock Rom updates, who needs em? Majority of us are going to install custom anyways and those we don't want to do custom just root.

If TouchWiz is annoying and you want a solution without a root check Nova launcher out.

Touchwiz encompasses more than just the launcher. It's the theme of the settings, SMS, browser... the default icons. I just don't care for it. It feels web 1.0 on a web 2.0 world

WTF are you talking about? S4 is already running 4.3 Google Edition. If you mean OGP won't get it anytime soon then I can totally understand.
