Yep yep yep ... aosp is using emulation and when flashing back you will need to use the sd card restore file .... it will be in most aosp roms in the op or second post ....

Please excuse my noob question but besides taking up valuable space on the sd card is there any issues with just leaving it alone

So long as you keep track of where everything thing is stored and don't mind scratching your head from time to time.

Somehow I'm guessing a partition was made but I don't know, what do you guys think? And it's weird cause I don't see anything when I look in the directory.

Question have you flashed a cm10 based Rom?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
I have but I have wiped data , and flashed roms. In the end I guess it was a glitch, I wiped data again andreflashed my rom and im okay.

I understand the files are still there under the 0 file extension, but am I missing some kind of step for sd card photos to show up in gallery, music from sd card to show up in the player, honestly this "new" implementation is keeping me from enjoying the AOSP ROM experience...Thank you in advance for any help!

Bump....anybody?

I haven't had any problem with this. The "0" folders are created on the internal memory, not the external when I switched to aosp. If you use a file explorer, can you at least open the files on the ext card?
If your sdcard is formatted in exfat you won't be able to use it with AOSP roms.
infected with the unspeakable

Works fine on TW ROMs... On AOSP, no ext. files...I.e. Music and pics and downloads... Even using file explorer can't get to them...

Yes you have to format it to fat32. Aosp roms aren't licensed to use exfat

Pretty sure me flashing an asop rom is was causeed this. For some reason when I do my phone put all my internal memory into one folder called 0 and starts a completely new internal store file. Its not a big deal but its a little annoying haveing to move everything I want to flash over to my sd card.

Its to do with andorid 4.2's implementation of multiple users. There is a zip somewhere called "Flash before downgrade" or something like that that will move it back for you

Has anyone tried this?

Just disable the apps you don't use and you're set.

Also keep in mind if you do not have a 100% bone stock image, you usually can not get official updates and would likely have to reflash a stock image anyway, so it seems kind of pointless to me.

If you're going as far as flashing a custom recovery you might as well just root the darn thing.

I had a AT&T Note 2, model number SGH-I317. And when I flashed TWRP and Cyanogen mod, it now shows up as model number: GT-N7105. Is this a bad thing? Any and all information would be appreciated.
If it's booting then your ok but sounds like your just flash a Rom for the international GN2. Which you shouldn't do! Could put you into a bootloop or even a brick!!
Unless it states that's it's capable of multiple devices in the OP!! That's a must...
Not sure where you got the Rom from but don't think you were in the right place..

Your fine. Most of the aosp roms do that.

Cosign that, out of the three that I use none of them change my model number.
Slim, Vanir, Pacman
Build.prop people ...
Look at your build.prop...
Carbon ...(my current rom )..
Changes my device I.D. on the USB side to N7105..
But in general settings it's I-317...
No biggie ...unless the flash eats your IMEI...
Backups are king ...and save a copy of your EFS folder on PC....g
