Write here what do you want in custom roms so developers know what do build
I like:
-AOSP look like (Status bar, settings icons)
-Lot of tweaks that speed up our device
-Deodexed and zipalgined roms
Speed tweaks , no bloatware , zipalaigned and deodexed, s voice , aosp status bar , aosp camera , cyanogen mod features
Cyanogenmod definitely
Odp: [Q]What do you want in custom roms?
I don't like the idea of this thread (but surely we have dozens of worse/unneeded threads for sure), but also vote for cyanogen...

Clean AOSP is my dream, without any other unnessary software

well i'm looking forward for some xperia jb/ics themed roms
Speed, stability and the design as AOSP
Speed, stability, scrollable wallpaper for TW, no bloatware (AOSP) and working auto-focus for video recording would be great.
Thanks

I wonder if there is a page that does a performance and feature comparison of various CM ROMs for Desire?
there is just a minimal difference as they are all based in cm

I abandoned CM bacause of too many bugs for the use I make of my phone...
But I love the AOSP style; do I have to buy a Nexus 4 or is there a launcher/theme to fully emulate AOSP?
Thank you!
If you use the Jelly Beans rom, a lot of it is already themed to look AOSP. Not sure if its available for all carriers yet (I'm on Verizon and on it)

I would recommend CM10 for user xperience, smoothness but mostly for battery life whch is just awful in stock rom.

How is PA Rom and PAC rom when it comes to smoothness, do they come anywhere near CM?
They're both super smooth. I always use PAC
Sent from my Jellybean Xperia S
XTX I would recommend if you are not using the SD-card
I will recommend you (in order)
CM10
NOVA
CM9
Stock ICS
I try other (custom ics) like ka etc...
I found they're too unstable, random reboot, performance issue...

AW: what rom would you recommend?
PAC is one of the best Roms available for the Xperia S in my opinion.
It is super smooth, easily costumizable and stable.
In the new Version it even contains some Sony Features like Walkman and launcher.

Wait for JellyBean
Try paranoid android 2.57. Its stable, fast and the best Rom I have ever had! I use it for daily use and its very much stable!

I definitely recommend hei125 Nova rom with the nova kernel. Very stable, constantly updated and responds to all the complaints and fix them.

[Q] Is CM10 based on JellyBean?
Sorry if that's a dumb question, I'm pretty new to this as well. I'm currently running XTX8. I tried XTX9 but it was very slow and laggy so I reverted back to XTX8. I wanted to try CM9.1 but couldn't get it installed, so just did a restore as it was late at night. It's just I didn't consider CM10 as I thought it was based on JB, and I wanted something that's stable and not still being 'developed' as such.

I know it's like, really really hard to do so, almost impossible, I'd say, but do try to make an effort.

I use nova rom si perfect

CM10 JB 4.1.2 With TouchWiz Nature UI
My first rom was pac and after few days i just flash xtx. I really dont know which one is better. I suppose whatever suits your needs.
In my opinion read and learn how to flash, root...etc and try lots of roms and you ll find your suitable rom

In my searching of the best performance for our Xperia S, I want to know which rom choose the Xperia S users. We have no official Jelly Bean, and CM10 is the base of all, but obviously they are quite different.
I want that you decided thinking in battery, and in possibilities in appearance and usability (and other configurable parameters).
I Did not try MIUI, but imagine it will also smooth.
I assume that we start with Unlocked Bootloader.
PAC in my opinion. I don't like iPhone's so wouldn't want miui. And there's a few more options in pac over cm

BTW you can choose PAC with nova Kernel for maximum performance and customization + install mihome launcher (by miui) for cool themes!
Thats what I have done and I am totally happy with it!
Try it!

Each ROM is going to behave slightly differently for each device. Reading the threads and flashing them yourself is the only real way to tell which one will work the best for you and your device.
"Best ROM" threads are not allowed.
